Chapter 45: Kisses!
Staring at the sharp tip of the needle that was about to intrude into her vein, she almost squealed as if she could imagine the pain of it. She already let him stab her with the needle to extract blood. Now, it was the real deal she needed to face.
Seeing her scared expression, he said as a reminder of their deal from earlier, "Ten kisses."
"Ughhhh for ten kisses and I'm letting my man sting my arm. Maybe I should've raised the stake to a hundred kisses." She murmured her complaints for him to hear.
"As long as you take the shots, I wouldn't mind any number of kisses you want. This is for your health, so I'm being strict about it." He poked the tip of the needle into her skin as she continued with her complaints.
"Oh? Then what if you can't fulfill the promise?" She questioned with a smile on her face.
"Then you can do whatever you wish to me." He responded carefreely as he was confident about the kisses.
Though she felt the pinch and the flow of fluids entering her arm; she didn't dare look at it. She could feel the numbing sensation as if someone had brutally punched her repeatedly on the upper arm area for half an hour. One shot was done and now the other arm was raised for the challenge.
She gulped as he stuck a band-aid on her upper arm and rolled the sleeves back down. She tilted her body for her other arm to suffer the same fate as her right arm. "Goodbye, my poor arm. You will always be remembered." She didn't dare watch as she felt the cold alcohol pad sanitize the upper arm.
Then, the tip of a new needle penetrated her arm with no warning. She gasped and covered her eyes until he announced, "Done. See? It wasn't that bad."
Feeling awful on both arms and utterly uncomfortable by the bruising sensation, she decided to give him a taste later for this. She asked, "When will I be compensated?"
"I'll give you the kisses during my break."
Missing the naughty smile on her face, she said, "Okay. Remember, ten kisses!"
She stood up and walked back to her room by herself. He was planning to escort her, but she left before he was ready to leave. "Sigh, so this is how it feels like to spoil my girlfriend. What happened to my ethics... eh~ As long as she's healthy."
Approximately two hours later, he entered her room to find her hissing in pain. Her reddened eyes and apricot looking cheeks easily made him forget about his work. "Do you want a massage? Sit on the bed. I'll massage it."
"Hmph!" She pursed her lips childishly, but still followed his words. Gently rubbing around the sore area of her arm, he kept asking whether the strength was alright and if it was improving her pain. In the process, she would either nod or shake her head.
After massaging both arms, he said, "Do you want your kisses now?"
Holding her palms upwards, she nodded, "Give me."
Chuckling at her adorable expression, he leaned forward to give her ten kisses as he had promised. Suddenly, her fingers dodged his lips, and she asked, "What are you doing?"
"Giving you ten kisses." He mumbled into her fingers.
"I meant chocolate kisses. Hmph!" She held out her hand while still blocking his lips. He blinked confusedly and asked, "Not regular kisses?"
"Heh, maybe you were thinking about regular kisses, but I was referring to chocolate kisses. Well? Do you have it with you?" Smiling with such playful eyes, how could he say yes even if he had it with him?
Shaking his head in response, she released her fingers from his lips and caressed his cheeks. She stood up from the bed and made him sit instead. Her fingertips traced from his eyebrows, nose bridge to his lips where it stayed for the next minute.
Supporting her body using her right knee on the mattress, she lowered her lips and whispered into his ears. "As you said earlier, if you fail to give me ten kisses, then I can do whatever I wish. Still keeping these words?"
"Of course." He replied with no hesitation at all. Since she was being naughty with words, he played along to satisfy her wishes.
"Then, I'll look forward to seeing you again after your shift. Darling." Gently blowing into his ears, a mini satisfactory smile appeared on her face as she stepped back from him. Rubbing her sore arms and stretching them out, she said, "Aren't we eating lunch together? There are roughly forty minutes left. Let's go."
"Huh? Uh..uhmm.. Yeah." Suddenly, he really looked forward to the end of his shift. If he had the choice of clocking out on the spot, he would end his shift already. 'Guess I'll have to wait for my personal time.'
- Cafeteria -
After ordering their meals and retrieving it, they sat on one of the tables in the cafeteria. He purposely ordered rice pudding dessert for her sweet tooth. Last time she ate it; she looked extremely pleased and kept complimenting its taste.
She ordered a simple salad with ranch dressing and a soup. Meanwhile, he ordered a sandwich, rice pudding and a cup of mocha Frappuccino. As she took bites of her salad, she noticed how he had been looking at her the whole time.
"Here, say ah." She thought he wanted to try her salad, so she fed it to him.
"Ah..It tastes pretty good." He said as he finished and swallowed it. After ten minutes later, she put down her utensils and wiped her lips with a napkin.
Seeing her empty plates, he ripped the rice pudding package and scooped a spoonful of it.
"Here. You like this, don't you?" He said as he fed the pudding to her mouth. While staring at his joyful expression and tasting the pudding, she only thought about one thing. 'Compared to the rice pudding, I like you more.'
After feeding her another bite, he passed the dessert onto her tray. From a distance, Lucas snapped nice photos of this couple's interactions and spammed his parents with it.
"Mom, dad! Look at brother wooing my future sister-in-law!"
Lin An: "Hmm, not bad. Not bad. Nice move."
Lin Yao Yao: "Oh my!! My future daughter-in-law is so pretty! Are they dating?"
Lucas: "Time for me to enter this picture!"
As Lucas walked towards their table, Ginny and Toby also walked towards them with wide smiles on their faces. When they reached the table, everyone coincidentally spoke at the same time.
Toby and Ginny: "Lily!"
Lucas: "Big bro!"
Lily almost choked on her pudding from the sudden family shout out. Lin Que also turned back to meet these three with a busted expression.
