Chapter 62: Prologue: The Adventure Continues
Two figures rushed through the night as they made their way down a dimly lit alley. Their movements were quick and frantic, as if they were being chased.
"Hurry sister!"
"Hah...hah...just go on without me brother...I won't make it."
"Stop it! Come on!"
One of the figures was a boy who looked to be in his late teens. The boy grabbed the other person's hand, dragging her along, forcing her to continue forward. She seemed to be the same age as the boy, perhaps a bit younger. Her breathing was ragged and she was having trouble keeping up with the boy's pace.
"We are almost there! Once we get there, it will be nearly impossible to find us!"
"Hah...we might...hah...just die...there...hah...instead."
"If we are captured we will definitely die, but if we make it there...death is not a sure thing. Let's worry about that when we get there, come on!"
With another tug the boy pulled the girl along as they increased their pace. A few moments after they had exited the alley way, a group of cloaked individuals arrived. One of the individuals, a man based on his voice, let out a low growl as he spoke.
"Humph. They were just here."
He then proceeded to lift his head and sniff the air like a hunting dog.
"They went that way. Hoh...so they want to go there. Hurry! If they reach their destination it will be far more difficult to catch them!"
With that the group took off into the night.

Far away in a cottage near the Town of Walfrey, two individuals were having a very quiet dinner. One was a man who looked to be in his early twenties, and the other was a girl who seemed to be in her mid teens. They sat at a wooden table across from each other, quietly eating their soup. Apart from them there was an individual sitting between them. She was a beautiful woman with inky black eyes and unnaturally pale skin. She sat there quietly, with no soup, and making no movement. Finally, as if speaking caused him great effort, the man broke the silence.
"...So....this is really amazing soup huh?"
"We've had the same thing every day this week."
"...S-still amazing though...yes."
After that exchange silence returned to the cottage. After a little while, the girl spoke up again.
"...So tonight is our last night here right?"
"Seems so."
"I grew up here...all my fondest memories are here..."
As she said this the girl glanced at the silent woman sitting between them, a tinge of pain crossing her pretty face. The man's face on the other hand seemed to have some traces of panic, and he suddenly started speaking like a machine gun.
"You will have new fond memories! Yes! I'll make sure you do! I'll uh...take you to all the shops and uh...take you to all the different places to try new foods! It will be exciting. Without a doubt! I'll take you to see new sights and-"
"Ok ok ok, I get it."
The girl broke into a small smile as she spoke. Almost as if he couldn't believe what he saw, the man's jaw dropped. Obviously noticing his facial expression, her small smile vanished, and was replaced by a disgruntled look.
"What? Is me smiling so surprising?"
"...Yes?"
Hearing this the girl did not become angry, but instead let out an exasperated sigh.
"Hah...ya know, at times like that you should say something like `No, I was just entranced by your beauty` instead."
"...But it is REALLY surprising."
"...This is why you have no friends."
"UGKH!"
The man let out a choked cry as his face formed into an expression that looked as if he had been stabbed in the heart. Seeing this, the girl let out another small smile.
