''Who...?" It took her a moment to realize that he was talking about Veronica, ''It has barely been a few days since I started working there. You have been there for years. Who should know people?" 

''I don't socialize at the workplace.'' 

''Sure, I organize tea parties there every evening,'' she responded with a smile, ''Where else do you socialize then?" 

''You want details?" he raised a brow. 

Diana choked on air, ''No thanks. I was just saying,'' For some reason, the look on his face told her that she would not want to listen to his kind of details. 

''Who was she, Diana?" he held her fingers without breaking eye contact with her as he gently stroked her wrist, ''Does it hurt?" 

''No,'' her voice was slightly breathy but she really did not feel any pain in her hand, ''I don't know her and I have no personal feud with her, in case you are wondering. She is called Veronica.''
