Chapter 179: EPISODE 179: Argument in Between!
"There you are! Where have the two of you been, and... Kira, you're here as well!?" Glade beamed with shock and awe. He stood up from the chair he was sitting on filled with boredom and tedium. His tone when he saw us, was filled with frustration, his face told us, "I'm fed up from waiting!"
"Glade... we can explain," Camellia uttered with a trembling and guilty voice.
"Of course you have to explain! I've been waiting for more than two hours! Two hours!" Glade infuriated and beamed with frustration.
"We went to the daycare center to adopt a Pokemon. Sorry for rushing Camellia and my cousin to join me." Kira apologized with a guilty look on her face.
"Adopt a Pokemon!? You went to the Day Care Center without me!?" Glade's head beamed with red boiling blood while frustration and anger ran through every bone of his body.
"Don't be mad... We've adopted a Pokemon just for you. It's a fighting type Pokemon." I calmed and steadied.
"Really... you got one for me too?" Glade's frustration declined and dwindled.
"Yup, meet Mienfoo!" Mienfoo was sent out of his Pokeball. His first impression on Glade was blissful and wonderful. Their eyes met, it was like time has stopped for the two of them. Love at first sight perhaps?
"You look so adorable..." Glade uttered softly with sparkles on his eyes. He rubbed Mienfoo's hair gently like a father.
<Mienfoo... foo>The Pokemon's eyes sparkled back. He pressed Glade's two cheeks together and played with it.
"Well what do you know? Mienfoo likes you!" Camellia beamed with joy while watching Glade and Mienfoo stare at each other.
"So... um Glade, we're really sorry for not telling you." I apologized while scratching the back of my head. My face was filled with guilt and humiliation.
"It's fine. Mienfoo, is a great apology gift. Plus, my team is finally complete!" Glade beamed with excitement and determination while his frustration dispersed down to the deepest depths of his body.
"I also want to show you three something. Come out, Blastoise and Excadrill!"
<Blast! Blast!><Exca!!!>Both Pokemons showed their ferocious and vicious looks. It intimidated Shaymin and Camellia's new Pikachu.
<Pi! Pika Pi!>Pikachu's body trembled with fear.
"Pikachu, no need to cry. They're friendly Pokemons, I promise." Camellia grabbed Pikachu from the ground, she hugged her tightly in order to comfort and solace her fear.
"They evolved! I want to battle you right now. I have a new Pokemon waiting to debut." I beamed with eagerness and enthusiasm.
"Hmph! You promised to battle me first remember?" Kira reminded and prompted.
"We'll battle next time Kalem. You and your cousin must battle. Family first!" Glade giggled and sent back his two ferocious Pokemons.
"Then it's on Kira! Let's do this right away. I'll prove to you that I'll be the next champion." I beamed with enthusiasm and eagerness.
"Oh cousin, stop boasting. Everybody knows that I'm the next champion." Kira giggled and teased.
"Then, that'll make me the referee!" Glade raised his hand and volunteered. He held Mienfoo on his hands while refereeing and umpiring the match.
"I guess that means me and Pikachu will be cheering for the both of you. It's my first time to see a battle against two siblings." Camellia sat on a chair while grooming Pikachu's hair.
"This will be a broad battle! The battle ends when either side has no longer Pokemons to battle with." Glade instructed.
"Um, what's a broad battle?" I questioned with confusion while tilting my head sideways.
"You're a Pokemon trainer yet you don't know what a broad battle is!? How surprising..." Kira giggled and teased.
"A broad battle is a six on six Pokemon battle, a fragment battle is a three on three Pokemon battle, while a quarter battle is a two on two Pokemon battle. A one on one Pokemon battle is called Single Match-ups. These terms are usually used in Pokemon Leagues, so better study and remember them.
You don't want to end up facing an opponent with one Pokemon don't you? In the Pokemon League, they're not going to use the words "ONE" "TWO" "THREE" and "SIX". The PLC keeps things professional, even the word 'Pokemon' they call it 'Pocket Monster'" Glade explained and elaborated.
"Alright, a broad battle it is! I'm prepared." My enthusiasm and eagerness returned.

"Please send out your first Pokemon!" Glade instructed.
"Nine lives, Ninetails, come out Ninetales!" Kira chanted.
"Scizor, come out right now!" I tossed with confidence.
"How typical of you. Using a weak disadvantage against my Pokemon?"
