Adrian is looking at the Orb of True Fire in his hands with a sad expression because he could not use it for himself. He did not want to sacrifice this item for his weapon upgrade because he could use this item on Kanlaon. This items was a weapon and material hybrid.

Items that are both classified as a weapon and material are rare and hard to find. It is rare because you could use it as is or find a blacksmith to craft a better weapon. The only downside is that once used for crafting then it will lose its classification as a material. This is what makes items like these unique and hard to find.
