At the border of the swamp wetland in the southern part of the Immecca Horde, the monsters were Level 2 2-Star Two-Claw Mermen. They were very suitable for players around Level 17 to 19 who wanted to level up. The main reason was that the Two-Claw Mermen there were in groups. When they respawned, they were basically in groups of five or six. Now that he had a party, Fatty took everyone there.
Many players were leveling up there. After Fatty and the rest found a spawn point, they started waiting.
Actually, entering the dungeon would be the best option if it was just to solely take Luo Luo along. However, Fatty knew that there were restrictions on a player's level in the novice dungeon of the Bandit Camp. After completing one dungeon round and reaching Level 18, they probably wouldn't be able to enter anymore. Therefore, he would rather farm monsters in the wild.
Due to the lower level of the Two-Claw Mermen, they didn't have any special attack techniques. Instead, they attacked monsters at will. With Fated Sky tanking, it was very easy to kill monsters.
Luo Moling had initially thought that they were there for little Luo Luo. However, after they started farming the monsters, she realized that they were actually there for Fatty!
Why was that?
The Two-Claw Mermen had 360 HP. As Fated Sky tanked them, Crayon Knife waited for an opportunity to attack. Luo Moling also had her own Flaming Imp releasing flame arrows in the distance, so they basically didn't need much time to kill a monster. As a result, Fatty was too lazy to even release his Miasma to poison the Two-Claw Mermen. After Fated Sky chose a target, he hit the monsters with a Corrosion Skill before he waited to gain EXP without doing anything…
Fatty was even idler than little Luo Luo. At least, she would regularly stick the Healing Ward into the ground and assist Fated Sky in restoring his HP…
A Venomancer had relatively low poison damage in the early stages. When monsters were killed easily in battle, there was no use for his toxin effect. The merman would have been killed within 8 seconds if he had used his skill. Wouldn't this have been a waste of his mana?
Therefore, Fatty had a clear conscience despite being lazy. Of course, it was boring. Thus, he would rather roam around and gather the nearby Snake Spit Grass. He could gain EXP as long as he didn't go out of range.
The Snake Spit Grass was very sparse, but Fatty still found two spawn points. After picking them up, he ran back again.
Such a medicinal herb usually respawned every 30 minutes. However, it might not necessarily respawn at the original location and might shift a little instead. Fortunately, according to the crafting formula of the Slowdown Poison, each concoction only required one Snake Spit Grass. Hence, Fatty wasn't in a hurry and he slowly waited for it to respawn.
Crayon Knife found his behavior somewhat strange, so he asked, "Brother Chicken, didn't you learn to forge? Why are you picking herbs?"
"I'm not!" answered Fatty. "This is a Venomancer's Poison Crafting Skill. Oh, that's right. Have you learned the Venom Skill?"
"Not yet! I wasn't able to get the Skill Book!" Crayon Knife replied. "I went to the market today, but I only bought the Unlock Skill…"
"Huh? You've learned the Unlock Skill?" Fatty asked in amazement.
"It's a Level 15 Skill Book!" Crayon Knife said with a smile. "A Berserker player was selling it, and I bought it for 5 Silver Coins!"
"5 Silver Coins?" Fatty was even more amazed. "Damn, you sure are lucky!"
"Why?" While Fated Sky was killing the monsters, he asked, "Why did you say that he's lucky?"
"The player who sold him that Skill Book definitely doesn't know the market!" Fatty said. "The Unlock Skill is a very important skill for the Thief, and the drop rate is very low. Isn't he lucky he bought it for 5 Silver Coins?"
Only a Thief who learned the Unlock Skill could open the treasure chests that spawned in the game and obtain the items inside. Fatty still remembered, even after four years, that the Unlock Skill could be sold for more than 2 Gold Coins in the game. Theoretically, its price should be around 20 Silver Coins in the early stage of the game. Now that Crayon Knife had bought it for 5 Silver Coins, he had really earned it.
That Berserker player probably didn't know that. Now that the game hadn't been open for two days, it was hard to estimate the price of many things. That player might have seen that the Unlock Skill was only a Level 15 skill and wasn't offensive and thus sold it to Crayon Knife at such a low price. If he later found out that the drop rate of the Unlock Skill was very low, he might regret it.
Of course, only Fatty probably knew that. Crayon Knife and the rest were not aware of it.
At this thought, Fatty suddenly wondered if he should collect some items that would increase in price in the future. Then, he would become rich when he sold them!
However, when Fatty started recalling the past excitedly to decide which items were going to increase in price in the future, he suddenly realized that there was nothing worth collecting at the moment.
