Glimpse Water continued to follow Prota, carrying Frozen Milk, home and made himself comfortable. Prota, however, wasn't happy at all, he already had a hard time pursuing Frozen Milk and now this random stranger appeared and was all over Frozen Milk!
The more Prota thought the more furious he became, however, Frozen Milk was still unconscious and he needed to tend to him. Although first things first, he turned around and faced the random stranger,
"Didn't I say-"
"Do you care about him?"
"Of course, I would do anything to make him happy."
Glimpse Water scowled at Prota's naivety. Why would you say something like that? Aren't you just admitting your own weakness and giving others a chance to exploit you? You might be the strongest but once you tell the villains this, they're bound to kidnap this person you would do anything to make them happy and then? And then what? Be defeated because you're a naive, stupid prick?
But Glimpse Water knew why the protagonist said this, obviously because he wanted to indicate Frozen Milk was off-limits for him. Glimpse Water needed to establish dominance here and rub some salt into the wound he was going to tear open,
"He said, he'd allow me to stay with him, after all, I saved his life when he collapsed from the fever."
See? I saved his life and he already welcomed me with open arms, how far did you come? Glimpse Water smirked.
"Really?" Prota's face softened a bit.
Of course, not dumbass, Glimpse Water thought this was too easy, the protagonist was way too easy,
"Yeah, so if you want to make him happy, let me stay."
"Fine, once Frozen Milk wakes up, I'll ask him until then stay put here."
Glimpse Water this time blanked. 'Frozen Milk' this name.... indeed, he was his creator.
Frozen Milk- Glimpse Water! Who would choose these pen names?
Now, he finally realised he didn't choose it out of his own volition! No wonder he felt weird when he decided on this stupid name!
"Whatever," Glimpse Water sat on a bed and couldn't wait for Frozen Milk to wake up.
***
The next morning when Frozen Milk opened his eyes, he felt a huge weight on him. He panicked. He couldn't move at all but once he turned his head a bit, he saw how Prota slept next to him or rather on top of him.
Relief spread in all parts of his body until he wondered how in the world, he ended up in his bed again. Was yesterday perhaps just a nightmare? He touched his neck as a sharp yet idle voice cut him out of his drowsiness,
"You awake?"
Frozen Milk sat up and saw Glimpse Water sitting on a chair, casually eating an apple yet had a sour look on his face.
"You always sleep like this? Ain't this obvious preferential treatment? Whatever, like I care," Glimpse Water humphed once but it was painfully clear he wanted an answer.
'Tsundere' crossed Frozen Milk's mind again.
"No, it's just-"
"Of course, we always sleep like this," his shirtless protagonist woke up and glared at Glimpse Water then he turned to Frozen Milk with an abandoned puppy look.
"Frozen Milk, did you really allow him to stay with us? He said, he saved your life yesterday, that's why you offered him this absurd idea! Frozen Milk, you're just too nice!" Prota's eyes sparkled with admiration again.
Frozen Milk had a hard time peeling Prota off him. He turned to Glimpse Water who pretended all of this had nothing to do, but deep hidden in his eyes was that damned glint of jealousy. Frozen Milk didn't know whether to cry or to laugh.
"Let him stay," after thinking for a bit Frozen Milk concluded.
He was at his wit's end, Glimpse Water's occasional, more like constant glares were that of a wronged and lost bunny that tried to be angry to show its frustration but failed.
He had to have a talk with Glimpse Water, a proper talk.
Frozen Milk sighed, he couldn't help praising himself because he was really growing as a person and learnt to take responsibilities.
He didn't hate his author, in fact, he was also precious to him, so when he thought about how his dishonest author must feel like, he had no other choice but to make it clear to Glimpse Water.
Disregarding the fact, he was almost killed by him and had to pee in front of him.
Also, if he was able to turn Glimpse Water around, wasn't that better? Then the protagonist and the villain wouldn't have to die.
Frozen Milk had to water this wilted flower with love, in hopes it'd grow and bloom again. He almost choked on his saliva.
Yes, he had upright thoughts. Love. Parental love. Nothing else but pure and innocent intentions.
He had no idea what parental love looked like but he tried his best to 'love' his son. Sons. How come this twisted author here instead started to bloom?
"Congratulation host. Character evolution from scum author to a normal author successful. Hidden challenge accomplished."