"Oh, you'll wait and see! Scizor is one of my best Pokemons. He'll prove it right Scizor?"
"The match is ours!" Scizor boasted.
"Go Scizor! Go Ninetales!" Camellia, Shaymin, and Pikachu cheered from behind.
"Let the battle begin right now!"
"Ninetales, use Flamethrower now!"
"Scizor, dodge then use Flash Cannon!"
*Scizor dodged the attack swiftly just like using teleportation. As usual, he followed his instincts and attacked from behind.*
"It's fast and strong at the same time!? No matters, Ninetales keep a keen eye on Scizor!"
"Scizor circle around Ninetales then use X-Scissors!"
<Sciz! Sciz! Scizor!>Scizor's speed was too immense. Ninetales was unable to keep up with Scizor's eyes. Scizor's X-Scissors dealt maximum damage.
"Ninetales, please use Overheat right now! Try dodging that." Kira taunted.
*A surge of fire filled the sky, air, and land. Escaping was not an option, plus it was super effective on Scizor. Scizor's type is steel and bug, both are weak against fire. In return, Ninetale's attack declined.*
"Great Ninetales, finish with Fire Fang!"
"Scizor, flash cannon now!"
*While Ninetales traveled towards Scizor, the foe was blasted back with a powerful flash cannon!*
"Quick Scizor, use X-Scissors once more to finish up Ninetales!"
"Not if Ninetales finishes you up first, use Overheat!"
<Sciz! Sciz! Scizor!>Scizor's attack was canceled. Once the snow settled across thin air, Scizor was found fainted on icy snow.
"Scizor is unable to battle! Trainer Kalem, please choose your next Pokemon." Glade instructed.

"Scizor, have a good rest. Shaymin, wanna know how it feels like to battle?"
"It'll be an honor Kalem!" Shaymin leaped into action.
"A mythical Pokemon. Shouldn't you be using Pokemons unprohibited by the PLC?" Kira questioned.
"This is an unofficial battle anyways. Just let it be, or are you scared to battle a mythical Pokemon? Hmm?" I teased.
"Fine! I'll allow Shaymin to battle. It is a grass type after all. It's weak against fire types. Ninetales, stay firm!"
"Battle Continue!" Glade commenced.
"Ninetales, use Flame Wheel let's go!"
"Shaymin dodge and fly to the sky!"
"Right... I forgot that your Shaymin is under its Sky Forme, silly me. Ninetales, use Overheat!"
"Shaymin, energy ball on the ground now!"
*Snow scattered throughout the sky. It's cold and chilly attributes caused the fire to cool down.*
"Shaymin, now follow it up with Magical Leaf!"
<Shay! Shay!>Leaves surrounded with auras charged towards Ninetales.
"Ninetales is no longer able to battle! Please send out your next Pokemon Trainer Kira." Glade instructed.

"An air battle it is! Altaria, come out now!"
"A dragon and Flying-type. This is one tough battle." I beamed with enthusiasm as determination boiled inside my blood.
"Tsk.... tsk, not yet! Altaria, mega evolve right now!"
"What!? When did you earn a mega stone?" I questioned.
"Secret... hee hee! Altaria, wings of the brave-hearted sky, surround us with courage! Let the spirit of dragons flow through your mind and soul, now come forth and mega evolve!" Altaria turned into a maiden. Its white fur became much more fluffier and satiny.
"Altaria, use Dragon Rush right now!"
"Shaymin, dodge it quickly!" A dragon silhouette surrounding Altaria's body came forth and nibbled Shaymin. Its speed was boosted, even a mythical Pokemon wasn't able to keep up.
"Surprise aren't you cousin? Altaria, please use Dragon Rush again!"
"Shaymin, quick use Dazzling Gleam!"
*The dragon's mouth opened widely and ferociously. This is when Shaymin unleashed her attack. Fairy type moves were super effective against dragon types. The dazzling gleam made the large dragon silhouette explode alongside with Mega Altaria.*
"Your strategies seem to surprise me all the time! Altaria, use Acrobatics right now."
"Shaymin no!"
*Mega Altaria wrecked Shaymin with its powerful claws. Shaymin was sent back to the ground! Good thing the ground was filled with fluffy snow.*
"Shaymin is no longer able to battle! Please choose your next Pokemon Kalem!" Glade instructed.
