Chapter 78: Centoria
The next few days John visited the cave a few times to make sure nothing came from the other side as he places various seals around the other entrance so nothing could enter the cave.
Then John with Nesiara's help got some pieces of the Gigas Cedar to make weapons out of it.
They continue to stay for a bit longer until a person arrived at their doorsteps. It was a woman with very long brown tied in a ponytail and navy blue eyes that resembled sky fading in the twilight. She was wearing a school uniform that John and Nesiara didn't recognize.
"Hello, my name is Sortiliena Serlut. I was commanded by one of my teachers to come here and bring you to Centoria. They would like to recruit you as a teacher," says Sortiliena as she takes out a letter with the Sword Mastery School Seal on it.
John takes it as he says, "Well come inside then. I will have to read the letter before giving my answer."
Sortiliena entered the house as she sees the Twins throwing a ball to each other while Yui was watching that they don't overdo it.
John sits down besides Nesiara as he opens the letter and reads it with her while Sortiliena was sitting across them.
"It seems like Fang and Jinx made a name of themselves in Centoria," says Nesiara after reading the letter.
"Yes, but why should only I become a teacher is a question you are a master in fighting with the spear," says John when Sortiliena interrupts.
"It's because it's a Sword Mastery Academy after all. We only train with swords there that is most likely why only you were recommended by Sir Fang," says Sortiliena as she explained how the Academy only taught how to fight with a sword.
"Well then it can't be helped but what about my family. I won't leave them behind," says John as Sortiliena takes a piece of paper out that looked like a document.
"This is a document giving you a house in Centoria that is big enough to house your family. Many were against it but Miss Jinx pushed it through," says Sortiliena as she handed it over to them.
"Well, that means we will be together it seems," says Nesiara as she looked at the document while John wasn't looking that happy.
"Are there houses that can fit someone like me?" asks John since his height had some advantages but the disadvantage was that he had to live in a house that was big enough for him not to hit his head against the roof.
"That should not be a problem we have some houses you could live that have quite bigger rooms for people with your heights," says Sortiliena remembering some houses that John could fit in.
"Well then it seems it's time to leave Rulid," says Nesiara as she was sad that they will leave this house behind while also happy to reunite with Jinx again.
"Maybe we should tell Kirito that we are leaving and pack our things to leave tomorrow," says John as Nesiara nods.
Sortiliena was quite excited about traveling with John and the others because she heard stories from Fang and Jinx about them.
John went to talk with Kirito while Nesiara with the help of Sortiliena began to pack the things they will be needing in Centoria.
When he arrives at the Gigas Cedar, he finds Kirito and Eugeo resting against the tree and says, "It seems we will separate here."
"Separate?" asks Kirito as John nods.
"Yes, but we will meet again. We will await you in Centoria. I will be a teacher there," says John as he started to fly in front of Eugeo and cuts the peak of the Gigas Cedar.
"This should weaken it a bit. I hope we meet again in less than one and a half years from now," says John as Justice stores the part of Gigas Cedar away.
"I really want to see you two in better form when we meet again since I won't go easy on you two once you arrive," says John as he then returns home.
The next day they left the house behind as John and Nesiara were quite melancholic about it before leaving. Sortiliena was riding her horse while the family was on Inu's back.
They arrived at Centoria after a week of traveling. Sortiliena guided them through the city as the twins had sparkles in their eyes since it was their first visit to such a big city.
They arrived at the Academy were two persons were waiting for them. John and Nesiara could clearly recognize them as Jinx and Fang.
They hug each other as Jinx walks over to see the little ones while Fang began to report to John about everything that happened in Centoria.
"Sortiliena you can leave now," says Fang as she nods and leaves. She learned a lot from training with John and Nesiara when they were camping outside.
"So you think the person we will face is in the Cathedral," says John as Fang nods.
"Yes, doesn't it remind you of one thing that giant Cathedral," says Fang hinting at something.
"Aincrad," says Nesiara as Fang snaps his finger.
"That's right. It's built almost like that Dungeon you needed to climb in Aincrad just that it isn't a dungeon but a building," says Fang when Jinx interrupts.