He was rewarded for that? Frozen Milk forgot that the reason he transmigrated was because of his personality infuriating the readers. His slow character development spurred on by his occasional life and death situations were bearing its fruits.
"What's my level now?"
"0."
"Fuck! How come!... No way... Thank you system for being so generous and gracious. The other system can't even hope to dare to compete with you," Frozen Milk cringed.
"0.5."
It went up! Fuck, so this system really wanted to be praised? Talk about inferiority complex!
"Are you fine with the other system?"
"Yes, host. System successfully established dominance."
Frozen Milk ignored this. Don't even think about giving this crooked system a reaction.
"Frozen Milk are you alright? You're spacing out again," Prota put his forehead on Frozen Milk's and Frozen Milk could feel the furious aura coming from Glimpse Water.
"I'm fine!" he pulled away.
Prota was right, he was spacing out too much. His inner monologues and flashbacks were too long! The readers would get annoyed by the constant breaks between the actual storyline and his pity character background story.
No one cared!
Frozen Milk spat blood. How vicious!
"I have found out about the major."
Wait, this talk, Frozen Milk glanced at Glimpse Water who still seemed indifferent about everything.
"Apparently, his daughter is going to have a wedding. This will be the only time he will make a public appearance."
"Then what do you suggest?"
"The major rewards those with great contributions to the capital with an invitation."
Frozen Milk had a headache, this was like in the storyline. The major's daughter was married against her will, but the protagonist crashed the party and saved the daughter who then fell in love with the protagonist.
Wait no, after Glimpse Water transmigrated, it was Glimpse Water who saved the daughter. Now both contenders were here, and at the ceremony, they'd actually meet another important main character!
Frozen Milk was torn.
"How are you going to get the invitations?" Glimpse Water finally spoke up.
Frozen Milk's heart leapt out of his chest. Was Glimpse Water going to change the storyline?
"We need to make some great contributions," Prota thought.
Glimpse Water caught Frozen Milk's nervous stare and smirked.
This brat! He was scheming something!
"Don't worry, you should first get to work," he needed Prota out of the picture for now.
"Are you sure? I can't leave you here with this..."
Prota and Glimpse Water had a heated staredown. The atmosphere suddenly turned cold. Frozen Milk gulped.
"It's fine, it's fine," at least he hoped it would be.
After Frozen Milk almost dried out his throat reassuring Prota, the latter finally left. Now it was only Frozen Milk and Glimpse Water in the room.
An ominous aura spread. Frozen Milk rehydrated his throat with constant saliva, he needed to do this.
Hey guys,
I'm really happy that you enjoy this story and support it!
I'm aware that I don't post much, I'm really sorry about this!
Unfortunately, I'm only able to post 3 chapters a week, originally it was 2 chaps haha (nervous laugh)...
Please take care of yourself! Wish you a lovely day!
"No need to look so anxious, idiot," Glimpse Water spat insults at Frozen Milk like it was nothing,
"I won't do anything."
"So you'll just give up trying to rule the world?"
"Hey! You were the one who wrote me this character setting! It's your fault!"
Frozen Milk couldn't retort to this.
"I have one condition though," Glimpse Water looked a bit abashed, he threw the apple in the bin and scratched his head.
"What is it?"
"Let... Let me st-" Glimpse Water coughed, "I mean, lemme stay with you."
Glimpse Water said it really fast but Frozen Milk still caught it. He mentally prepared himself. It was time now. It was time for the father-son speech. This was serious. He couldn't screw it up.
He never had parents, so Frozen Milk didn't know what to exactly do but he was an author. So, he should use his author imagination. It should be alright.
"Glimpse Water," he started but was cut off by Glimpse Water choking on his saliva.
Frozen Milk shot him a glare, "Do you have a problem?"
"Why... why did you give me this name?"
Glimpse Water was like a child complaining to his parents about his stupid name he didn't like.
In fact, this was happening right now. Frozen Milk was exasperated and honestly told him,
"I don't like my name either, I'm sorry."
He wasn't sure if he was apologising to Glimpse Water or himself.
"Really?" Glimpse Water sat up straight and seemed a bit more obedient, "hmpf. I guess I can forgive you for your idiocy if you already apologised. I can't be this small of a person."
