Chapter 2: Lea’s day.
I call it tragedy, hell, mental torture, pain, but it was simply as a word. A word that nobody has a cure, nobody has control over it, nobody has a reason to have it but want it, anyways. A word that makes the world either melt their hearts or broke into pains. That word is "LOVE".
Iris, my gorgeous cousin, she's coming to my town this week as an abroad student. As I said, we couldn't be her host, and I am sad and mad. Oh shit, today is the day; I'm so stupid
"Mom? Iris is coming here today." I said
"And?" Mom replied coldly.
"Can I pick her up?" I said in a high pitch voice
"Sure. But a heads up, I'm going on a date with Fred tonight" Mom said with her voice also excited as well.
"No big deal, I can ask for sleepovers" It became a habit of me asking for sleepovers.
"Drive safe, then!" Mom said
I watched some Netflix and waited time to fly. I texted Iris.
When should I pick u up?"
"No, don't pick me up, meet me at this address 3479 XXXXX Dr" Weird, why does this sounds familiar?
"Would it be weird to ask whose house is that?" I swear, I wasn't being curious at all.
"My host"
"C ya"
"Bai"
I brought some clean clothes, and I picked up some snacks at Target for her. Then, I drive to the address, I thought that I was dreaming but well.
I knocked on the door once, and then twice. I rung the bells and said "Who could be this damn jerk" as the door opened.
"This damn jerk has a friend named Azalea and has two thumbs." point at himself "That's right; it's me."
"Darcy Smith? Am I dreaming?" I said
"I didn't see you there, Lea." He said. I rolled my eyes.
"Lea?" Iris said
"Iris! Was'sup?"
"What?!" Darcy kinda yelled. He pulled me over. "I'll be right inside with Lea, Iris."
"How do you know her?" His curiosity raised
"She's my cousin and my first crush. Why?"
"Oh, the one who made you cry and that's when I first approached you, and I ruined my fame for you?"
"Umhm" I did that because it was true. "Do you have a crush on her?"
"Maybe?!" His voice sounded very funny when he said that.
"You should totally hit her up; she's straight. Not bisexual, like me." My volume kind goes down.
"Hey, don't say that! Having a bisexual friend is fun, k?"
"If it's fun, can I sleepover at ur house?" I am a opportunity catcher.
"If you help me hitting on her!"
"Thanks!" I fist bumped him.
I walked inside the house. Definitely nothing changed, despite the fact that Darcy bought more video games. The kitchen is right next to the living room, which is right in the center of first floor. The dim light in the living room, really hit it differently. The kitchen, where Mrs.Smith was standing, was supper clean even though Mrs.Smith and Iris is cooking at the time. I went directly to the kitchen.
"Lea! It's been a long time since you came." Mrs.Smith greeted me
"Guess you'll see this face more often from now on."
"What? No way, don't tell me you and Darcy are dating?"
"Of course not, Iris is my cousin and my mom is dating Fred, and I needed sleepovers."
"You know, you can come here,right?"
"That is great. Thanks a lots. Is there anything I can help for dinner?"
"You just splatter your elbow and ankle, what do you want to burn next?" Mrs. Smith probably heard this from Darcy.
"But that was because of volleyball!"
"And you are not helping me today!" Mrs.Smith dismissed me out of the kitchen.
"Hey guys!" I went in the living room.
"Hey yourself!" Said Sam
"S'up" said Brian
"Looks who this boring person is? Azalea Pham." Said Leo. He likes to tease me. He also knows that I hated being called Azalea.
"Go back to ur house, Leonard Kutcherousky." I know that he hated being called Leonard.
"Why are y'all so trash at this game?" Said Darcy
"I know, right?" I said
"It's easy for Darcy to say it but you, a girl?" Said Sam addressing directly toward me.
"I already played with Darcy; his level is way lower than mine. Leo, I challenge you!"
"Why me?"
"Are you serious? Or are you blind? Can you see that I am interested in you?" I said half-joking.
