Chapter 5: What to do Today
Alexia smiles, "My parents have let you sleepover before, so it should be fine. Now come on, my parents are probably making breakfast right now! Let's go!"
Alexia jumps up & runs to her parents' car. "Wonder what they are making."
John laughs while following her to the car. He thinks for a moment, "I bet they are making french toast. I love it when your parents make french toast. It is always a masterpiece, a work of art. Something made by the gods!"
Alexia looks back at John, "I bet they are making pancakes!"
John laughs, "I bet you $20 it is french toast! I bet they are changing it up this morning." Alexia chuckles while they both get in the car, "I bet you $20 it is pancakes!" John smiles at her, "Deal." Both high five.
As Alexia starts driving away, John asks her, "Why do you care so much about me, Alexia?"
Confused by the question, she replies, "Random question, I guess, regardless, what do you mean, John? We are best friends. We have always been best friends & that is what best friends do."
"What I mean is, why do you have me as your best friend? There are other guys out there who are better & not as annoying & depressing as me. So why me?"
Alexia thinks for a moment; she replies, "Well, no one has been there for me as much as you have. No one has cared for me as much as you have. That is why I love you being my friend. The best friend I have ever had."
John & Alexia keep talking about their friendship until they pull up to her house.
