Chapter 5: Humans
After filling his body up with a big feast, Locke decided it would be best to go deeper into the forest. He needed to get stronger quicker because he didn't know what many intelligent entities could be capable of. Much to his surprise, he came upon a group of humans who were guarding a carriage.
It looked to be well made and filled with trading goods, the 3 people outside were most likely guards hired to protect the merchant.

Looking at all 3 of their stats, they were most focused around their classes. 'That John guy has insane damage while being quite mediocre at everything else. Mira focuses most of her stats into magic as she is a healer, I'll take her out first. Vermon is also troublesome with his defenses, he probably has many skills up his sleeve.' Locke analyzed his opponents as he thought on whether or not to engage in combat. He ended up choosing to fight all 3 as he felt the need to exert himself after training for so long. He planned his attack the moment the healer wasn't on guard while everyone else was doing something else. He activated his azure claw as his frontal leg glowed in an azure tint, he launched himself forward before any of them could recognize him. He aimed his claw towards the healer's fragile neck and quickly made work of her without showing mercy. Her healing would have been a bother as it would have prolonged the fight for longer than he wanted. John and Vermon immediately reacted by showing shock and rage that a 6-meter tall dragon had killed their friend/sister. They both didn't waste time and immediately went for a frontal assault on Locke.
Locke didn't waste time and went for the counter, but Vermon mana enhanced his shield and blocked the attack for John. John continued his assault and was able to rip into the flesh of Locke, their sudden anger made John put 100% into ever hit. Even though death was common in this world, seeing their friends die still hurt more than ever. Locke did not care though, he had never met nor seen them, they were fair game.
Locke recovered from the laceration and immediately went for the direct offense with his tail. He managed to bash John's skull into the ground who couldn't move dodge in time. He used this to his advantage and predicted Vermon would use another mana shield enhancement on his shield to protect John. After the spell dispersed, Vermon was breathing heavily and gasping for air because he had used a huge portion of his mana in the spell. Locke saw it as an opportunity to take them both out at the same time. He powered a massive Azure Flamethrower that incinerated them both and left nothing.

Locke was happy with his current progress and wanted to celebrate, but he realized the merchant was still alive and running off. To quickly end things, Locke fired an Azure Flame at the merchant which incinerated his body. He walked over to the fancy carriage and looked inside to find something useful. What he found was lots of silver and gold which activated some of his dragon instincts for greed. Many dragons would collect precious metals and items because of their nature, this is why subjugating dragons is highly rewarding. Dragons are also very powerful, it's a high risk for high reward.

Satisfied with his current strength, Locke realized he was twice as strong as humans at the same level. This drew into question whether it was his species or god messing around with his point allocation. He figured it was both at the end of the day because there was no other explanation for why he was this strong compared to others at level 100-120. His strength is something you only see once you reach level 200-250. It's also known that you unlock a second class at level 200 which further boosts your strength, Locke's growth is something that may make many powerhouses seek his life. After all, who wouldn't want to slay such an abnormal dragon and take the loot for themselves? What Locke had not realized was that the merchant guild would grow distressed and send many more adventurers to look for the merchant who went 'missing'. He would have to face people at level 200 and above sooner or later.
