Ghost Town
[A/N - This chapter is a rewrite, the original one was really subpar and needed to be redone. From Arios' irrational decisions and over the top methods. Hope this is better, thanks for the support.]
Cassius grew weary from my increased strength, each strike only causing his arms to grow weaker.
The release of the second seal improved all my physical abilities, now I could not only keep up with him, I could surpass him.
We rapidly traded blows, but with his dominant hand out of the picture, I quickly surpassed his speed until the tables had completely turned.
He could no longer defend against me.
Soon enough, he couldn't handle my increased strength as well and I knocked the blade out of his hand sending it flying off to the distance.
There was fear present in his eyes as I slashed Excalibur through his forearm, slicing It clean off.
He had held it up as a sacrifice just to barely succeed in trading it for a blow to the head.
He began screaming from the pain as the Holy Aura seeped into his skin turning the rest of his arm to ash.
"Y-you BASTARD!!"
His breaths became deeper and more rapid to compensate for his rage,
"I'll FUCKING kill you!!"
Soon a purple haze oozed from his body, I watched as it seeped into the corpses nearby, the haze continue to spread until it engulfed all of Beagbury, slowly seeping into the undead across town, turning their lifeless routine into a gathering towards the town center.
Like moths to a flame all the corpses instantly headed towards Cassius before their heads snapped towards him, as if waiting for further directions.
"KILL HIM!! NOWW!!"
The corpses changed objectives, limping towards me instead. They had made a clear attempt to run towards me, but their bodies had already decomposed too much at this point.
He wielded his demonic power, causing it to slowly seep into them, strengthening the corpses, compensating for their decomposition and increasing their strength and speed.
Soon, he began to laugh madly in what sounded like, self mockery and hate.
"Hahahahaha, you will die here with me today! Let me show you why my Naberius Clan is feared throughout all the Underworld!!"
The corpses responded in turn and started to pick up pace towards me with anticipation to attack.
I smirked with a tired expression while looking towards Cassius, "It's already too late to defeat me now."
"—Eh? Haha, what could you do human?!"
"Haha! Wait and see!"
The wind picked up, as the clouds covering the town began to awake, sounds of thunder resounded through the dead alleys of Beagbury.
"What's this?!"
KRACK KOOM
I watched as Cassius arrogant face slowly paled, his expression showing nothing but fear.
"I-impossible!"
The sounds started to repeat, one after another as lightning rained down as if they were from the heavens themselves, giving the impression of nothing but one thing,
Imminent Defeat.
"Y-you wield it, do you not?!"
"Hm? What could you be talking of?" I respond with a smirk.
"D-don't fuck around!! You have the Zenith Tempest don't you?!?"
"Maybe."
I said before quickly Burst Stepping towards him, his faces paled even further with his back against a metaphorical wall, so he did what he always did in a situation like this, he screeched out the words ingrained in his mouth like muscle memory,
"STOP, MY FATHER—"
SPLICH
He was cut off short as Excalibur was swung straight through his neck, slicing through his spine like a hot knife in butter.
His face froze as his head detached from his body, dropping to make nothing but a quiet splat on the ground before fading to ashes, just like his arm that came before.
The corpses fell like puppets that had their strings cut, however, some of them with enough mana already ingrained continued their approach.
KRACK
KOOOM
Lightning continued to be slammed into the buildings and corpses, purifying the remainders in heavenly smite.
Soon, all the corpses were purged and the remainders laid on the ground.
I truly pity these folk, thrown in between a battle they had no relation with. The least I could do is bury them and hope that their missing children are safe.
I spent the next several hours digging up the earth by hand, I didn't want to be lazy with it. These people had suffered enough, the least they need is a shitty send off.
Soon enough, the mass grave was finished, each body was laid uniformly within and I gave them a final prayer as send off before covered their corpses in dirt.
I created a large tombstone to stand over the grave, as if to watch over them.
I had decided to engrave some words into it, so the world would know that their suffering didn't go without notice, nor without avengement. A final reminder of the previous residents of this now gloomy ghost town.
I decided to leave it at that, and turned around, walking back towards Cassius' final resting place before locating the bone sword he had wielded prior.
I sent it to my spacial inventory, before finally heading off. Leaving Beagbury for good, once and for all.
I turned back one last time to see it start to rain heavily over the town, as if the heaven's mourned over them itself, a final send off for the newly departed.
I headed out towards the next location on the map I had retrieved, hopefully so I can prevent others of bearing the same tragic fate of Beagbury.

Sorry for having to do a rewrite, for the initial chapter I had a headache on top of the writer's block, giving a half baked chapter.
