Chapter 186: EPISODE 186: Opposites Contrasts!

[Liligant! The flowering Pokemon. A grass type. It's well-liked by other Pokémon because of its beauty. The flower on its head needs constant care, or it will soon wither and rot. The fragrance of its flower differs slightly depending on the soil where it grew up. Sniffing the aroma calms your heart and mind.

-Solar Beam

-Petal Blizzard

-Grass Knot

-Razor Leaf] Camellia's Pokedex explained.

"Liligant, you sure are a beautiful and pretty Pokemon." Camellia smiled and coaxed.

<Liligant! Liligant!>Liligant twirled around while spreading her sweet aroma throughout the sky.

A beautiful day has arrived blissfully once more. A cold breeze surrounds the sky, while the grass covered with frost rustle to the melody of the wind. Snow has done its job again, turning every fertile soil into a winter wonderland.

Near a frozen cascade is where we set up camp for lunch. Eating lunch with a winter view is the best thing to experience. A wondrous cascade filled with nature's glory.

Lucario usually eats apples and berries rather than Pokefood packets. It seems weird for a tall Pokemon to eat on a bowl for little ones. Lucario prefers to lean on trees while eating berries and apples just like Gardevoir, Zoroark, and Sceptile.

Lucario humbly watches over the little ones play and eat. He leaned on a tall and frosted tree, while gnawing on his apple as well. Little does he know, that he's up for a surprise.

"Boo!" A Pokemon from behind the tree Lucario was leaning on, startled and surprised him. Lucario realized the Pokemon's scent as he looks back with a stunned face.

"Hee hee! Surprise aren't you?" Liligant giggled elegantly.

"Oh, um... Liligant. What are you doing here? Is there anything wrong?" Lucario questioned with somewhat an uncomfortable feeling.

"Since I've finally evolved, I was wondering if you could um... battle me," Liligant uttered with her elegant voice.

"Battle you? Um... maybe not now. Can we battle next time?" Lucario suggested while taking a nibble on his apple.

"Hmph... you're scared to hurt me aren't you?" Liligant giggled.

"Gck... Scared to hurt you? Why would I be? I am a strong and powerful Pokemon, fear is not in my system." Lucario squinted his eyes and boasted.

A nice little rest near the cascade after luch gave me and my Pokemons extra energy for our continuation later. Playing and skating on the frozen cascade was an exciting thing to do. Shaymin and Heatmor enjoyed it very much, while Gardevoir and Sceptile couldn't bear the frost. Camellia had such a great time grooming Pikachu and Sylveon, while Glade and Mienfoo trained together.

The day was going exactly as planned. When suddenly, an unexpected visit from Arc and his Pokemons occurred. It was 1:00 in the afternoon, and that's when I heard a familiar Pokemon cry. The trainer's voice was also familiar to me, it seems like they were training near the cascade as well.

I saw Bisharp arrive alongside with Arc. Our eyes came in contact with each other, it's been a long time since I've first met him. Just by his eyes, I noticed how strong Arc has become. Of course, I challenged him, but he neglected my request.

"Arc! Long time no see!" I beamed with joy and pleasure while running towards him.

"Oh... Kalem. You're here as well?" Arc gave me a pleasant smile while waving his hands.

Arc's name immediately caught Glade and Camellia's attention. They went out of their tents to greet the world champion.

"Arc, since it has been a long time since we last met, will you be willing to battle me?" I begged with determination.

"Oh sorry to burst your bubble, but I'm not here to battle. I came here to train with my Pokemons, especially with my bench team." Arc explained.

"Bench team!? So you must've caught new Pokemons right? Can you show them to me, please!" I begged with eagerness and enthusiasm.

"Um... alright. I'll show you one of them, but the rest? It'll remain a secret for the Pokemon League. Me and my Pokemons have been training hard and tough! One gym badge remains for us." Arc boasted.

"One gym badge? Does that mean you've defeated the gym leader in Glacevelt city?" Camellia inquired.

"Of course! I defeated all six of her Pokemons with only my Bisharp and his Guillointine attack." Arc tried to impress Camellia but she wasn't buying it.

"...Anyways, I want all of you to meet my new Pokemon. A Psychic and Fighting, Gallade come out now!" Arc tosses Gallade's Pokemon to the sky. Although I've encountered a lot of Gallades already, Arc's Gallade looks stronger and fiercer.

Gallade's attention was quickly caught by my Gardevoir's grace. It was like time has stopped for Arc's new Pokemon.

"My name is Gallade, and who might you be fair maiden?" Gallade uttered like a knight, trying to impress the fairest maiden in the land.

"Hmph!" Gardevoir is surely not falling for Gallade's charm. She kicked Gallade in the face and rejected the Pokemon's attractive moves.

"I guess opposites contrasts huh?" Arc giggled while watching Gallade trying his best to impress Gardevoir.

"Say, Arc! Since you can't accept my battle... Why don't we have a mega battle instead! That stone on Gallade's neck, it's a mega stone right?" I questioned.

"A mega battle between Gardevoir and Gallade? Eh... Still no. I'll be doing a three on three battle with you if you help me." Arc dealt.

