Chapter 15: Scoping Out

"Stupid kid!" The Rogue pushed Aito back, however, Aito resisted, lest Rin was hurt.

At this moment Rin panicked, but then she remembered the scene where someone tried to bully her in middle school and Aito had stood in front of her, just like this. She remembered how big Aito's back felt at that time.

The rogues suddenly took out switchblades, which caused the students to panic. "Bitch, prepare to feel a world of hurt!" The rogue screamed at Aito, as he looked to quickly stab him.

However, at that moment, a projective suddenly hit the rogue's forehead with immense impact and shattered. The rogue's eyes rolled up and fell unconscious.

"Boss!" The two rogues yelled, but in panic they ran away.

The other students was stunned and confused. "What just happened?"

Rin couldn't see what happened as she was behind Aito and Aito himself was concentrated on the blade as he thought he was going to die.

The only one who realized what happened was Yui. She looked at Red with shock, who only put a finger on his lips. "This is a secret between us." He said with a smile.

Yui had seen how Red suddenly shook his hand and a small spherical ball bearing, the kind which Red had given her a couple of days earlier appeared in his hand. He then simply flicked it and it rushed over like a bullet, smashing into the rogue's forehead and knocking him unconscious.

Yui still had the ball bearing with her. She heard what Red said and nodded. She wouldn't reveal this to others. But inwardly she was stunned by Red's power.

"Who are you?" Yui wondered in her mind.

Meanwhile Rin looked at Aito, her mind even more complex than before. "Aito, thank you.." She whispered quietly.

"You don't need to thank me for this. Even if you did not pay attention to me, I would protect you." Aito said heroically, however, he was sweating inside.

Rin also had fear now as she was scared Aito would be stabbed, but at the last moment someone intervened. A sudden turn of events.

Yui looked at Red. "How did you do it?"

Red laughed. "Secret."

The group entered the Imperial Palace. There were many cherry trees that lined the cobbled streets, blooming pink sakura flowers that created an ethereal feeling inside the Palace grounds.

The day was spent sight seeing, entering the museum and gawking at the various items. Afterwards, the group headed out for lunch. Everyone left Rin and Aito alone, letting them spend time alone. All the students were cheering Aito on.

At this moment, Red and Yui were walking behind the school group. Red was simply clicking photos of all the places on his phone, appearing to do some serious analysis while Yui was walking along with him.

Yui looked at Red. "Do you know how come Aito changed so much?"

Red's lips curled. "I gave him some tips."

"Then did you arrange the trip for them...?" Yui asked with a light in her eye.

"I felt that yesterday's sudden event was not conducive to either of them and thought it would be a good idea to let them spend some time together and figure out how they really feel about each other." Red replied

"I thought you liked Rin..." Yui said.

"Haha, she is my first friend in the school, that's all. I didn't want her to feel regretful." Red replied.

"Then... can we be considered friends?" Yui asked awkwardly.

Red looked at her with gentle eyes. "Of course we are. You don't have to ask such things, haha."

Yui looked away at the street, her face was blushing. She realized that her question was really childish. Red had been treating her like a friend all along.

She thought about Goutou, she had liked him, but she didn't feel this kind of freedom when she was with him.

After lunch, the students decided to disband. Some people had curfew and couldn't stay beyond evening.

Red, Yui, Rin amd Aito walked back towards the school, but Rin and Aito were walking along separately.

At this moment, Red suddenly felt like he had seen a silhouette pass by that he thought was familiar. He turned his head to see a woman who was holding a map, adjusting her glasses, but when Red saw her eyes he immediately narrowed his.

"What happened Red?" Yui saw Red looking away very seriously.

"Nothing, I thought I recognized someone." Red laughed it off as the two walked to the school. However, in his mind thoughts were whirring. "Looks like many people have their ideas on the object. Lupa... I didn't expect a competitor to be in the field, haha."

After reaching school, Red looked at Aito. "Aito, drop Rin home." Aito looked at Red and nodded.

Rin looked at Red with a complicated gaze. However, she eventually did not protest.

Yui had a car waiting for her, and she left in it. Red too left the scene. However, for him the day was truly beginning now.

Back in his flat, he carefully organized all the photographs, drew a map and began charting out his plan. He took out a briefcase, that had a few of his favorite items he used for his trade.

The Tokyo Imperial Palace Museum. The time is around 11:55, it is the moment of the change in the guard shift. At this moment, the guard yawned and locked the doors, heading into the guard room to change out of his uniform. Out of nowhere, a hand chops on his neck, dropping him unconscious.