"I guess, I'm not fit for battling," Shaymin uttered with disappointment while walking back to Camellia.
"Shaymin, you did a good job. Remember, it's your first time to battle. So, don't get too disappointed." I cheered and comforted.
"But, I'm a mythical Pokemon! I should be strong and powerful!" Shaymin complained.
"Even Riolu could defeat a Sceptile. No matter what you are, it is what we do with the gift of life which determines who we are. You'll be strong one day!"
"Ok... I'll just wait and sit on the corner." Shaymin uttered softly and walked slowly back to Camellia, Pikachu and Riolu.
"Gardevoir, it's your turn, finish up Mega Altaria!"
"Battle Continue!" Glade proclaimed.
"Gardevoir, mediator between the light and dark, show them your true colors! Prove to them that nothing could stop you. Mega evolve right now!" I chanted loudly while Gardevoir changes form.
"A Mega battle? Alright then... Altaria, use Aerial Ace!"
<Gar... Gar... Gar...>Gardevoir dodged the moves with style and elegance. Altaria chased Gardevoir everywhere, from the ground to the skies above, Gardevoir dodged by teleporting.
"Gardevoir, use Fairy Tempest!"
"Mega move!? Alright then, Altaria... use Draco Nightmare!"
*Two attacks charged forth towards each other. Once was filled with a dragon and fiery spirit, while the other was filled with elegance and beauty. Draco Nightmare is a burst move. It sends out a powerful orange beam towards the foe. Dragon against fairy, who would win?*
"Gardevoir, full power now!"
"Altaria, I believe in you!"
Both of us encouraged our Pokemons with blissful words. The two moves started to overheat. The center experienced to much heat and power, it exploaded and damaged both of the Pokemons.
The sky filled with ice, as we look and see which pokemon would faint. Our hearts pounded loudly. Everything seemed loud, Camellia's cheer, Shaymin's cheer, the rustling grass, and the falling snow, everything was boisterous.
"Altaria and Gardevoir are unable to battle! Both trainers please send out your next Pokemon." Glade instructed.
"Thank you Gardevoir, it looks like Draco Meteor has no exemption against type disadvantages. Now, it is your turn to shine Sceptile!"
"Oh Altaria, you deserve a treat later. Please rest and recover inside your Pokeball. Gothitelle, it is up to you now!"

"Let the battle commence once more!"
"Sceptile, use Frenzy Plant!"
*Gothitelle was wrapped around with thick and large roots ascending and emerging from the ground.*
"Use Psychic and push the roots away!"
<Goth! Goth!>Suddenly, Frenzy Plant was under the foe's control. The roots removed their grip on the foe as it slowly withers away.
"Gothitelle, use Psyshock right now!"
"Sceptile, quick, protect yourself with Dragon Claw!"
*Sceptile crossed his claws together with Dragon Claw. Psyshock was only able to push Sceptile by an inch.*
"Great Sceptile, now use Leaf Blade!"
"Gothitelle!" Kira screamed with panic.
"Now, use Acrobatics, don't give Gothitelle an opportunity!" Gothitelle was unable to attack. The powerful Acrobatics attack was able to keep Gothitelle's mind distracted and preoccupied. The foe tried her best to figure out a way to escape.
"Now, finish Gothitelle with Dragon Claw!"
<Sceptile! Sceptile!>Sceptile's claws turned purple. It slashed Gothitelle harshly.
"Gothitelle is unable to battle. Please send out your next Pokemon Trainer Kira."
"That was a quick battle. I guess Sceptile is really powerful. Gothitelle, rest, and return to your Pokeball."

"Machoke, boast to them your brute strength!"
"I see, so you're planning to use a Machoke! Bring it on Kira, I'm not holding back."
"That's what I expect from a cousin like you! Machoke, use Fire Punch right now!"
"Sceptile, Frenzy Plant to counter!"
"Machoke, chop those roots with Fire Punch!"
*The roots were chopped, while some of them incinerated.*
<Sceptile!>Machoke's fire punch reflected inside Sceptile's left eye. Super effective!
"Machoke, continue! Use Fire punch again and again!"
"Sceptile, kick Machoke's foot right now!"
"Hehe, Machoke use Mega kick!"
*Sceptile's plan was countered. Instead of Sceptile kicking the foe, it was the foe that kicked Sceptile back! The foe's Mega kick was immense and strong.*
"Machoke, now use Dynamic Punch and Finish Sceptile!"
