Chapter 33: Luke....
All the campers where called for the monthly camp cleaning and cabin inspection, where they have to take out all objects and personal items out for cleaning and tidying their cabins.
Cabin Inspection is a chore done by two of the senior counselors inspects all of the cabins. They come around to each of the cabins every afternoon and one with the papyrus scroll inspection checklist. They inspect the cabins and make sure they are neat and clean. The best cabin gets first shower privileges and the worst cabin gets kitchen patrol after dinner, tidying up somewhere around camp, or have to clean the Pegasus Stables.
Max being Chiron's assistant, had been put in charge. Every cabin was scurrying around with cleaning equipment and buckets of soap water. He was walking around doing his part of grading the cabins, but his real reason was Luke.
He had to 'accidentally' find the master bolt and the helmet of darkness and the only thing he need to do later is drag him to Olympus. He did not feel regret what he was about to do. Max already tried to change him, gave him a quite a few chances. But that's it, he wasn't going to be the Naruto for his Sasuke. Even if he considered him family at one point, he would choose the camp: who are the rest of the family, over him.
Luke had blamed the gods for Thalia death originally, but now that she had never died, he has an excuse saying that gods don't care about the world. Boy was he wrong.... in some ways.
He had started with Thalia's cabin, which was pretty neat since they (Max and Thalia) had done the cleaning last night. His relationship was really growing with her considering it was an abrupt on-spot decision on both their parts. Max's recurring nightmare and fear was that she would come to a conclusion that the relationship had started without foundation.
But Thalia debunked his fear and said, "I'm old enough to make my choices Pooh, and I'm sticking to my choice I made years ago. Hell Max! Never thought you would be the hot mess in our relationship. Come here you." She said pulling him into a steamy session of kissing and exploring each other's body. They had almost done it that day in the heat of the moment.
Back at the cabin inspection, he had come to Hermes cabin. Since they had the maximum number, they had few concessions, seeing the unclaimed also bunk here.
He was looking through everything and came to Luke bed and his closet. His shepherd's crook, which he previously strapped to his back began to vibrate ever so slightly. But what was surprising was it gave a slight pull towards two directions.
The direction was towards Percy's cabin. [He started planning this long back huh? have to give him props, he is rather meticulous], another was at Athena cabin.
He dropped all pretences strode towards Percy's cabin calling him out "Percy! You there?" "Hey Max, what's goin' on? its not my turn yet is it, cause I'm not finished yet." he said a little red in his years.
"No its not about that Percy. But I need to check your cabin. Move aside." he said pushing him aside and barged in. When he passed him he whispered, "The time's come Percy..." Percy being a smart guy immediately understood and remembered the instructions Max gave two days before
Max started flipping everything making a scene, campers had gathered around the Poseidon Cabin even Chiron came trotting by. "What is this Max? Why are you wrecking Percy's room." Max did not say anything but just flipped the bed finding the same foldable sheild Luke gives to Percy in the canon.
He came out of the cabin holding it out, "Where did you get this Percy?" He asked acting angry, Percy was 'scared'. "No, we will have this conversation in Dionysus' office." Percy went of with Chiron.
He saw Luke slowly making his way to Athena cabin. "I want all campers in front of Mr. D's office NOW!" Max roared. Every camper scrambled after Percy and Chiron, they had never seen their assistant camp councillor this mad.
Clarise came to him and asked, "Max what the hell is going on?" Max paused getting an idea, "Great timing Clarise. I need you to me do one small favour. Get your most reliable fighters, surround the Athena cabin arm yourself. I'll be frank, I may have found the lightning thief."
Her eyes widened. She just gave a tight nod and ran off to form her group. Meanwhile Percy was telling Chiron of Max's plan for catching the thief. Chiron gravely nodded and readied himself and allowed Percy to run to the Athena Cabin with Annabeth right behind him.
In seconds the Athena cabin was surrounded, bows drawn, spears out and swords drawn. Max sneaked in from the roof, hoping to catch Luke by surprise. He had only his tomahawks as his Leviathan axe was not ready yet and his gun was in his cabin. He readied his staff to quickly catch him.

Luke had snuck inside the cabin while everybody were gathering at Dionysus' office. "Sorry Perce...But I have to do this. For all the years I had to go through with this bullshit. I'll make those so called 'gods' pay. They don't even feel sorry for what they do. I would guess that they don't even find what they are doing is wrong....I will make it right."
Luke was thinking aloud making a beeline to Annabeth's room. He flipped a false tile in the wall and punching a 20-digit number/letter sequence in it and a small door opened showing a black helmet. He had hid it in this cabin, not even the Children of Athena knew of this existing.
He took the helmet and quickly walked out, his pace urgent. He came to an unexpected scene, freezing him in his tracks. He slowly understood what was going on. [ Max...he already thought this far ahead.] he sighed and took out his sword and the green medallion he was given.
