Chapter 81: EPISODE 81: Knowledge Mystery

"I Camellia, therefore conclude that the marauder of the Corsola horn is no other than..." Camellia dictated with her detective attitude.

Earlier this morning...

We've been walking for almost four days now in the hot sand of the Silvent Desert. We faced thirst, problems, ad battles, but we were able to surpass them. Two days ago, I battled Arc, the World Champion! Even if I lost against him, at least I and Riolu learned new tactics and strategies to use. Me and Riolu's determination exceeded its own limits, I'm getting stronger, I can feel it!

"We're finally here!" Camellia uttered with a relieving smile.

"Finally! We've made it to Lake Knowledge!" Glade uttered in relief.

"Now, this is an opportunity for us to gather water for our remaining days at the Silvent Desert." Zhery beamed with excitement.

"Hey, but why is officer Jenny there?" I pointed and queried with confusion.

"Hmm, there must be an ongoing investigation... Something must've happened." Camellia hunched.

"Then, why don't we help officer Jenny!" I suggested and beamed with excitement.

"Now, now! Don't run off again like a little kid." Zhery teased and pulled my jacket just before I rushed again.

"Alright, fine..." I uttered softly.

Lake Knowledge is surrounded by a town called Enkephalos town! It is one of the oldest towns in this vast region. Enkephalos means "Brain" which suits the name of the Lake, Lake Knowledge!

Enkephalos is just a small town, the houses circled the vast lake. The town also has a Pokemon Mart, Pokemon Center, Pokemon Market, and their very own Pokemon School! First things first and that's to find an inn to sleep in for the next three days here in town.

If you're asking why we're going to stay in Enkephalos city for three days, I'll tell you why! Once every three hundred years, a super crescent moon shines over the lake. The super crescent moon only lasts for two hours, in these hours, a Pokemon shall descend back into the lake. Locals say that if you ask the Pokemon for blessings, it shall be given to you! That's why every 300 years, when the super crescent moon shines brightly, the town's people prepare a feast and festival in honor of the descending Pokemon.

Me and my friends were just in a nick of time! I want to see the descending Pokemon, I want to be blessed with the power of determination and great battling skills so when I enter the league? I'll win it for sure! (Hopefully)

When we arrived in town, we saw officer Jenny talking to five strange persons. Beside officer, Jenny was a small and cute Pokemon looking sad and worried. The Pokemon had a pink body for the upper half while the lower half was filled with a blue pigment, this Pokemon looked like a coral since it had pink spikes over its back.

"Now tell me who stole the Corsola horn?" Officer Jenny queried with suspiciousness towards the five strange persons wherein three of them were males and two of them were females. It's morning when we arrived.

"Hey officer Jenny! Long time no say!" I rushed and waved.

"Oh um, have I met you before?" Officer Jenny queried in confusion.

"Yes remember, at route two? With the Mankeys? At the toll?" I recalled.

"Oh! Route two, you must be talking about my sister Officer Jenny!" Officer Jenny explained.

"Oh that's right, I forgot, you have a lot of siblings!" I beamed and apologized.

"That reminds me, officer, what are you doing here?" Glade queried with eagerness.

"Well these are my suspects! One of them stole Corsola's Corsola horn! No one wants to admit who stole them so I have to investigate further." Officer Jenny explained with her eyes peeled towards the five strange persons.

"Looks like that's a word for a detective!" Camellia uttered while posing near a post with her detective styles.

"Here we go again!" Zhery facepalmed.

"Is there something wrong with your friend?" Officer Jenny queried.

"Um, nope! She's always like that when there's a mystery to be solved." I explained.

"Oh really? That would be great, someone can help me!" Officer Jenny beamed with joy.

"She's surely going to make a suspect..." Glade whispered.

"Yeah, Camellia's gonna make us suspects! No way am I going to be interviewed as well." Zhery complained.

"Let Camellia do her thing, at least we know that we're innocent!" I explained and comforted.

"Officer Jenny, may I please know the name of the following suspects?" Camellia begged.

"Yeah sure, alright the five of you! Introduce yourselves to the young detective!" Officer Jenny instructed.

"I'm Bob, and I'm just a plain janitor. I don't steal things." Bob introduced and explained.

"I am Robert, and I'm just a normal fisherman! I swear, I didn't steal the Corsola horn!" Robert introduced and explained.

"My name is Dave, and I'm an ordinary teacher at the Pokemon School. I don't steal someone's belongings." Dave explained.

"My name is Amelia, I'm just an ordinary chef at a nearby restaurant. I just cook food for the people." Amelia introduced and explained.

"And I am Wendy, I'm an ordinary girl who lives near the lake." Wendy introduced and explained.

"Alright, one of you is the robber... now, each of you tell me your business in the lake!" Camellia instructed with her detective accent.

"Wow, your friend is good!" Officer Jenny complimented.

"She literally told me that I stole my own stuff before!" I exclaimed.

"I was just cleaning the lakefront, I didn't see any Corsola horns at that time. My boss always told me not to steal anything I see that looks valuable. I didn't see anything valuable except for a pair of slippers." Bob explained.

"Me? I just went fishing! The lake was abundant with different water Pokemons in the morning so I decided to catch em all! Haha!" Robert explained.

"I was drinking my tea at Amelia's restaurant. Then, I just walked by the lakefront on my way home when suddenly I saw officer Jenny and Corsola." Robert explained.

"I was walking by the lakefront after looking for ingredients in the market, but they said they were sold out so I decided to go back to my restaurant, then I saw officer Jenny and Corsola asking me to stop walking," Amelia explained.