The traumatic experience of him peeing in front of Glimpse Water crept up and he wanted to drown Glimpse Water but decided to be the bigger person to that small person.
"Can you not be a bit more adorable like your brother?" he sighed but then noticed the fatal mistake he did.
"So, you do like him more!" Glimpse Water stood up ready to storm outside when Frozen Milk fell off his bed.
Glimpse Water halted in his tracks. Frozen Milk wanted to stop Glimpse Water but he didn't calculate his body was this weak he couldn't even properly stand.
Glimpse Water rushed to his side but when their eyes met, Glimpse Water turned away,
"Don't look at me like that! I couldn't care less about you. If you were hurt, the protagonist ain't gonna let me go."
Dishonest, too dishonest. Frozen Milk crawled his way onto the bed again and was grateful Glimpse Water turned his back to him.
"Let's start again," the headache got worse and numbed Frozen Milk's senses,
"Glimpse Water, I don't hate you. I've never hated you. Can you hate your own creations?"
Glimpse Water remained quite.
TALK! SAY YOU DON'T HATE THE PROTAGONIST! SAY IT! ... NO WAY!
Did Glimpse Water really dislike the protagonist and villain?
"Then..." he could hear Glimpse Water's embarrassment, "do you... do you... love me?"
Frozen Milk bit the bullet, "I do."
"More than the protagonist?"
"I love you both equally."
"There ain't no equal," Glimpse Water spun around and grabbed Frozen Milk by the shoulders,
"parents always have favs!"
Glimpse Water really was a lonely kid that craved for parental love. Frozen Milk slapped himself, he did more or less mirror Glimpse Water off himself. Glimpse Water also didn't have parents and never experienced familial love and he filled this hole by making him a tyrant ruler.
Frozen Milk was even more sure to properly raise this lost cause. He'd give him the love he craved. It was somehow two-way, he would also grow as a person and learn more about love.
"I like you both the same," he patted Glimpse Water's head.
The latter immediately pulled away, "Don't think I like this!"
Glimpse Water, just like Prota, was the epitome of cliché streams! Everything he said was what a stereotypical tsundere would say. He'd be the straight-A student, getting 100 on all tests, perfect attendance, role model student if there was a class for tsundere!
Even though he pretended he didn't like Frozen Milk why the hell was he constantly asking for reassurance of his love? Wasn't that contradictive?
His character was more complicated than just putting him in the category of a tsundere. Stay in your character setting! Choose one!
Was Glimpse Water perhaps bipolar? No, that wasn't it. Was this Glimpse Water's way to have more depth to his character?
This was a freaking comedic-wannabe story! No need for characters to be developed, have depth or have a proper, enticing plot! This here is just for sole entertainment to make fun of all the existing transmigration rip-off series! This is just a parody, not a proper novel, so stay a flat character!
Frozen Milk huffed out.
"Host, the wall is off-limit. Breaking it is forbidden."
"Sorry," he apologised to the system, "won't happen again. Glimpse Water just caught me off-guard. For a second I thought this would evolve into a normal novel. Just the thought of 100+ chapters frightens me."
"Host wouldn't be the only one frightened."
Frozen Milk spaced out again but Glimpse Water didn't notice.
"I... I'm sorry," abashed Glimpse Water confessed.
Frozen Milk turned to him, "Eh?"
"Yesterday, yknow for strangling you but don't get the wrong idea here."
This was supposed to be a heartfelt moment that'd further their relationship, so the readers wouldn't think Glimpse Water's infatuation with him would feel sudden, out of place, however, it just turned into a typical cliché tsundere story.
"Host! Last warning, don't even think of the wall!"
Frozen Milk threw his hands in the air.
"It's okay. As long as you don't do it again," Frozen Milk also started to be more forgiving. It was surprising.
"Ok, good. Now we've cleared this up... erm... I will stay with you and... help you... yknow with the plot. I won't interfere," Glimpses Water scratched the back of his head,
"Am... am I being good?"
Frozen Milk thought that Glimpse Water was being very cute right now, however, again a 180-degree personality turn! This person was not the same like the harasser in the café!
Frozen Milk was relieved and proud of him as well as himself.
While Frozen Milk motioned Glimpse Water to come closer to pat his head, Frozen Milk was also praising himself. See, if he put his mind into something, he could do it.
