Chapter 1: Woods

I start down the snow covered path of my home. A log cabin in the middle of a forest, i see the that the fire is going. She's home. I start smiling with the thought of her and the great memories we've made. I open the door and see her sitting reading a book. I put my jacket up and take my boots off and walk towards her. She looks up from her book. She's still as beautiful as the day we first met. I give her a wink and say, "so is what your reading any good?" . I look into her eyes just like a galaxy spiraling. "Its alright, but you know what would be better right now?" I stop spacing out, "uhm let me guess, a kiss?" She sets her book down and stands up. I pull her into a hug and look down at her "you know i dont think ill be as tall as you" i kiss her forehead "well seems to how we're a little old for that probably not" i let go and look back into her eyes lost in thought "how're you feelin?" I blink into focus "well i was a little chilly but after that hug im all warmed up". I start to wonder off in thought mainly about her and how i got so lucky, we had just moved into the cabin it was a little unfurnished but there's just something about simplicity that makes a person feel safe, i head toward the kitchen to get something to drink. "Do we still have hot chocolate?" I asked. "I don't know it should be in the cabinet hun" i look at her with a confused look "hun?, really" shes giggles and says "well, of course we live together". Everytime i look at her its like time stops and its just her and I whisper "one day". "What?". "Nothin" one day ill propose but not yet i want it to be special, To be the thing she will always remember, to be the thing she can always look towards for happiness. I love her with all my being and to the stars. She means everything to me, she's the one who helped me open up and show who i am. She turned a raging monster into a tame man. "I love you" i say under my breath. We go in our bedroom and go to sleep for the night. I wake up next to her in my arms smiling while she sleeps. Sadly I can't stay i have to go, so i kiss her on the forehead and get out of bed to get dressed. I reach the front door when she walks up from behind me and hugs me. "Don't go babe" she says with a saddened voice, "i have to hun" i reply with a hint of sadness, i turn around and kiss her on the lips and head to work. "I didn't get much done though my thoughts kept drifting to her. As i head home I found a sickly dog by the side of the road so i put in the car in hopes of saving it. When i got home i sat him down next to the fire to warm him up." I hope he lives " i say to myself. She doesn't get home from school till later so i think ill take a nap. I sat in my chair relaxing and drifted to sleep. It was the same dream though, I'd gotten used to it. A forest covered in snow frozen in time. I walked around for a bit till i got to the cliff and laid down. I woke up a few hours later when she got home. I checked on the dog he was warmer and his pulse was stronger, "I'll take him to the vet when he wakes up i whisper". I walk up to her, " how was school, babe? ". It  was school she replied looking at the dog." What happened she said worried. "He's alive just cold, asleep, and probably hungry so im gonna get some dog food and take it to the vet tomorrow".
