There once were two kingdoms; one of humans and one of vampires. At the border of these two kingdoms, was a little town. A town, where both species lived in harmony. One day, the vampire king decided to send his daughter to the town. He wished to know how peaceful a town it really was. In good faith, the princess rode to the town alone. Once there, she found many merchants and small shops for both species. The princess began to look for an inn, as the sun began to rise. On her way, two drunken men began swinging their swords around and accidently cut her. The sword was enchanted to hurt vampires. The two men began to panic, apologizing. Their friend walked up and gave her a note. "Go here and tell them what happened. They will tend to that better then we can." He then picked up his friends and left.
As her cut began to burn, she followed the map. Once she got to the healer, she read their sign. "Alex's medicine and potion's, sounds promising. Wait, closed! When do they open?" "Can I help you?" A famine voice said behind her. She turned to find a little human with white hair and deep blue eyes. "I got hurt and was told to come here." The women looked at the note then back up at the princess. Seeing her fangs, the women pushed the princess into the shop. "Why? Why did you-?" "Vampires can't be outside in sunlight. The barrier here is weaker than in your kingdom. Now, what happened?" The princess explained as the women made tea. "I see. They shouldn't be allowed to have these swords anymore! Let's see that arm of yours!" Rolling up her sleeve, she hissed in pain.
As the women looked at it, the princess wanted to keep talking. "So, what's your name?" The women looked up at her then back at the wound. "Alex, yours is?" "Victoria. So, this is your shop?" "Yep, it has been since I was ten. Papa thought it'd be a good present." "I see." A sharp pain stopped her from saying another word. "Sorry, vampire wounds are harder to heal. Of course, those idiots were playing with fang." "Fang?" "The sword, it's made from a dragon's fang and enchanted by the great Lord Fang. He even founded this town." You mean Duke Fang, The vampire with the human bride?" "The one and only! He made this town for his wife. During the last war, they saved people from the crossfire. Both human and vampires were save here." As Alex finished, she finished wrapping Victoria's arm.
Victoria was amazed. "Victoria, how long are you staying in town?" "One week." "Then, instead of staying at an inn, why not stay here? We're closed during the day. So, no one will disturb you, unless those idiots are involved." Victoria laughed, "You have a deal." Over the week the two became the best of friends. Alex insisted that Victoria stay with her whenever she's in the area. Victoria left with every intention of returning. After a year, Victoria was finally allowed to go back. However, Alex wasn't there. Victoria asked around. Her dearest friend was taken by the prince. He intends to marry her. This angered Victoria who had fallen in love with Alex.
She asked her father for consent to follow Alex. "Granted, happy hunting." Her father replied. Meanwhile, Alex was locked up in the castle, missing her friend. The prince showered her with gold and jewels. However, all it did was make her hate him more. "My love, I brought you a dress made of the finest silk. What do you think?" The prince barged in. Alex was sitting by the window. She didn't even bother looking at him. "I hate it." "You didn't even look at it." "I don't like silk." "It was an awful color anyways. I got you a new necklace. Made with the most beautiful gold and diamonds." Alex sighed as she continued to look out the window. "I'm allergic to gold. I told you that ten times."
"You know my love; you are really testing my patience." Alex got up and walked over to him. "Then, find a more obedient wife! I'm not even sixteen yet! Marriage is not on my mind yet!" Alex yelled at him. "Oh, yes. I had forgotten." Alex began to back away as a creepy smile spread across his lips. "How much longer, again? You were fourteen when you got here. So, one more year?" Alex tripped over one of his presents. "You see I'll get what I want, one way or another." Victoria rode her horse as fast as she could. It took her a month to get to the castle. She spoke to the king, who didn't know anything about the girl. He had noted his son going to a tower everyday with gifts. The king went up to the tower and found Alex. He waited there with her and a few guards for his son.
As the prince arrived, he was shocked to find his father. "Son, what is all of this?" "This woman is my bride. So, I am tending to her." "This woman is not of age and you need my approval to marry!" "Father, I had to take her before anyone else did." "YOU COULD HAVE BROUGHT US TO ANOTHER WAR! SHE IS THE VAMPIRE PRINCESS'S BEST FRIEND!" The prince was shocked. "Father, I didn't know that." "You are no son of mine. Get out! Leave this kingdom! You are hereby banished from this kingdom!" The prince tried in vain to get his father to understand. The guards dragged the prince away as the king tended to Alex.
He brought her down to the throne room, where Victoria was waiting. Once Alex saw her, she ran to hug her friend. "I missed you, Alex." "I missed you too." "Let's get you home nice and safe." Alex nodded. Victoria told Alex everything she could think of. Alex was quiet the whole time. Victoria tried to get Alex involved. She even tried to make her laughed. In vain, in vain Alex just listened. Once they returned, Alex went straight to her room. Victoria made her tea and cookies. Once Alex saw them, she smiled. "I'm here for you if you need me." After a month, Victoria finally got her old friend back. Alex was laughing and eating again. The night before Victoria had to leave, Alex kissed her.
Confused, Alex explained, "I honestly don't know why but I don't want you to go. I want you to stay here with me." Victoria smiled and kissed Alex back. "I don't want to go either. I am going to come back to you, no matter what." "Can't I come with you?" "No, the vampire kingdom is no place for a human. I don't want you to get hurt." Alex hugged Victoria and began to cry. "But I love you. I want to marry you." "I love you too. That's why you have to stay here. I'll go settle a few matters. Then, I'll come right back and I'll never leave your side again. We'll get married and adopt a few kids. Nothing will separate us again.
"Victoria…" Alex hesitated. "What is it?" "I think I'm pregnant. The prince forced me into bed with him a couple times. I'm scared." Victoria held her tightly. "I'm not going to abandon you. I'll be gone for one month. Can you handle that long?" Alex nodded. "Has it begun kicking?" Alex smiled and nodded. The two talked about the baby until Alex fell asleep. Victoria didn't move a muscle. Victoria kept her word, and returned in one month. Alex was showing a bit more. Victoria had explained the situation to her father, who insisted that she not return without her wife and child. Victoria helped Alex in any way she could, even with the birth of their daughter. She was as beautiful as her mother. Her hair was white with one streak of black on her left. Big light blue eyes and a laugh that made everyone's day.
Victoria insisted that their daughter was hers. Alex didn't mind but asked, "What do you mean?" "She's a vampire like me. She doesn't share anything with that man." Alex laughed, "If you say so." What they didn't know was that the prince never really left. Once little Emily was three, Victoria was invited to the crowning of the new king of vampires. She begged Alex to go with her. Alex said, "Take Emily and have fun. You can tell me about it when you return." Victoria did as she was told and took Emily. It was a three night trip. Once they left, Alex went ahead and did the laundry. The prince took this chance to stab her with a poisoned dagger. The prince satisfied, left the kingdom and never looked back.
Once Victoria and Emily returned, Victoria could smell blood and had Emily wait with the guard. Victoria found her love dead in their living room with a letter. She read the letter and cried. "My dearest wife, I'm sorry I have to leave you and our daughter. I think I understand why you called her yours. She may look like me however she acts like you. My dearest, I won't die from blood lost but I will from the poison. Don't blame yourself. I never did and our daughter never will. I love you and our baby. Never forget that. Please, do your best without me. Forever yours, Alex." Victoria cried for what seemed like hours. Then, went outside to her daughter and told her the news. The two left that town. However, every year they go back for the anniversary of her passing. They tell her everything that happened that year. Then, leave with the promise to return again next year.