<Sceptile!>Sceptile withstood the foe's attack with his fist. Sceptile turned green while he's eyes became blood moons.
"No way, Sceptile's ability has been activated. Chlorophyll boosts the user's grass type moves under critical circumstances." Camellia explained.
"Thanks for the information Camellia, now use Leaf Blade!"
<Sceptile!>Sceptile shouted loudly while dealing twice the damage! Sceptile's Cholopyll was a sign of hope.
"Machoke, stay strong! Use Fire Punch now!"
"Sceptile, use Frenzy Plant!"
"Do the same strategy, chop them down!"
<Mach! Mach! Machoke>Machoke tried its best to chop down the roots but for some reason, the roots were much stronger. It withstand fire and power.
"It must be because of Chlorophyll," I uttered with awe while watching her Machoke succumbed by the roots.
<Machoke!>Machoke descended back to the ground.
"Machoke is no longer able to battle! Trainer Kira please send out your next Pokemon."

"Come out Swinub!"
"Alright, we'll defeat Swinub easily! Let's do this Sceptile!"
<Sceptile!>Sceptile beamed with determination.
"Swinub, use Ice Shard right now!"
"Sceptile use dragon claw and slice them down! Then use Leaf Blade on Swinub."
"Swinub quick, use Tackle!"
Sceptile was pushed back. Small but terrible Swinub is.
"That Tackle was immense." I beamed with awe.
"Of course, don't mock Swinub's small and fluffy size! Use Powder Snow quick!"
<Swi! Swi!>Swinub froze the foe!
"Oh no, now I've got a bigger fish to fry!"
"Swinub, please use Ice shard!"
*Do not underestimate Swinub's small size. Power is greater than size!*
"Sceptile is unable to battle. Please send out your next Pokemon trainer Kalem!" Glade commanded.
"I can't believe we lost to a small Pokemon. Come out Heatmor!"
<Heatmor!>Heatmor's flames intimidated the foe.
"Heatmor, use Incinerate right now!"
"Swinub, counter with Powder Snow!"
*Incinerate burned down Swinub's attacks. It was unable to attack.*
"Greatwork Heatmor, now use Fire Blast!"
"So that's Kalem's new Pokemon. Astounding." Glade uttered softly while observing the battle.
<Swi! Swinub!>Swinub was unable to react quickly.
"Swinub is unable to battle! Trainer Kira, please send out your last Pokemon!"

"Thank you Swinub, you worked hard. It was your first time to battle anyways. Now it's your turn to battle Chandelure!"
"Well what do you know? Lampent evolved into Chandelure! Keep a sharp eye Heatmor!"
<Heat! Heat!>Heatmor beamed with determination and certainty will showing off its strong powerful moves.
"Chandelure, use Night Shade!"
"What!? You didn't use a fire attack."
"Of course I didn't! I know your plan Kalem, Flash Fire won't activate! Hee... hee, now use Shadow ball Chandelure!"
"Heatmor, dodge it then use Incinerate!"
"Hee hee! Chandelure, dodge the attack then use Shadow Ball again!"
*Heatmor's attack missed! Chandelure's shadow ball dealt maximum damage.*
"Use Incinerate again!"
"Accept the attack Chandelure!"
*Chandelure allowed itself to be hit with Incinerate.*
"Chandelure, now use Shadow Ball again!"
"Dodge it with dig!"
"Blast the ground with Shadow Ball!"
*The Shadow Ball cracked open and Heatmor's cover was destroyed. Snow is softer and more brittle than rocks and boulders.*
"Now Use Night Shade on Heatmor!" Chandelure saw Heatmor through the opening.
<Heat!>Heatmor uttered with pain.
"Heatmor is no longer able to battle! Trainer Kalem, please choose your last Pokemon!"
"Heatmor, take a good rest. We'll train someday so you could become stronger! Buddy, I need you now!"
"Leave this battle to me!" Riolu smiled and beamed with exuberance and enthusiasm. He leaps towards action while doing his fighting stance.
"Kalem has a disadvantage since Chandelure is a ghost type Pokemon," Camellia uttered softly while observing the battle.
"Chandelure use Inferno!"
"Inferno!?" Inferno's power was extremely immense. I've never seen such a strong attack hit my buddy Riolu. He was able to withstand it though, but his body started to pile up with a few scratches due to the attack.
