Chapter 3: "Hello Darkness My Old Friend"

Just as a chapter in my biography was probably called I once more met a dark filled world known as unconsciousness. It had happened when I had managed to defeat the brother of the boy who knocked me unconscious turning him into the newest punching bag of the sect allowing me to become an official member. I had let my guard down at first thinking the boy's brother was a member of the sect who was called to retrieved me. After a fierce battle where the boy managed to kill all my mushrooms and me once taking my last mushroom life I owned I was knocked unconscious as he started cutting me all over my body torturing me. As the last slip of thought I had faded I remembered hearing the voice of a man yelling at the boy on top of me and then nothing.

Wondering if I was truly dead now or not I wondered how I could test it. The first time I had died before being brought into this world I remembered having a body that was forced to float in a everlasting pit of darkness looking down at my body I realized I couldn't see a body. Deciding it was unconsciousness I found myself in I wondered how I was where ever I was while supposedly unconscious. Seemingly answered I heard a voice in my head.

"Host has been detected to have been in a deathly situation. Host's mind teleported into the system space until the system can find a new body for the host, or heal the old one. Hearing the message I didn't know how to feel about it. I guessed in a way I was actually already dead. Thankfully for me though this actually was not the case as within a couple of minutes I started being able to wake up again.

"Goodbye host. Hope you enjoy your life."

With that I fully woke up. Raising my body upwards I turned around and caught sight of a man who looked at me full of interest. "So young disciple, how are your injuries." Figuring out from the question the man before me was my teacher in this world, and I had replaced his student, even if it was a distant one I decided to remain as polite as possible. "My injuries have healed well Teacher." Nodding his head a few times he continued to look at me in interest. "I heard yesterday you got in a fight with my ex-student and won by summoning something. May I ask to look at these creatures you can summon. Nodding my head in acknowledgment to the command, I bit my finger and pressed it on the floor. The blood used itself up as it summoned the small Goomba from yesterday Goob. Looking at it the teacher seemed really pleased with the ability, and seemingly started making plans for them.

"Can they use Qi?" Shaking my head no, he stopped. "Are they unable to use Qi at all or have they just not learned to use it yet." Thinking about the question knowledge flooded into my head as I knew I could upgrade them. "They haven't learned." Smiling in happiness he asked two final questions. "How many can you summon, and why did you summon the small one. I heard you had 9 other large ones."

"I can currently summon just the 10 of them that I had earlier. I can however increase this size with training. Also I didn't summon the larger ones as they could break something in the house if I don't control them well." A small chuckle come out of the man's mouth. The boy in front of him had such a unique power. Usually cultivator's only had to worry about themselves, weaker mobs were useless afterall in larger fights. These mushrooms that could grow stronger however made the man in front of the elder laugh out at the situation of him being the opposite. He did wonder however. Just what kind of bloodline this would eventually become.

With a smile I left the room only to run into my one true friend. Who also had a bag with him seemingly ready to move somewhere. "So when are we moving into your new house." Thinking about it for a second I realized I had no clue where it would be. "Let's go check with the resource management, and also pick up the pills.

Following that decision the two followed beside each other into the largest building in the outer disciple section. Walking in nervously we made our way to a counter that was in the room. "What can I do for you two today," the woman at the counter asked. "Looking at her cute face I froze a second." Thankfully however with a nudge from behind me I recovered fast and pulled out the Tag that I had in the fight, somehow still in one piece after I had gotten beaten up by the senior who came by. Honestly surprised the woman took the tag and walked into the back of the building seemingly to discuss and look up some records with other people.

Setting down on a seat to the side, we waited for around ten minutes before she came back out. Getting up and heading back over she smiled at both of us a lot more friendly, and even slightly impressed. "It's not ofter a punching bag becomes a outer disciple." Raise your head in pride a bit. With a friendly smile she handed me a map of the courtyard with a circle around my home. "When you finish finding your home.

Could you burn that map. We try and keep raiders unwilling to try and raid us." Accepting the responsibility I looked back at the small pouch in her other hand. Handing it over to me I pulled out 5 Qi Gathering pills that were inside. Putting it onto my side using a small clip that let people carry money and other valuables on themselves I thanked her. Getting ready to walk away the woman seemingly remembered something. Oh is that your designated servant next to you. "Yes, so could you please register him." With that I took my friend away to my house, or should I say servant now, shaking my head at the stupid monologue I decided to just let it be. 'I don't feel a need to make every person around me my servant.' Feeling just how wonderful of a day it is I left for my new home forgetting all of my troubles that would soon find their way back to me.
