Chapter 16: Heist

A slender woman dressed in all black and wearing a black balaclava covering her face and revealing only her eyes, quietly took out a cellophane paper and glued it onto the guards hands, collecting his fingerprints.

Then she quietly slid out within the shadows, turning towards a corridor and unlocking the door using biometrics she just obtained.

As she quietly entered the display hall, eyes eyes turned until she found the object she was looking for. A gold medal, in the subsidiary display. She quietly walked to the the glass like a silent wolf, slowly taking out a suction like device that attached to the glass and slowly began cutting a hole in it.

Once the glass was cut out, she withdrew the device and put her hand in the glass and began taking out the medal, very gently. Just as she was about to tale the object out completely, she felt a hand grab her arm. Her heart tightened as she saw an extremely muscular man in an identical black outfit tightly grip her hand.

Immediately, the woman used her other hand and sprayed pepper spray! The muscular man groaned and fell backwards, crashing into other display items. The alarms immediately began blaring and the museum began sealing down the shutters.

"Damn!" The woman grumbled and looked at the muscular man in hatred. "Fucking amateur!"

She quickly grabbed the medal, without much thought and quickly chose the exit route, leaving immediately. As the metal shutters were sealing all the windows and doors, the woman narrowly slipped through and escaped, however, the museum was inside the Palace grounds, an extremely well guarded place! The museum had already been surrounded!

At that moment, a young thief in all black looked at what happened and shook his head. "This woman is considered my competitor? A complete amateur! And this idiot is absolute garbage!" In his hand, a gold medal was glowing, however, he didn't care about it. Instead, he walked towards the muscular man and knocked him unconscious.

His eyes had set upon another item which had fallen out of the crashed display the muscular man had banged into. It was actually a white cotton glove. When the young thief saw it, his eyes glowed. He felt a yearning within him, which told him it was not an ordinary object.

He quickly grabbed the white cotton glove and stuffed it into his pocket. He then calmly walked out of the door and into the guard room, where the guard was still unconscious. He quickly changed into a guard uniform and lay unconscious.

A few minutes later, he was carried away by medics. During the process, his fingerprints were checked with the biometric and verified to be of a guard and he was quickly rushed into the ambulance.

The thief then got up and tore off a mask off his face that had given him Japanese features, and removed extremely thin stickers off of his fingers, that held the mark of fingerprints of a guard's coffee cup. Earlier in the evening, the guard had an intense diarrhea after drinking the coffee and took the day off, except that the person he informed... happened to be the thief!

As the focus seemed to be on catching the criminal, the thief quietly walked away and headed to a bar. No one could identify him. Half an hour later, the agent appeared and sat down

Red looked at the man and snorted. "You left out a lot of crucial information. 50 million is no longer enough!"

The agent also looked embarrassed. "It seems that we had an information leak. MI7 did not expect competitors. We will increase the sum by 20 million and I have also brought what you requested." Saying so, he took out a chip.

"This chip contains the Sleight of Hand Secret Art that you wanted." The agent said. He also transferred 70 million to one of Red's offshore accounts.

"How did you do it? We got intel that the medal is in the hands of a female thief." The agent asked.

Red simply smiled and flipped the gold medal into the agents hands. "Trade secret." He took the chip and walked off.

The agent looked at the medal, nodded and quickly left the scene as well.

Red returned home. He took out the chip and put it into his device. The Sleight of Hand secret art was a set of 10 exercises that increased hand flexibility beyond the limits of what could be considered humanly capable. Before he became an agent for MI7, Red negotiated for this set of techniques.

He carefully looked at the exercises and nodded. They were truly extraordinary and required the use of absorbing energy from the surroundings. This was only the second such technique he had ever seen. The first one was what propelled him from a pickpocket into the legendary Silver Thief.

The MI7 had thought that Red was not aware of the supernatural, little did they know that in his childhood, he had stolen a small parchment of paper from an antique store because he found it shining. The parchment was so sharp that it cut his finger and the parchment suddenly disappeared into his body.

Since then he had been practicing the Divine Thief's Manuscript, and had only reached the first layer's perfection. This first layer was still at a mortal level, and did not require the absorption of energy, however, it required him to learn all kinds of absurd and myriad skills and temper his mind by travelling. His understanding of the crux of the first layer was that every theft is an organizational performance.

Now he took the glove, and after a deep breath, pricked open his finger and smeared some blood onto the glove. It immediately began flowing and a lot of energy began to flood into Red's body.

Suddenly, Red appeared inside a weird space filled with grey smoke. He saw a gigantic pair of eyes as large as a mountain look down at him.

"What an interesting dao. Stealing is a performance, is it? You have the manuscript on you as well and your first layer has reached perfection. Very good, you are ready to pursue the martial way of my Divine Thief's legacy!"

Suddenly, the details of the second layer of the Divine Thief's Manuscript appeared in his mind. It was a complicated cyclical absorption formula of energy.
