Chapter 4: Space Battle
I jolt awake to hear the alarm blaring and the watch commander shouting over the PA system[attention we are under attack all combat personnel report to battle stations]
After hearing the announcement I hop into my flight suit and run with Geneva to the flight bay where we hop into our fighters the F50 Seraphim a space fighter based on the f22 and armed with a 25mm cannon and heat-seaking missiles and we deploy from the fighter bay of the Matriot our ship and get ready for the upcoming attack.
Right as we leave the bays I see we are being attacked by members of the 3rd colony a group led by Iran and North Koreans who broke off and started raiding other ships for their resources. Their forces amount to twenty fighters and four troop shuttles being deployed by a small cargo freighter which is really just a big metal shell with engines that the colonies threw together last minute for extra cargo.
Right as the raiders start getting closer I destroy two of their combat shuttles one with a long range missile and the other with cannons after which I hear the wing commander say over the radio ["Romeo you and Pinto take down the shuttles so they don't deploy troops on the Matriot and don't worry kid we got your back"]
I respond [ "Roger sir moving in"] as me and Geneva move into position I say [" okay Pinto you take the left two I'll take the right now lets move"]
After saying that I hit my first shuttle with a missile vaporizing everyone inside after which the second shuttle guns it just after I hit it with gunfire and it does it's best to avoid me until my gunfire shreds the crew cabin and the pilot kills the engines and give up while firing off a distress flare to surrender which I honor because they're unarmed and leaking air so I dial up control and say [" Control there is a shuttle leaking air out here can you pick them up"] they answer [" Got it Romeo we will pick them up when it's safe "]
After sending the message I look out to notice that the enemy fighters are completely wiped out and their freighter is cracked open from an anti-ship missile launched by the Matriot.
After sweeping through the battlefield I get the call to return back to the ship and do so .
After I get back I get told by the Colonel"Pvt are you crazy you aren't a pilot and where do you get off authorizing a rescue for that pilot" I respond" sir they'd surrendered already and I'll take responsibility for their actions so move please so I can see if they are okay sir"
After I finished speaking I push past the Colonel and walk to the cargo hold and I see security and the EMTs pulling out the pilot who they drag off to med bay and I say to the head EMT Carlos "take care of them and use my medical rations if you have to now if anyone needs me I'll be resting ok" Carlos nods yes and I walk off and go to bed in my bunk.
