Chapter 19: There Goes My Childhood...

That thing definitely looks like a giant Snarf Snarf. This world has officially ruined one of the few good pieces of my childhood. Well... whatever, this is just one more disappointment in a long line of disappointments. I need to concentrate on Snarf Snarf now.

It was quite large, on its hind legs Snarf looked to be almost 6 feet tall. The guard definitely wouldn't last much longer. I needed my zombie, but for some reason it hadn't shown up. Maybe since Snarf hadn't attacked me yet it didn't meet the condition for it to show up to protect me. It looks like it is too dumb to infer danger.

It is probably too far to hear me... wait did it need to hear me? I am connected to it, I can "feel" where it is due to this connection. Shouldn't I be able to send it commands without speaking? I concentrated on the "feeling" I had that resided in the forest.

[Come here and kill Snarf Snarf!]

Time had come to a crawl again. After experiencing this a few times I am no longer surprised. It seems to kick in when I am trying to make decisions during combat and is dismissed the moment I make a physical action. I think my thought process is sped up, which allowing me to make better decisions. I'm only guessing, but I think it is probably part of the "Undead Commander" passive.

Well lets see if this worked, if it didn't I guess I'll try "Drain Life". I blinked my eyes and after they opened again, the world was back to normal. The guard had fallen to the ground and Snarf was tearing into him. At the same time I saw a fast figure dash toward Snarf from the forest. It worked!

Snarf seemed to notice the incoming zombie and turned around to intercept it. For the first time the zombie did not overwhelm its opponent. Snarf was strong and the zombie was already injured, missing an arm. They both used beast like attacks on each other, clawing and biting. If things continued like this the zombie would definitely lose. I looked at the guard on the ground, the body was mostly intact. I should probably switch to a new zombie before the first one dies, otherwise Snarf's attention would be on me.

"Arise and serve me."

In the heat of the moment I had forgotten to put the first zombie to rest first. I was about to figure out how to time it when I saw the guard's body twitch on the ground. It was on its feet before I had fully realized what had happened... I guess I can have two zombies at a time now.
