Chapter 4: The School Belle
Soon, the teacher, Tang Minyi, came into the room.
"Since today's your first day. Please stand up and introduce yourself to your classmates." The teacher said with her sweet voice.
"Hi. My name is Han Yifei. Nice to meet you." A boy said with his confidence.
Then the rest started to stand up and introduce themselves one after another.
"Hello. My name is Zheng Xiujing. Nice to meet you."
All classmates were clapping for their new friends. Han Yifei was a good-looking boy with tanned skin. His dark eyes and hair made him look like a bad boy. He seemed to practice some material arts, as his body muscle was showed beneath his uniform. And he had some scars on his arms too.
After that, the teacher began to explain study system in this school for new students.
"We need to choose a class representative for cooperating with the student council. Anyone want to take this job?"
"I'll do it, teacher." Han Yifei raised his hand with no emotion.
"Should you discuss with your friends and do some votes first?"
Everyone in the room seemed to agree to let Han Yifei take this job. Therefore, no one object the idea.
"Alright. Then, Han Yifei will be 1-A class representative."
When the class was dismissed, it was 11.30 in the morning. Since today was first day, there was nothing much except for a guideline of course syllabus. Zheng Xiujing and Gao Lili went to the canteen together for their lunch.
"Xiujing, what'll you have for you lunch?"
"Spaghetti with Meat Sauce." Zheng Xiujing said while looking at the western store.
"Hmm. I'll have the same menu then."
While the two girls were waiting for their dish, people around them started murmuring louder and louder.
"Oh, that's goddess Liu Xiaolin! She's beautiful as always."
"Why does she come to this canteen? She always eats something more expensive at the school restaurant."
"Is she going to bully Xie Binbin again? I felt pity for Binbin."
Walking gracefully into the canteen, Liu Xiaolin ignored all the gaze staring at her. She walked straight to the girl whose name is Xie Binbin. When Xie Binbin saw Liu Xiaolin coming on her way, she took her dish and leave in a hurry to avoid Liu Xiaolin.
"Stop right there, Xie Binbin." Liu Xiaolin spoke loud enough for people around her to hear. She went to Xie Binbin and slapped her.
"For seducing my man." Another loud smack was heard. "For being thick-skinned."
Xie Binbin was about to cry, but she managed to hold it in.
"I-I'm sorry…" Xie Binbin apologized with her trembling voice.
"Scram! Don't let me see your face again and stay away from my man!"
Xie Binbin ran away quickly and cry. Many students who saw what happened started their little gossip among their group.
"Poor Binbin, she was a cute and kind person. It was Xiaolin's boyfriend's fault to be a playboy. I feel pity for Binbin."
"Ah, Binbin's obsession toward her boyfriend need to be cured."
"Xiaolin was really a hottie, but her personality is a bit…"
Lili whispered to Zheng Xiujing.
"What do you think?"
"Huh? What do I think? No comment. I don't like to interfere others' business."
"Ah, you're boring." Lili shrugged. "To be honest, I think you're more pretty than that Liu Xiaolin. I'm certain you'll be the next belle campus soon."
"I don't care about such a thing. It's not like I want to be born as a beauty anyway."
"Me too. What I care about in this life are men and my happiness."
What Zheng Xiujing really liked about Gao Lili was her straightforwardness. It was better than having a two-faced friend.
Zheng Xiujing and Gao Lili went to the shopping area after school together. Zheng Xiujing found that Gao Lili had a good sense of style. She could mix and match many outfits in a short time. Besides, all of outfits she picked were outstanding and trendy.
"Thank you, Lili. You're truly the master of fashion."
"That because you're a nice model. Damn! I envy of your perfect figure. You look good in everything. If it were me, I couldn't wear that ugly green dress and still look beautiful."
"Ugly? I think this dress is okay."
"Oh, dear. It's not. Everyone will look fat if they wear it. Except the one who wear it has a nice figure as you."
Both of them continued exploring many stores for an hour. By 6 P.M., the sun was about to leave the sky. The yellow light from street lamps gave a warning for children to go home.
"Should we go back?"
"Hehe! Do you free tonight?" asked Gao Lili, with sparkling eyes.