"Me? I figured that it was a good time to walk at the lakefront, so that's what I did! I walked with my partner Pokemon Psyduck! I also decided to pass by Amelia's restaurant to eat breakfast there." Wendy explained.

"Hmm, all of your statements seem normal to me except for Amelia, Wendy, and Dave's statement!" Camellia uttered with suspiciousness towards the three.

"Huh!? Are you saying that we stole the Corsola horn!?" Dave wondered.

"Let's see, how can you be drinking tea if Amelia is at the market buying her ingredients. Meaning, there were no ingredients for the tea yet!" Camellia explained.

"And for Wendy's statement, why would you go to the restaurant if Amelia is buying her ingredients. You couldn't eat breakfast at that time right?" Camellia added.

"For Amelia's description... I haven't heard of any markets opening this early in the morning? If the market was open, how could they be sold out right away? It's still morning right?" Camellia added.

"Amelia may be gone but her restaurant was open. I even saw Wendy coming to the restaurant at that time." Dave explained.

"Oh yeah, I saw Dave as well. Me and Psyduck ordered breakfast there." Wendy explained.

"It was early in the morning, so the seller's products hasn't arrived yet. They were still being delivered." Amelia explained.

"Hmm, one thing! Why would you go home Dave? If you were a teacher aren't you supposed to be going to school and not at home? It's not a weekend today." Camellia explained.

"It was a holiday, since a festival would be held in two days time. The school suspended all the classes to give way for the preparations." Dave answered.

"Now, Amelia's statements are contradicting! In your first statement, you said they ran out! In your second statement, you said the products were not yet in the restaurant!" Camellia explained.

"As for Wendy and her Psyduck... They seem to be innocent." Camellia explained.

"Now, the three of you! Tell me what you were doing on the lakefront!" Camellia instructed.

"Me, I was just looking at the lake. I saw Robert fishing as well." Amelia explained.

"I was just walking to the restaurant, that's all," Dave explained.

"I saw Bob cleaning the floor while I walked past the lake," Wendy explained.

"If you saw Robert fishing, tell me... How many fish did Robert catch, a few or many?" Camellia queried.

"There were only a few fish in Robert's net," Amelia answered.

"Aha! Your statement contradicts Robert's statement! Robert said that the lake was abundant with fish. I agree with Robert's statement since A lot of fish appear during moonset and moonrise. Or in other words, morning!" Camellia answered.

"So, you're saying I stole the Corsola horn!? Impossible! Look at my pockets, there's nothing!" Amelia exaggerated.

"Since there was no stock in the market, you stole the Corsola horn so that you could use it for your recipes!" Camellia explained.

"But a Corsola horn is a stone and not a fruit! I don't steal people's belongings!" Amelia explained.

"Wendy and Dave seem to be suspicious as well, if there was no stock in the restaurant how were you given breakfast and tea?" Camellia questioned.

"I ordered an Omelet for breakfast since that's what they have left," Wendy explained.

"Me? I bought green tea since that's my only available option." Dave explained.

"Green tea? Omelet? Hmm... Tell me, Bob, did you see Wendy passing by?" Camellia queried.

"Nope, I didn't see Wendy. I was cleaning the floor."

"You're a liar! I saw you cleaning!" Wendy contradicted.

"I Camellia, therefore conclude that the marauder of the Corsola horn is no other than..." Camellia dictated with her detective attitude.

Wendy and Bob began to fight when all of a sudden Psyduck began to choke.

<Psy! Psy!> The Pokemon shouts in pain as it spits something outside its mouth.

"Psyduck are you alright?" Wendy queried in relief.

<Psyduck Psy!> The Pokemon beams happily.

<Cor? Corsola!>The Pokemon rushes to the object Psyduck spat out.

"What!? The robber of the Corsola Horn was no other than Psyduck!?" Camellia uttered and knelt in disappointment.

"So that means, everybody was telling the truth! Wendy must've seen Bob but Bob didn't see Wendy since he was working! Robert just started fishing that's why Amelia saw a few fish on Robert's net. It's possible that the reason why the stocks are being delivered to the market is because they ran out of stocks! Dave and Wendy must've gone to the restaurant to order food that was still available which is Omelet and Green Tea." I observed and examined.

"How did you become this smart!?" Glade queried in shock.

"Nothing, I just observed what was happening," I explained.

"But how could the Corsola horn go to Psyduck's belly?" Zhery queried.

"When Bob was probably cleaning, he must've swept the Corsola Horn and while Wendy was walking, Psyduck must've seen the Corsola horn. Psyduck probably thought that it was food, that's why he ate it." I hunched.

"Is that true Psyduck!?" Wendy scolded.

<Psy...Psy..>The Pokemon nodded with embarrassment.

"So which means everyone is innocent!" Officer Jenny proclaimed.

"Psyduck didn't mean to steal anything, Psyduck was just hungry that's all!" I explained and smiled at the embarrassed Pokemon.

"Looks like I've overdone things again!" Camellia uttered with disappointment.

"Your skills will improve Camellia, just keep on practicing!" I comforted.

"Kalem's right! I see a future officer!" Officer Jenny charmed.

"But I want to become a professor not an officer!" Camellia uttered with disappointment.

"Then let me paraphrase, you'll be a great professor one day!" Officer Jenny charmed.

It turns out that the Corsola horn wasn't stolen. It was mistaken as a food! Psyduck loves to eat anything it sees in the pat. Everybody was innocent, no one stole the horn, and tranquility in the town was restored! Two more days left before the festival!
