Chapter 26: The a Flower can Create More- Chapter 26

After much persuasion, the red haired girl finally sat down in a seat on my dining table, I cup of cool water in her hands.

"I'm sorry, but I never got your name. I'm Somnium." I said she looked at me.

"Anne." She said. I nodded.

"Vision, Cool." I stared at her confused.

"I'm sorry? I said. She sipped the water angelically.

"Your name, it means vision. Did you not know?" She asked. I blushed before laughing awkwardly.

"Oh that! N-no I knew, I was just confused.." I lied. She didn't say anything after. I sighed at the tense atmosphere before remembering why I brought her inside.

"Right, I need to go get something." I said quietly before turning to go up the stairs. As I lifted my leg, I winced before quickly putting it down. I sighed before taking a deep breath, I continued to walk up the stairs.

Each time I moved my leg it felt like it was being clawed out while lemons were being squeezed on top: pure torture.

I finally made it up the stairs and with a rugged breath, I limped quickly into my closet and grabbed the plant. It had definitely gotten taller since I checked on it last. I headed back down stairs slowly. Anne was still sitting on the table.

"I'm, sorry I took so long." I said before appearing in front of her. She was going to say something until she saw the plant. I watched as her eyes went wide. She looked back up at me.

"The Clavem Abscondita.. here in front of me." She said, her voice in pure amazement. Before doing anything, I walked up to the screen door before closing the curtains to cover it. She looked up at me shocked.

"How did you get it?" She asked bewildered. I looked back at her with a smile.

"That's not important, but I want to thank you for helping me." I shuddered remembering what happened. My legs threatening to buckle underneath me. I quickly shook the thought out of my mind.

"Please follow me." I said, I walked towards the storage room, it was right next to the front door, the paint covering the door knob already peeling slightly. I opened it and took out a pot as well as a container of sand.

"Your, giving it to me?" She asked softly. I didn't have to turn around to know that she was probably thinking I was the stupidest person on earth right about now. I shook my head and turned to face her.

"Not quite." I said. Limping back over to the table, I sat down. She sat back down in her seat, her eyes focused on the plant.

"What are you planning on-

"Just watch.." I said. My hand trembled as I lifted it, I glanced before remembering my swollen shoulder. I lifted my other hand and gently tapped the petal of the flower. Unlike most plants, the petal didn't have a velvety or silky feel to it. But then again, it wasn't like most plants. I gently pinched the petal, Anne quickly grabbed my arm.

"Are you out of your mind?! Don't ruin it!" She said. I drew my hand out of her grasp.

"I won't." I said. "I know what I'm doing."

I placed my fingers back on the petal, carefully, I tugged on it. Anne was watching her face analyzing my movements. Just then, he petal popped off. She glanced at me with a frown.

"What did you expect to happen?" She said. I could see the disappointment in her face.

"Do you happen to know why there are none of these on land?" I asked her. She glanced at me and shrugged.

"It's super rare, it can only be found thousands of feet deep and it doesn't produce a seed." She said. I smiled at her, she looked at me confused.

"What if I told you, there was a seed, but not the type we would expect." I said. She glanced back at the petal in my hand before everything clicked in her head. Her mouth went wide before she glanced at me.

"No.. that, can't be possible.." she said slowly. I smiled at her expression before dropping the petal in the pot before filling it with sand. I pointed to her cup that still had water in it.

"Are you going to finish that?" I asked. She glanced at the cup before shaking her head. I took the cup and pours the rest on the cold water in.

"Isn't that too much? She asked. I shook my head.

"You just said this plant grows in the ocean. If anything, this is too little water." I said. Her eyes sparkled slightly as I passed the pot to her.

"It's, mine?" She asked, expecting me to say no and pulling it back. But I simply withdrew my hands from the pot.

"For saving my life." I said with a smile. She glanced back down at the plant before looking back up at me.

"Thank you." She said, still in shock. I nodded before standing up.

"Make sure you keep it in a cold place, not too cold or too warm. It should be similar conditions as if it were still growing in the ocean. I explained. I went to put the remaining sand back into my closet when she spoke up.

"You know... I know it's none of my business but." She started. I turned to look at her. She sighed before looking up at me, her pure, light green eyes facing me with..

Pity?

"Maddie wasn't the one who leaked the photos." She suddenly said.
