Chapter 20: Charms

A month passed ever since Elliot found the secret form of the book. In which that certain parchment paper contains the crucial information of Occlumency and Ligilimency.

It holds some difficult process that the host has to do but Elliot believed that he can achieve it. But still, it doesn't get rid of the matter that it's very difficult.

He first wants to learn Legilimency. I think once you know what is the thing your defending at, it's more easier then to learn Occlumency after that. If you learn Occlumency first, without knowing what is it your defending, then would be more difficult.

Up until now, he's only able to do the second part where it's sensing the connection of people's mind, it's the most crucial step, as the book says. He has been testing it to the people around him. And that's what he achieved for the most. He can feel some sense of string that attaches his mind to the other one, an electricity-like feeling.

But he didn't spent all those days just training his mind arts, he also run some other few basic potion who turns out to be a real potion fortunately. But it was not as useful as the Sempra's 'pill'. Doing potions can be tough, starting off with his money, which he pays 160 galleons every two days as the promo of the inn, it's supposed to be 150 every night, that is, if your only staying for few days. But long time, that promo is given to you. Then going next, also, ingredients finding, and lastly, the process, which will give unbelievable amount of disappointment and dissatisfaction if you failed and wasted loads of galleons and time.

Then, he of course, can't just simply forget his training regime, core enhancing at morning, swordmanship at afternoon, body training at evening. And also, adding his "simple magic" training. As the host can freely customize the energy ball's characteristics, like make it cold, make it hot, make it for defense, or offense. He had been trying to efficiently control it in the most least time as possible. In his current state, he had been able to achieve of changing it into a certain temperature by just imagining the celcius number.

And too admit, it was a hustle of doing all those things in the same day. So he decided that he will take the weekends as his break. He needs to survive atleats before his Hogwarts time, cmon.

Even with those training, he still had his moment with Faux, his cute yet wild little pet. He has been growing their relationship as panthers can be wild if they don't like their owner. Faux was pretty accustomed to him always training anyway. So he wasn't the one who always need attention.

Lastly, just storing his other stuff in the new given cabinet, and transferring the 'notes', the same old notes where he inputted the events of the future. Who knew it would survived up until to this day?

It's very wrickled into a bad state, but it can still be read by Elliot nonetheless. So using the diary Arch gave him, he transferred it, more neatly and proper, this was his sorting of what things he might have to do, and all.

As such, with the first year, Professor Quirell as Voldemort, and the Philosophers Stone, stored in somewhere between the Vaults from 700 to 750, he can earn loads of golds if he can acquire it. He's not a villain, but normal people doesn't mean they're good. In terms of color, he's a gray.

Its a pity that it will be destroyed by Dumbledore in the future, so he took a note that in any possible ways, he need to get that stone. It's destroyed in the first place for it to be not used any more further in any bad acts, don't worry, he won't use it in any 'bad acts'.

Black is just a dark color, never a bad one, as the book says. And well, he's a gray. He's far from that.

Second Year, mostly he will aim for the Basilisk body and sell it into a dark shop or something. Though it might not be Knockturn Alley, which he already checked, there's still other options.

Third, the appearance of Remus and his other crew, not that much happenings really. Maybe getting a time turner would be interesting, but overall, meh. Mostly Harry's moments.

Of course, there are other things that happened, but only these things are what he is currently focused. Dang, Hogwarts and Magic are really mysterious. Even if he did gone back to the past to achieve those unachievable things, he can't simply not achieve all can he?

There's just so much things the Wizarding World offers and it's just too overwhelming to go and look out for all.

Now he got all things set, potions, plans, and training, and maybe, it's time for, char-

Well, until this,

"Mr. Faust, payment please?" The humble voice of Ton sounded out.

In that moment, all of Elliot's money are all blown up away gone like a dust.

Afternoon passed as Elliot is seen having a serious moment to moment with his hands.

He was getting bored as he was too broke to buy the other needed ingredients for a certain potion he picked. So it maybe the time for testing his Charm's skill.

It was his favorite subject back then, but still, he was terrible at it. Much to that even Professor Flitwick taught him once personally and gave a more easier book that is usually read by the pureblooded kids that wants to advance read.

Meaning, a year more lower than 11th.

It was embarrassing, but he was very determined back then still, as a Gryffindor, if he's not brave, he should be at least like that. Yes, Gryffindor was his old house.

A terrible house to be at as you have more chances getting bullied of how prideful they are.

So then, he warms up his hands, and making his index finder act as a wand, he voices out-

"Lumos"

The most basic spell, but still, one of the most useful one.

Like any other first try he had, it was a fail. It's like a soon-to-fade light bulb that just keeps flickering. But it's what he most expected. After all, spells and simple magic are entirely different things.

Spells, have 'purposes', mostly only one, like Alohamora, for door, or some, two, like Expelliarmus, knocking back and disarming. While simple magic, what he successfully already casted before, is again, just an energy controlled by his hands. It doesn't have any certain purposes as the host itself can control its characteristics.

So now then, even if he succeeded training his simple magic, doesn't mean he should be able to do spells already, specifically, Charm's. But still, the experience gathered from casting a simple magic can be helpful.

That is, everytime he cast a spell or simple magic, he has to keep focus on his core not letting "too much" energy. As his magic reservation, after a year of gathering energies, it now is like a bank filled with dozens of money unused. Now it's being let out, he often get lost of control and if that do happens when casting a spell or simple magic, it will do a lot more intentionally damaged. Can be a pain in the ass if your not supposed to be loud or anything.

Now that he understood the basic concept of why he's failing, he tried to do the same thing continously.

"Lumos"

"Lumos"

"Lumos"

"Lumos"

"Lumos"

"Lumos"

"... Lumos!"

By adding more exaggerated rage and motivation to do the spell, it did work as a bright magical light appeared in his index finger acting as a wand blinding and glistening in its form.

Elliot gleefully smirk, now, comes with its partner, Nox. What? Wizards can't simply just shake their hands expecting for it to come off like just holding a lighted candle. Hence, observing the light in his hands-

" Nox! "

In that voice, the bright light dissapears in no evidence like it never existed. Fascinating isn't it?

The feelings are just very same. He sighed satisfied. His feelings all imprinted at his smiling face. That was just an attempt for the day. He's still a kid, he can get tired too.

Now then, he needs to have his good night sleep. As tomorrow, he needs to go back to the muggle world to get his bank money and convert it into this world's currency. How troublesome..