"We should talk somewhere else more private," says Jinx as the adults nod and they began to move.
They walked towards the house that Fang and Jinx arranged for them as it was quite bigger than a normal house.
Entering the house John was quite happy since he didn't need to care about hitting his head against the door frame because the door was 3m tall.
"Whoever made the house knew that giants were about to live here," says Nesiara as the roof was quite up than normally making her feel small in a room that was 3,5m high.
"We told the Architect that a big man that was almost 3m tall will live in it. He then began to plan and after everything was built many were questioning why the house was bigger than the others beside it," says Jinx as she explained everything.
After they unpacked the things Fang asks, "When are we going to strike?"
"Not yet," says John as Fang was a little disappointed but knew why John didn't want to strike for now.
Nora and Kieron weren't even two yet. John and Nesiara wanted them to grow up normally for now while Yui was quite strong for her age she was still in training with her companions.
"We will wait until Kirito and Eugeo graduate from the Swords Mastery Academy," says Nesiara as she and John already spoke about it already long ago.
The Twins would be reaching four by then and Nesiara wanted to train them how normally a Wyrm would be trained with John having nothing against it.
They had a peaceful childhood until almost reaching four he remembers how his father tried to awaken his power when he was two but nothing ever happened.
"Then I should bring you tomorrow to the Academy and present you to your coworkers and the students you will be teaching," says Fang as they stayed for dinner before returning to their own house they had in Centoria.
The next day Nesiara took the children with Jinx for a more detailed tour through the city while Fang went with John to the Academy Ground.
They arrived as some of the teachers weren't really happy about John becoming a teacher in the Academy since most of them were aristocrats.
Fang was about to introduce John to the teachers when one of them says, "Just because he is big doesn't make him a good swordsman. He doesn't even carry a sword with him."
"I carry my sword with me but not everyone is worthy to see it or my fighting style," says John as that provoked the teachers that were against his recruitment.
"How about this? You both fight and the loser has to leave the Academy," says Fang as he already knew the result of the fight.
"I'm fine with that, principal," says the teacher as John nods.
"Then follow me we should let the students see a good fight between teachers that would help them improve," says Fang as they entered a building that looked like an arena.
Students were fighting right now nearby as the teacher entered the room. The students made way as the teachers occupied one of the fields.
They were curious as they took a seat around the field to watch what was going to happen. Sortiliena also took a seat as she was curious how strong John really was compared to their teachers.
"This is a match between two of our teachers. The loser will leave the Academy while the winner will stay," says Fang as the teacher got in position holding a rapier in his hand.
John gets in position as Yamato manifest in front of him. Many were excited to see that a sword came out of thin air as were some of the teachers while thinking it was a Divine Weapon.
John draws Yamato as the teacher rushed at him. John moved quite fast as he passed the teacher without the students and teachers seeing him move.
The rapier that the teacher was holding was cut into many pieces as the teacher says, "That can't be."
"You call yourself a swordmaster. My teacher would have punched you to death for calling yourself a swordmaster," says John as he outs Yamato into his sheath and it disappears in thin air again.
"We have a winner it seems," says Fang as he looks at the teachers that were quite nervous.
"You can't throw me o-," says the teacher that lost against John when he suddenly stops because of the pressure he was feeling coming towards him.
He looked from where the pressure was coming from seeing that it came from John, he stopped as he left the room as fast as possible before everything escalates.
"Anyone else thinks that John isn't good enough as a teacher?" asks Fang knowing that the teachers wouldn't protest.
"Then it's official John Crownguard will be a teacher in this academy," says Fang as many students suddenly ran down to ask for advice.
John gave them some pointers here and there. He even looked at their stance to help them improve when Fang arrives at his side.
"Now students if you excuse us. I still need to show Teacher Crownguards were his office is," says Fang as he drags John away from the building as they enter another building to show him the office he will be having from today on.
After that, he guided him to where he will be lecturing the students as well as the canteen for when he is hungry.
"I can't return home to eat?" asks John confused about Fang showing him the canteen.
"You can but be prepared for the students to follow you home when they have questions for you," says Fang as the tour finished and continues, "Tomorrow is your first day so good luck."