Crayon Knife had been lucky to be able to buy the Unlock Skill. Such an item with a low drop rate would definitely change according to the current trends. If he wanted to acquire it, he wouldn't make much profit at the time.
Although Fatty recalled some items that were going to increase in price in the future, it was partly because there was an increase of Gold Coins in the game. As a result, the prices of some items would rise. Some were even items that the players at this stage couldn't obtain based on their level. In other words, they were some high-level items.
After thinking for a while, he realized the only thing he could collect was the treasure map in his backpack…
It was hard to use the treasure map. However, if he could decipher it and find the corresponding location, he would definitely get huge rewards. Since Fatty had obtained the treasure map, that showed that other players had also obtained it through other means. In the current stage, the players couldn't use the treasure map. It was just a decoration in their backpacks. Therefore, Fatty felt that if he could offer a reasonable price, the players who were short of money in the early stage would definitely sell their treasure maps to him.
Of course, there was a risk involved in being a businessman. Fatty might not be able to use a treasure map after acquiring it, which would cause him to suffer a loss. However, if he acquired this in the early stage of the game, the price wouldn't be too high. Thus, even if he took a loss, it would only be a few Silver Coins. Besides, Fatty would keep the treasure map and wait for its price to rise. This was not the same as acquiring the treasure map in the later stage of the game. Then, the treasure map would rise in value to 20 Gold Coins. Even if Fatty didn't use the treasure map, he could still sell it to other players.
At this thought, Fatty couldn't help but take out the treasure map to have a look.
He still couldn't decipher it, which was to be expected. He needed at least a Level 1 Demon Clan language to decipher this treasure map. Fatty currently only knew the general mainland language that players knew when they spawned… Oh, that was right. He also spoke the Orc language. When he had been completing the camp quests, he had acquired it in the Immecca Horde.
However, he had low proficiency in both languages. His mainland language was currently only at Level 1 with 24% proficiency, while his Orc language was even lower at Level 0 with only 6% proficiency!
Proficiency was obtained by completing all sorts of quests and slowly accumulating it. For example, if an Undead NPC gave a quest to a player, after the player completed it, the system would increase their Undead language proficiency. If a player completed a quest given by an Orc NPC, their proficiency in the Orc language would rise a little.
Of course, there were also other methods to increase language proficiency. The fastest way was to help the Dark Council Library collect books. These books would be obtained through certain quests of the storyline. One might get a history book or a diary. As long as the players handed the book to the library after obtaining it, they could gain more language proficiency.
As far as the difficulty of increasing the language level was concerned, Fatty reckoned that he needed to at least be at Level 30 to decipher this treasure map…
Since Fatty had been absent-minded, he didn't notice a Two-Claw Merman nearby that had respawned. Little Luo Luo cried out in the distance to warn him that the Two-Claw Merman had approached him and raised its saber to hack at him.
"-71!"
The Two-Claw Merman had a pretty high attack that Fated Sky's high armor could tank against. However, that didn't mean that a common class like Fatty's could tank against it. When Luo Moling saw that the merman had dealt such high damage to Fatty and raised its saber to attack him again, she and the others panicked. They were afraid that Fatty would be killed.
Anxious, they also forgot about Fatty's special method of adding points and subconsciously wanted to save him.
However, Fatty had come back to his senses by now. He unhurriedly controlled the direction of his character so it would roll sideways on the virtual keyboard, thus avoiding the merman's second attack.
Fatty's character now had nearly 300 HP. Although 71 damage points were a lot to other common classes, this was only one-quarter of his HP. Hence, he didn't need to panic at all. After rolling, he released a Poison Sting Skill against the merman and reduced its speed before he pulled away from it.
He regularly released Miasma and accelerated its health loss per second.
By the time Fated Sky killed his previous target and ran over to take over this merman, most of its health had been reduced by poison.
When the merman was killed, everyone couldn't help feeling relieved. Luo Moling told Fatty angrily and hatefully, "Why were you in a daze?"
"I was thinking about something!" Fatty replied very innocently.
Before Luo Moling could say anything, Crayon Knife suddenly asked Fatty, "Brother Chicken, how did you pull off that side roll?"
Upon hearing that, Luo Moling and the rest were stunned. That was right. How had he done that?
Although they had seen the action techniques Fatty had used to avoid physical attacks in the dungeon before, this had been their first time in the party and they had been too shy to ask Fatty. Now that they'd seen it again, they finally couldn't help but ask.
"It's very simple. It's done just like that!" Fatty casually answered, as he didn't understand what they meant for a moment.
