" They say the power of a Human soul is how the weak humans overcome dreaded monsters.
Of course, this does have merit.
During a Study conducted years and years ago, long before the magic burning of 572 BDG... a group of Sorcerers, Wizards, Mancers of every kind came together to test an important question that ached humanities thoughts forever...
What is a Soul? What does it do? What Is the System? How does that work? Why are there physical beings called gods... but they don't answer prayers like the origin texts say?
A Necromancer, the grey wizard Helsman sought after the soul... its intangible being was crucial to necromancy, but nobody could understand what is was or its impact... until he tried something that should of been impossible.
His colleague, the Black Alchemist Onx, helped his research by creating non living objects that could have a soul within it. The results were... remarkable.
The Pendant the soul resided within became unruly, filled with mana and flowing to any source it could... the Necromancer tried it on... and died. His soul, ripped from his body... fused with the dormant soul within, and the magic flow became stronger.
The Alchemist witnessed this firsthand, his comrade died between his arms serene... he saw an expression filled with pain, but it lacked warmth... it lacked the coolness of a dead man.... it lacked, everything. So, the knowledge of the cursed technique became forbidden... enforced by every god, every man, every monster.... it was outlawed.
But why? Why does the artifact take the souls of the wearers?
Questions must be answered, and rules broken... and so they were.
It required more souls.
It hungered.
It couldn't help itself.
It couldn't control itself.
It wanted more.
But it won't ever get more.
And so the tale goes.
But... nothing is forgotten. Word of mouth and thought of mind are of no contenders to law. And so the knowledge spread, necromancy in larger scale became popular...multiple souls in one being, and no longer did an artificial one need to be created. Cursed items filled to the brim with souls sought blood in every battlefield... it sought blood in the streets of cities too, the havoc was detailed, recorded....and remembered.
The hate of Necromancers still lay to this day, and Alchemists haven't made anything apart from potions since. "

( MC POV )
Its auction night.. I've luckily been able to take residence in a local inn for mere coppers, supplied by selling some luminos root, and I've been researching quite a bit from different sources... novels, guides... anything. All crafting in one way or another... but I also found a Novel that talked about the Soul, I found it quite interesting.
I've held quite the few amounts of cursed items, there power is... ehh, just before relic grade? Maybe worse? I don't know, but anywho... they also have crazy downsides. Like, -40% HP or something.
But, the strength of them... even on just basic swords are ridiculous... I saw an Iron cursed sword contend with a World drop sword! Like, a crafted item VS a world Item? From like events and shit? Ridiculous. So uh, I'm thinking of making one...
Souls... I don't know exactly how to get them though. Lost souls might be a good idea... because I don't exactly like killing living humanoids... or anything in general.
I mean... yeah, I'd slaughter millions of ants, wolves... demons... elementals... whatever, but when it gets personal its different. You get a much different feeling from... say, dropping a bomb than executing people right in front of you. You get me?
Probably not... its just, a weird quirk of mine then. I guess I'll have to iron that out eventually... as I'm probably going to personally execute quite the few amounts of people in the future.
Do players drop souls?
Huh... maybe I could... PK?
I mean... by that I mean killing player killers... you know?!?
That will have to wait for later anywho...
I got a list of things to do.
- Craft a new set of gear
- Get parts for Chimera Race
- Get to Max Level
- Kill everyone in my old guild
- Defeat Demon Lord
- Fix Morin
Bonus.
- Fix Melody, Arch, Cav, Horizon, and Luriel's relationship.
- Flay Ruby Alive
- Say Hi to Edo ( Get Charm Resistance first )
- Retire as an immortal crafter
- Get laid ( Most likey target: Dice )
- Take an apprentice
Anywho... there is a crowd here now. So j guess its auction time!
