Chapter 53: Chapter 53: Venom
We look around until the sun is about to set. We find a cave.
Leorio: "Is she in there?"
Gon: "Yeah, no doubt about it."
Kurapika: "What's your plan?"
Leorio: "I'm going in. I want you guys to wait here."
He uses a stick to tests for possible traps before coming back.
Leorio: "I'll head inside. Wait until I give the ok."
Kurapika: "30 minutes. If after 30 minutes we haven't heard from you, we're coming to find you."
Leorio: "No way. If you don't hear from me you 3 go right back to the start."
Kurapika: "That's not an option. We have formed an alliance, and I will not abandon you now."
Leorio: "Then this alliance is over. I know it's selfish considering how much you've helped me, but I've got to do this alone."
Gon: "No way."
Leorio: "What did you say?!"
Gon: "We're staying here cause we want to! It's our choice, so is that a problem?"
Leorio: "…fine, suit yourself."
Leorio tosses his suit case to Gon. He catches it.
Leorio: "Hang on to that for me."
He walks into the cave. We wait for a long time. I have a bad feeling.
Gon: "He's taking too long. What do you think?"
Kurapika: "yes, but his 30 minutes are almost up."
Leorio: "Kurapika, Gon, Esther, don't come in!"
As if. We charge in, I feel many eyes upon us. We see Leorio on the ground, many bite-marks on himself. He's bleeding. I run to him.
Leorio: "You idiots. I thought I told you not to come in."
Gon: "These snakes, they're a kind of viper. They are poisonous but it's not that strong. Still, with this many bites…"
Gon begins to suck some of the poison from Leorio's arm.
Leorio: "stop…one cut in your mouth, or even a little cavity…"
Gon: "Don't worry about it."
Kurapika: "Leorio, do you have any anti-venom in here?"
Leorio: "If I did…maybe…I would've been able…to save you guys at least."
Esther: "There's more snakes, aren't there? I can feel many stares-"
Before I could finish what I was saying, Leorio faints.
Esther: "Damn! If only I knew what kind of venom it was, I could save him!"
Kurapika: "Let's stop the bleeding for now."
We treat Leorio to the best of our abilities.
Esther: "We still need to get him to a doctor."
