The bouncer looking guy knocked on the door three times and stopped for a few seconds then knocked two times, then four, then one before the door was finally opened.
Maybe it was a special room that's why he had to knock in a particular pattern Chang Mingkai thought.
Another bouncer looking guy was the one who opened the door.
He gave then a brief nod and stepped aside letting them in.
The room was like a typical office. It had a desk, some single chairs and a long bench at the side in place of a couch.
Behind the desk was a man who could pass for a professor with his gold rimmed glasses but looked more like a gangster.
" I understand you're here for a loan?"
" Yes I am. " Chang Mingkai gave a brief reply in order not to reveal how nervous he really was.
" Alright. Your name and a little bit about yourself. "
" Okay. My name is Chang Mingkai. I'm the CEO of Ming jades located downtown."
"That's enough. Why do you need a loan and how much do you need?"
"I need the loan to save my company. And I need roughly five hundred million yuan. "
" That much? We can't give you that much unless you have something worth close to or more than that amount to guarantee you would pay back. "
" No problem I can use my house. "
" Where is the house and how much is it worth?"
"It's a villa in Rosewood villas. "
" Oh so it's worth around twenty to thirty million yuan. That's not... " Before the man with the gold rimmed glasses could finish, his phone rang and seeing the caller ID, he immediately excused himself an walked into the adjacent room.
" Hello sir. "
" Is there anyone there by the name Chang Mingkai asking for a loan? "
" Yes sir there is. " He answered a little confused about the direction of the conversation.
" Alright. Make sure he gets the loan. "
" But sir, he's asking for five hundred million and you know that he has to have a collateral worth that much. He only has his house which is worth about thirty million yuan. That's not enough. "
" Ask him for the company and the house, those are his most priced and valuable possessions just make sure he gets that loan."
"Alright sir. "
" Don't mess up, this is an order from above. If you know what I mean. I'll leave it to you. Report back to me once it's done. " The person on the other end said before hanging up.
After adjusting his emotions, he returned to the office and sat down.
" Sorry for the little delay. As I was saying the price of the house isn't enough. Unless you want a loan of twenty million."
" No that won't cut what I want to use it for. Isn't there another way? "
" No. There isn't. Well unless you add something else to the house. Say... Like your company? "
" My company? No. Not that. "
" You sound like you can't pay back the money in six months. If you aren't confident then you don't need the loan. "
The guy said pretending to stand up from his seat.
