Chapter 3: Exploring

Currently I had physically no money for my system, and the only ways to get that according to it was to trade in either the currency of the world I was in, sale items of that world to the system if they were notable enough or to find and kill creatures of that world. The currency of the world, and the sale items option has a certain blockade however. The system would analyse how much money the user has and make the user pay accordingly for just one point. This meant if the user was rich in one world he would need to pay more than when he is poor within that world to get system money. This was also the same for items.

Looking around the cave I found myself in now completely dark and quit as I had quite yelling and absorbed the glowing book from earlier I wondered just which way I should go. That's when a screen popped up in front of me with a map on it marked with a place to go. "Sentient race settlement." Reading it I clicked on the words finding something ominous about it's description. Many work to live. Many Work till they die. Many, many, suffer as they go on begging for maybe just one day they could be helped. Now it's up to you.

Deciding their was nothing else I could do as I didn't know the cave I slowly made my way towards the destination as best I could following the feeling of the walls. That changed however when my hand felt a bump on the wall. Feeling it out as I noticed it felt weird, and thought came to my mind that terrified me. With both hands on on the wall I felt the object I wish it wasn't. Feeling puke come out of me as I knelled on the ground and whimpered in misery. I had just felt a human skull inside out. I knew what it was. My mind working with the system to identify the "Possible Goods". Feeling sick once more at the thought I slowly crawled away from where I was to only trip once more on something. This time the rest of the skeleton my mind supplied me. Getting ready to scream I stopped when I heard something.

From the distance a clinking could be heard as something walked along the trail. Getting beside the dead body of bones pretending to be dead I let is pass me. Something told me deep down I would die if I didn't. Looking towards the direction it went as it passed by me I caught the glow of what seemed to be a ghost. A ghost of a prison ward. Now I truly wondered just where in the world I was.

Finally having passed I got up instantly and wondered just what I could do. I no longer knew if I should be going wherever I should be going. Frankly I was also scared for my life. If the skeleton next to me was a sign of what would happen to me if I was caught. Admittedly I was regretting. Regretting ever picking up the book, putting my friends in danger by letting them be my employees, and regretting being born for once a Pines. That's when I remembered something. My grandfather had dealt with something that could not be told and passed down. That meant my grandfather likely fought off whatever had caused this whole thing. Feeling energy flood my systems I decided to do what my grandfather did, and deal with this whole situation without giving up.

Following that I started walking, step by step towards the place of my likely doom. "If I fail, Jake, Cady, I'm sorry."
