Chapter 7: The Old Spot
Alexia replied, "I don't know why. Maybe you wanted to be a spy so badly."
John quickly replied, "A spy with superpowers! Don't forget that part."
"Oh yeah! I forgot about that!" Alexia said, laughing, "You are so weird, John. I love it!"
John nods his head, "Yes, I know, Dimples."
"This is where I would say 'Lets play,' but I think we are a bit too old for that now."
John chuckles & Alexia chuckles with him.
"Yeah, maybe we are, or maybe we are not. We are still kids at heart!" Alexia replied.
"True, we are. Especially you, Dimples!" John said, then suddenly, John quickly turns around & looks out one of the windows. "What's wrong?" Alexia said.
"I heard something. It sounded like someone walking in the forest. But it sounded very close." John said with a confused look.
"Maybe it is an enemy spy!" Alexia said.
"No one comes out here, so what did I hear? So maybe you are right," John replied while chuckling for a second.
Suddenly, a small ball of white light about a firefly's size appears that suddenly flies through the window that Alexia is at & passes her head. "Ummm, John. Look!"
John immediately turns around to see the light land on the floor between them. The light suddenly starts to get larger exceptionally quickly.
"What is tha-" but before John could finish, it explodes in a flash of extremely bright white light & a deafening booming sound. Alexia & John both are blown back to the walls of the treehouse. Alexia puts her hand over her face, "Ugh, my head hurts & my ears are ringing!"
Alexia looks up & sees John sitting there with a dazed look on his face. John then falls over on the floor & passes out.
"JOHN!" Alexia tries to crawl to John & hold him in her arms.
"John, are you ok? Wake up, John!"
Alexia holds him tightly in her sad arms, "It is ok, John, I am here with you."