"Hee hee! Chandelure's ability is also flash fire!"
"So that means, you've used Incinerate to boost Chandelure's fighting type attacks," I concluded.
"Riolu, Use Dizzy Punch on the foe!"
"Chandelure, use Shadow Ball and blast Riolu back!"
<Rio!>Riolu blasted back towards the snow. It was unable to punch or surpass shadow ball since ghost type attacks are resilient against fighting types.
"Chandelure, use Fire Blast!"
"Riolu, extinguish the flames with Vacuum wave!"
*The wind circulating Riolu's arm served as a fire extinguisher. Chandelure's attack was blown and extinguished.*
"Chandelure, please use Night Shade on Riolu!"
<Riolu!>Riolu had no escape due to the 100% accuracy of nightshade. Aside from its accuracy, the nightshade was extremely effective against Riolu.
"Riolu, please stand up now! I need you." I begged and encouraged.
Riolu's body was filled with scars and scratches. His whole body ached while trying to lift his self up. Sweat tears fell off, while glaring at the foe.
"Riolu, I believe in you! I believe in you!" I beamed with encouragement and conviction.
"I believe in you..." These words uttered on Riolu's mind. It inspired him to lift his body despite the burdens it bears. My voice continued to echo in Riolu's mind. His body trembled while pushing himself up.
"I can't lose now... Kalem is counting on me!" Riolu used all his strength to rise up. Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall.
"Bring it on Chandelure!" Riolu beamed with enthusiasm. Riolu's body started to glow again. A mystic veil surrounded him while the evolutionary process took place again.
"Riolu, this is your perfect opportunity! Don't stop the evolution process." I beamed with joy while watching Riolu evolve finally.
"Ah!" Riolu beamed with rage and hesitated to evolve again. The veil disappeared, alongside with the white glow surrounding Riolu.
"Riolu! Why did you hesitate again!?" I infuriated slightly.
"I don't need to evolve! I can finish Chandelure without evolution." Riolu beamed with anger while glaring at Chandelure.
"Chandelure, use Shadow Ball!"
"Riolu, you're going to talk and explain after this battle! Dodge the attack now!" I beamed with frustration.
"..." Riolu's body was unable to react quickly. Shadow Ball was supper effective again.
"The Tsunagu, it didn't activate." Camellia noticed while watching Riolu battle.
"Riolu is no longer able to battle, which means to winner is Trainer Kira and Chandelure!" Glade announced.
"Chandelure, great job! You did it. Now return to your Pokeball. I'll give you a nice treat later-huh?"
"This was all your fault Riolu! If you evolved, then we could've defeated Chandelure."
"If you commanded me a move right away, I could've dodged the attack! So stop blaming me." Riolu and I infuriated against each other. It was able to catch my cousin's attention as such as Glade and Camellia.
"Oh you're blaming me!? Who's the Pokemon, me or you?"
"Your the trainer Kalem! You should've commanded me right away I was only following orders."
"Kalem, Riolu, stop fighting!" Kira went between and interrupted.
"Hmph! If only you were able to evolve. Why did you hesitate!?"
"Why do you want me to evolve!? What's so great about evolving. I don't need to evolve just to become stronger, so please stop asking why I am hesitating! I hate evolving!" Riolu infuriated loudly.
"Hate evolving!? I've never seen a Pokemon not willing to evolve. Look at our team Riolu, only you and Dragonair remain! Do you expect me to win the league without your evolved form!?"
"Kalem, don't you... trust me? Don't you trust me that I could win the league for you, even if I don't evolve?" Riolu uttered solemnly while tears drenched down his eyes.
"Kalem please stop arguing with Riolu. Things will only worsen." Camellia warned.
"I thought... you were different from other trainers. It turns you're one of them, a trainer who persues in power." Riolu uttered solemnly while walking away.
"Riolu... wait," I begged while realizing my mistake. Once again, I was harsh on my buddy. Forcing Pokemon to evolve, I should've realized that before infuriating.
"If you don't trust me... why am I still your Pokemon? What's my worth being with you?" Riolu started to weep heavily while running to the woods.
"What have I done!?" I knelt down with sorrow realizing that I pushed my buddy away. We won countless match without him evolving. I guess Riolu's frequent hesitation to evolve bothered and triggered me a lot. Riolu has a point, I'm the trainer, my purpose is to train and call out moves to my Pokemon. If only, I didn't infuriate... things would be better.