"Sure! Help you with what!? I'll do anything as long as I could battle you later. Give me the details!" I beamed with excitement and eagerness.

"Ok... just come with me. Tag your friends along if you wish."

"Sure, Glade, Camellia! Wanna come with us?" I coaxed while forcing them to come.

"Who will take care of our Pokemons while we're gone? I think it is a bad idea to leave them alone." Camellia troubled with worry and concern for her Pokemons.

"Nah, let them interact with each other. Before they'll know it, we'll be back!" Glade counseled.

After enough persuasion, Camellia concurred to come with the three of us. We left our Pokemons back in the camp while we help Arc with his conquest.

Things weren't going according to plan. Arc and my Pokemons weren't friendly with each other. Sometimes, they would glare and taunt at each other, especially Gardevoir and Glade. Glade didn't give up easily though, he continued to impress his so-called fairest maiden in the land.

"Do you mind!?" Gardevoir infuriated while leaning on a tree. Gallade followed and distracted Gardevoir's peaceful nap again.

"I won't stop if-"

"Please, whatever you're trying to do, it won't work." Gardevoir interrupted Gallade's statements while forcing him to leave.

"How could that be!? Did you know that my ability is charm?" Gallade boasted.

"Well yeah? My ability is Oblivious. Please just go to the other side of the cascade so I could sleep in peace." Gardevoir begged. Oblivious is a Pokemon ability that avoids the user from getting affected by charm and attract.

"Look what you have done? My heart is now like a sailboat, traveling in a stormy sea." Gallade knelt in disappointment.

"Hopefully your sailboat sinks." Gardevoir's eyes rolled.

On the other side of the cascade, Lucario and Bisharp picked up a fight. It started from a simple argument of who's better to the point that they insulted each other. Me and Glade's Pokemons are truly opposites that couldn't interact no matter what.

"My Guillointine shall slice your dog face into pieces!" Bisharp intensified the argument.

"I'll burst your aura with one attack you crazy knight before!" Lucario growled and fired back.

"Bisharp, Lucario stop fighting!" Shaymin went between them and begged them to stop the argument.

"Well your friend over here keeps boasting about his attacks!" Bisharp infuriated.

"Boasted!? Who started the fight first you crazy ax monkey!" Lucario infuriated while growling intensely.

"Please stop fighting. Both of you are unique in your own ways. It's better if we become friends with each other, rather than fighting. Staraptor and I are friends with each other, it's time for the both of you to become friends as well." Shaymin suggested while trying to calm both sides.

"Hmph! Shaymin has a point. I hate to say this, but... I'm sorry for boasting first." Bisharp apologized with an embarrassed look.

"I'm sorry too. I shouldn't have teased and mocked you." Lucario's intense growl calmed as he apologizes as well. From that day on, Lucario and Bisharp became closer, even if they belong to the opposite team.

Shaymin was able to settle fights between Arc and my Pokemons except for Gardevoir and Gallade. Gardevoir was too frustrated with Gallade that she decided to attack him with Psychic.

No matter how hard Gallade was hit, he didn't dare to attack his fairest maiden in the land. He continued to find ways to impress Gardevoir but time ran out when we returned back to the frozen cascade. Gallade felt heartbroken and sad. No matter what charm he does, Gardevoir counters back with obliviousness.

"Hey everyone! We're back." I beamed with excitement to see how well our Pokemons interacted with each other.

I was expecting to see love and care between each other, but all I saw was smoke, claw marks, and haze. Sceptile and Metagross was injured, Scizor and Salamence looked tired and worried, but Shaymin and Staraptor greeted us with a nice mile.

"Welcome back Kalem!" Shaymin greeted with a pleasant smile.

"Wh... what happened here!?" I questioned with shock and alarm.

"Oh, it's nothing. Both sides had a little fight, that's all. I and Staraptor were able to stop them. In the end, everybody became friends except for Gardevoir and Gallade." Shaymin beamed confidently.

''I guess Gardevoir and Gallade are truly meant to be opposites." I giggled while watching the two of them still arguing against each other.

"Thanks everyone! I would like to thank all of you for helping me find a Sunstone. It's important for my other bench team members." Arc greeted.

Yes, you heard right. It turns out, Arc needs a Sunstone as well. We went back to the cave to gather another piece, but this time, there was no barter in between just like last time. It looks like we were lucky to find one deep inside the cave.

"And just like what I promised, I'll be battling you Kalem!" Arc's passion for battling started to heat up. The word "Battle" caught our Pokemons' attention while determination and spirit flowed through their veins.

"Oh and by the way. I want a double battle and not just a single one. This is so that your friends can also join in the fun. Camellia, what do you say we partner up?" Arc suggested.

"Sorry but no thank you." Camellia declined.

"Yes! Can I be your tag partner instead!? It'll be an honor to fight with the world champion." Glade interrupted.

"Ok then, I guess it's me and you against Kalem and Camellia. Glade, we got this!" Arc beamed with determination and exuberance alongside with a Glade.

A fiery battle between me and Camellia against Glade and Arc is about to commence. Who will reign supreme over this frosty wonderland!? Stay tuned, to find out the answer!
