Chapter 10: Bored Of Waiting
It was at least an hour or so after Jessica had started eating the meal her mother had prepared. Aiden was getting very bored and very hungry.
"What is Jessica doing down there?" He thought to himself.
Luckily he had the ability to teleport some food from his home world. Although , even with this ability, it was like a shot in the dark. He never really knew what food would appear.
This time, the food that appeared had a likeness to that of an eggplant in terms of outward appearances. However, if you ever had a chance to actually eat this plant, you'd find that it tastes nothing like the ones you are familiar with.
Instead, this succulent plant is juicy and sweet with insides the color of a beautiful flower. Also, if cooked, it'll taste like cotton candy and will even melt in your mouth. But it's not very filling...
Aiden decided to go downstairs and see what Jessica was up to. After all, her mother couldn't see him as a kid, so why not now. He still had to be careful not to cause too much creaking though. Those stairs were old.
Just as Aiden was arriving at the bottom of the stairs, however, he heard a commotion coming from the dining area.
"Mom! I just need to go to my room. You don't have to be so suspicious of me." Jesica yelled.
"Nonsense! You're constantly looking at the door. So much so that you tried to pass up on your favorite dessert I made for you." Her mother whined. "It's not like you! In fact..." her words trailed off.
Then Jessica's mom came running towards the stairs. Due to the suddenness of the mother's arrival, he wasn't able to move out of the way in time.
"THWACK"
They clashed...
Confused, Jessica's mother looked up. "What did I run into?" She thought.
