Chapter 7: Back to Los Angeles

"I'll go back and write the whole script as soon as possible, and I will trouble you to help me." Alex said.

"No problem, I'll also bother you when I need some, my thoughts aren't as mature as you are. I've always feeling that I want to make something but always been a little bit worse." James said

"Can you talk a little about it and maybe I can give some thought." Alex said.

"In fact, it was a bit like you at the beginning. The protagonist woke up and found himself trapped in an abandoned room, but with another person, but it's a sealed environment.

There's an important the props are chainsaws, but I didn't think about the details, but one thing I want to focus on is to create a flesh-and-blood scene that will bring crazy visual impact to the audience." James said

The series of details of Saw also confirms that the story is still a thought that hasn't yet been fully formed.

At this moment, Alex had an idea, that he can't miss a profitable low-cost series in the history of this film.

"With such a visual impact is enough to attract an audience, but it seems that there's still a lack of action." Alex said.

"Yes, the flesh and blood is only superficial, now my thoughts still lack a deep feeling, a film that doesn't have a soul is absolutely unacceptable, and most of the current horror movies are like this.

The ugly thing to say is that it's bloody and cruel to the big screen, which is simple that it can reach a box office income, but I've to do it differently from other films, I need to find another good idea, but always feels a little bit lacking." James said.

"It needs to take time, maybe an inspiration will take the initiative to knock at the door." Alex said.

James Wan pointed his head: "I know, but you must know that feeling uncomfortable.

"I went to Las Vegas and take a break. Maybe let the inspiration takes the initiative to knock my head when I return to Los Angeles.

In fact, I have an idea, why not try another way. Now the good horror thriller is nothing more than letting the audience feel the fear of death, unknown's and loneliness. It allows the audience to enter the heart of the character. In that state, realized what fear is a good horror film for me." Alex said.

"Yes, this is the status quo; you must have other good ideas." James is full of excitement, he thinks Alex may It's the one who can inspire to strike his brain.

"Under such threat of death, let the protagonist create a contradiction between self-cognition and identity, and thus form a madness then fear, and just like that formation of a second extremely evil personality." Alex said.

"An evil personality? Questioning the personality of the person, like "Frankenstein?" James asked.

"Yes, but there's still need of process, where in the desperate situation of setting a forcing ordinary people to break their will to destroy others and all this is only for survival.

In order to survive, they've to do this, even if they don't want to, and always give them a choice between life and death." Alex said.

Listening to Alex's words, James' was excited: Wow, Alex, you are such an absolute genius, what is inside your brain, I have already felt the inspiration knocked on my head, as long as I gently tap it, I will get in."

"I must write it down; people's heads are always forgotten easily. If I forget about this, I think I should find a place to cure this." James took out a small book from his pocket and then quickly writes on it.

What he said it to James, he mixed with his own understanding, but it is indeed a thing that a horror movie need. Just like James Wan said, bloodiness only brings some visual shock.

Similarly, the superficial aspect of "buried" is also a suffocating closed space and helpless scenario. The soul integrates and enlarges a large amount of information, and then completes stories about life and death, belief and trust, burial and salvation in the story.

Alex has studied "Buried" for more than he can remember and always feels a little worse. Even if he can add new highlights in the previous film, he still feels that he hasn't been able to some hope and then despair.

Looking at the view that flashed through the window, Alex closed his eyes. As he said to James Wan, the inspiration might come knocking at the door. At this moment and Alex found the missing point.

In the original film, the recurring cell phone battery isn't close to being close-up, but at the end and it didn't give one close-up. This is where Alex has always felt something missing.

Now Alex thinks that the phone has a close-up of the protagonist when he's at the edge. He wants gives the phone at least two-second close-up of the battery getting exhausted and it automatically shuts down at the end. In this shot, the protagonist is getting buried in the sand. The desperate look that comes out in this includes a scene in which the screen of the mobile phone is completely off.

Although it was only has a close-up of about two seconds, such an increase will undoubtedly give the audience a more impact, and even achieve the finishing touch in the film.

Thinking of this, Alex can't wait to return to Los Angeles and then write the script and the split-screen script in detail as soon as possible, and then immediately start shooting.

And James Wan next to him also wants to improve his script as soon as possible, and then turn the idea into an actual film on the big screen as soon as possible.

"It's great coming here; this is the most valuable journey in my life, even though it's only 100 minutes." James said.

"Me too, I think you must promise me that you'll not forget it right? If there's no accident, I will give it to you tomorrow." Done w/ the script, then you have to come over and help me." Alex said, "I want to say that I'm a poor man, so don't expect me to give you much." said by a billionaire.

"You guy, I just want you to help and I don't need your money." James and Alex hugged each other. "I can't wait to see your script, see you tomorrow." James said.

"See you tomorrow then." Alex waved his hand to him.

Returning to the memorable rented house in Chinatown, it's the house of the grandmother of the former orphanage, Wang Grandma. Before the adoption of Alex, he grew up in the orphanage and Grandma Wang is like his true grandmother.

His rental house is also a bedroom of the grandmother's family. Alex doesn't know why she has no children or no relatives.

Since he grew up, he lived here, and Alex only used the rent of $200 for Wang's grandmother every month. This kind of rent is much cheaper than other places.

"Little Alex, did you just come back? Are you tired? If you're hungry, I still have a pudding cake that you like to eat." When seeing Alex pulling the suitcase back, Wang Grandma immediately asked, although Alex not her real grandson, but she loved Alex like her own.

The grandmother in front of him is still a young one. The only difference is that Alex feels the love of the elder. At this moment, seeing Wang grandmother kindness and Alex's mood has become better.

"Grandma, I'm not hungry now, but you keep it for me and I will eat it later at night." He said.

"Good, I will keep it for you, hurry and take a rest." Grandma Wang said.

"Yeah." Alex picked up the suitcase and returned to his own room.

Alex's room layout is very simple and not well decorated. There's a sleeping area in the room and facing the TV.

The window has a long desk; on the left side of the desk is a desktop computer and facing another window.

Next to the computer is a simple bookshelf with books.

Putting down the suitcase, Alex didn't pack up immediately but turned on the computer. He wanted to complete the script of "Buried" as soon as possible tonight.

This script is the source of the first goldmine in his life. Only by completing this script can he take the first step into Hollywood.
