Rin had been in a dilemma the past few days. She had developed a fleeting infatuation towards her new desk mate, but everything violently changed when a past came back.
After much hesitation, she decided to take charge and changed her seating position to sit beside Aito. However, when she saw Red looking at her with surprise, she suddenly had a flash of those complicated feelings again and avoided his gaze.
When she looked back at him, she saw Yui looking at herself and Red having a bitter expression on his face. Suddenly, she felt like she made a mistake. Her mood soured.
Aito had been over the moon. Ever since he confessed, things were looking up. Rin paid attention to him and she even moved to sit beside him. The two got even closer as they chatted all day for the past two days and after he had dropped her off.
But now, he saw her glancing at Red twice. He suddenly felt bitter. Red was the one who helped him a lot in this matter, but eventually he had to fight for himself. He looked at Rin.
"Rin, I want to tell you once again. I have feelings for you." Aito calmly and gently said. Past few days he was reading a lot of relationship advice and was working on his personality.
When Rin heard that she blushed. "Un. I know." She replied, but didn't say any further for a few seconds. "But I need some time to sort out my feelings. That is why I moved beside you Aito kun."
However Aito was satisfied, because he saw that Rin had put away thoughts about Red at this moment.
"Yui, which club are you a part of?" Red asked her.
"I'm in ballet." Yui said.
"Interesting choice, but slightly predictable considering you are an Ojou sama." Red nodded as if it was expected.
"Are you mocking me?" Yui glared at Red, but her anger was fake.
"I don't dare, I don't dare." Red replied comically.
Yui smiled and nodded. "Good."
When Rin saw this she suddenly felt jealousy in her heart. "Why is Red so flirtatious with Yui? This was probably why Goutou went crazy on him!" She tried to pacify herself. She tried to ignore Red, but she felt a prickly feeling within her.
Red looked ahead. "Miss Nina doesn't seem to speak much?"
"I don't like talking to boys. They are scum." Nina replied.
"Yikes, did I offend you as well?" He asked in a half laugh.
Nina shook her head. "Its just an instinctual disgust I have."
"May be trying to break out the mold might help, instead of surrendering to the instinctual feelings." Red replied.
Yui stopped Red. "Leave her alone. She seems to hate you."
Nina suddenly turned and looked at Yui. "I never said I hate him. Don't put words in my mouth."
Suddenly Yui and Nina began having a staring match as sparks began flying between the two.
"You just called him disgusting. You shouldn't say such unfounded things about my friend. Take it back." Yui did not back down.
"I was only making a general statement. And it isn't inaccurate, even if this boh isn't as disgusting as others." Nina replied calmly.
Red realized that this was a potential minefield. "Ladies, please calm down. Yui, thanks for standing up for me, but I don't want you to fight." Red gently held Yui's hand, urging her to back down.
Yui felt the heat from Red's palms and cooled down. She nodded and quieted. Red let go.
However Nina still went ahead. "Oh, it seems someone is feeling threatened?"
Yui was about to exploded again, but Red spoke first. "Miss Nina, its okay if you hate me, but please don't fight with Yui."
Nina looked at Red, didn't reply. She simply turned forward and ignored him. Red breathed a sigh of relief.
Yui suddenly spoke. "Don't listen to her baloney about being jealous."
Red nodded in understanding. However, when Rin saw Red and Yui being friendly and intimate with each other, she could not take it anymore and left the class. Aito soon followed.
Red looked at Rin leaving and saw that she had tears in her eyes. "What's going on? Rin's crying!" He said as he got up and left the class as well. Yui saw that and didn't want Red to go, but eventually she didn't say anything. She just quietly sat as Red went out.
In the corridor, Rin began sobbing. Aito had already appeared. He tried to comfort Rin, but she was not listening to him. She just continued to cry, making the whole scene awkward. Red arrived and saw Rin crying.
"Rin, what happened? Why are you crying so badly?" Red asked in concern.
Rin turned her head to see that Red was full of worry for her and she suddenly was swept up in emotions. She suddenly ran to Red and hugged him as she began sobbing.
"Red, I'm sorry!" She wailed.
Red was dumbfounded. Aito was dumbfounded. Everyone was dumbfounded. What the f*** was going on?
"Could it be the legendary love triangle?" Someone whispered.
Red stroked Rin's hair, patting her head. "Hey, what happened? What are you apologizing for? Why are you crying?"
"I am sowwy." She kept wailing. Red sighed and wrapped his hands around her and returned her a hug.
"Stupid girl, stop crying first. I am not adept at understanding the female brain." Red joked.
This caused Rin to chuckle. She also felt the warmth of the tight hug and her clenched heart loosened. She wiped off the tears off of her face.
"Okay, tell me what happened?" Red asked as Rin finally separated from his embrace.
"Nothing. I'm feeling better now. Thank you Red." Rin said. Her face had puffed up from crying.
"Look your cheeks all swelled up." Red joked.
"Iiiaaahh!" Rin quickly went to the washroom.
At this moment, when Aito saw all this happen, he suddenly felt his heart break. Suddenly, Red felt an energy enter his body and nourish his cells. He suddenly felt reborn.
"Stealing the heart. This is an understanding of the thief's way..." Red thought to himself as understanding dawned on him.
"Does that mean I stole Rin's heart from Aito? This is going to be complicated." His thoughts began whirring. While Aito looked like he had lost himself again. However Red couldn't let this easy freebie go away so quickly. He had to squeeze the last remaining vestiges.
"Aito, you have to take care of Rin! She clearly is showing interest in you. I don't know why she cried, but you have to be her pillar! You must always be there for her." Red said as he patted his back with a very serious look.
Aito suddenly became serious as well. "Red, do you like Rin?"
Red shook his head. "Bro, what are you talking about? Rin is one of my good friends. Besides, I like someone else."
When Aito heard that he felt a stress be relieved from his heart and hope rose again. He suspected that Red liked Yui. He clenched his fist and nodded.
