The Overlord's tasks

"No, hell if i will register, i just want to comision someone to teach me weapon work, damn it, you're worse than a car saleswoman!" Aki stomped his foot and answered the guild master for the fifth time. "By the way, that is a profession that literraly consists of ripping off people with used transport veicules that are either old or have a glaring problem that causes a luxury good to turn into an average product or worse. You're just like that. I don't really know how you reached this place, but you would definetly do even better in a bank, because only someone much with a much higher position would not at least fucking try to pretend to listen to the customer!" He complained, hitting several nails on to the guild master's heart yet again. His look gave the impression he was very close to spitting at her if she tried to be 'indirect' again.

She would never show it outwardly, but she just wanted to crawl to her bed and hug that bottle she saved for special ocassions. This guy was too much. It's like he read a book about being the worst scumbag and them decided to send the author lethers about how to be worse (Her point of view)! She'd barely spoke five sentences damn it! How can you know what i will say so well?!

"I understand. I shaw not bother you anymore sir. Vicky, process his request, i have other mathers to attend to." She said and ran out of the room. Her assistant had warn eyes to the fit redhead and only hostility to the new city owner.

"What? Would she have stopped if i didn't do that? I just want to file my request, but she wanted to talk before the official gathering, she should expect the consequences for trying to play with me. Now, will the guild refuse a request because they couldn't scam someone, or will you fill my request?" Aki didn't have an ounce of pity for the woman, she'd offered herself as a example and he'd used his chance. There would be higher monitoring over the guild ground, and it would certainly not be entirely to make sure they weren't plotting anything.

Leaving the building, Aki was suddenly hit by a weak rock, thrown by a little well dresed boy with golden hair and blue eyes. His mother could be seen running towards him. The first thing he thought was that it was a trap. Slowly approaching, he knelt in front of the boy and looked directly into his eyes.

"Don't trow rocks at people, they can get hurt if they have less endurance and you will get your mother into trouble." He said while pulling the boy's cheeks. Tears started filling his eyes. His mother was getting closer and had a terrorised expresion. Letting the boy go, Aki patted his head. "I imagine you are the guard captain's offspring. Yeah, that look confirms it. Look, your father really wanted to protect you and your mother, so he tried to stop me out of fear and duty. He was an idiot, but i was a bad person. It's ok if you hate me, but remenber love is much more important. Your father can only see so much of your mother's tears before he too becomes sad in the after life, so you have to make sure she only cries of happines. Do you understand?" Aki sternly looked at the child, saying each word with seriousness that made even the assasin gunning for him take pause. The boy's mother had entered earshot at some point and got a bit confused, but she was still worried about her child. Aki asked again and let go of the boy's shoulder when he nodded in response.

"Ma'am, please pay more attention to your child, he could have injured someone or been taken somewhere by some unsavory time roaming the alleyways." Aki warned her, before giving both an earful about a mouthfull of nothing, not letting either speak before he left with one last 'carefull advice for parenting' while heading towards where the assasing was being repeatdly kicked in the balls for saying some offensive words to two female undead.

He'd have to save the man from the bleading, but he was definitly not saving his decendants. Even if he was raised with a mother that carred a lot about appearances and manners, he'd never just stop and give out a lecture about raising your child if the man didn't actually deserve it. Plus he'd made some advertising while at it.

Walking through the fields, Aki scratches several calculations at a time, most of them wrong, but he didn't mind it much. It wasn't his fault after all, but the problems of translation through measuring systems and innacuracy of the former measures, mostly because they were outdated, but some were simply sloppily made, leaving it to him and others with mathematical expertise.

Such people consisted mostly of scribes, nobles and some merchants, but Aki was obviously not hogging them all for something like this.

Everyone in this task had a magically enhanced mind, sure, but Aki was the only one who could think with the speed of a micro computer. They were all in a below a tent made to guard against the sun and receiving data from a flying magician (undead).

As for why none of them had a WIS training regimen like Aki...

"Sir, sir!" The man flying by his side screamed, finally getting Aki to pay attention. "We should go down!" He screamed, having some difficulty keeping up with the man.

"If you need a break you can go. I want to finish two more fields." Aki nonchalantly said while waving the zombie off.

"But sir, your brain is trying to drip out!" Said the man, pointing at the blood and brain fluid draining from most of his boss' face holes. Even for an undead like him, something like that would mean extreme damage was being done to his cortex.

"Oh..." Aki calmly touched his nose and saw that the liquid driping proprably wasn't just blood, so he nodded and redoubled his healing spells "Yeah, i guess i need to stop for a while. It's good for grinding, but i can't be too weak since i haven't anyone's loyalty yet." He said and nodded, stopping his blood magic and de-accelerating his flight. He then stored his notes and took out a tea kettle and a cup before cleaning his face with simple water magic.

Result: Aki gained around eighty points in his mental stats and the charting of the territory was done in one noon.

That same night.

Even as the streets quieted down, there would normally be some vagrants walking around, but not tonight. Tonight, there were only undead patroling the streets, screams, blood and pain.

Result: City's underworld dismantled. More than five thousand man recruited as slaves. Casualties of fifty dead thugs and twenty hurt zombies. Several illegal substances and weaponry confiscated. Proof of several nobles and merchants being involved in the crime scene were acquired, to be judged later based on utility as blackmailed personel or slaves with confiscated possesions.

The morning after Aki took over the city.

Eric looked around the table. There were seven other men and womem of importance besides himself. Aki, who was heading the table. Elize, a beutiful woman and the new guard captain, who was sat with an undead as her second in command. The adventurer's guild master, who looked like she'd not gotten a wink of sleep nor time to tide her hair. The builder's guild master, who seemed just as tired, but the grizly gnome actually had a briliant smile on his face. The crafter's guild master, as expresionless as a normal lizard-kin, wasn't showing much of any reaction to the situation. The merchant's guild master... The young-ish gentleman seemed to have lost most of the collor and luster in his black hair, but was otherwise normal if a bit pale. Samal, the lich was just there, with his arms crossed and smoking a pipe, somehow looking impatient and irritated with his bony face.

"Good morning everyone. I see that some have slept better than others, but there's no need for screaming, so it should be fine." Aki said while looking at the hangover red head and the magicly cleaned lich for a bit. "I imagine everyone has guessed that this meeting is for further instructions in how to run the city, new policies and rules, besides other boring and nescessary things." He said and noded. "The biggest anouncemet is that the state will be commisioning the builder's guild to push the city's space upwards and downwards to alocate the doubling population." Said bomb actually caused everyone but Samal and the builder's guild master to almost fall backwards in surprise. "Of course, the crafter's guild will be commisioned to provide several basic household commodities and even help with the specialized buildings, the bureou will help to realocate those living in areas of interest over to temporary lodgings and the guard will have to be remanaged to better police every area of the new territory, but those are plans for later since the time table of such projects is rather large, maybe extending over a season of two." He non-chalantly said.

"ONE OR TWO SEASONS?!" Surprisingly enough, the first to react was not any of the guild masters, nor a living, but the undead who was second in command in the guard. He shouted in complete surprise and euphory, causing all those with some diferent 'tiredness' a headache. "My lord..." The zombie looked over to the lich clutching his nasal bones, who simply nodded at him. This caused the zombie to fall to his knees and start to cry his eyes out.

"Could, could someone tell me what's happening?" Asked the surprised guard captain, holding the ear that had been shouted at thank to her position. She'd only met the undead by her side for one day, but she knew he was the stoic tipe that would never cry easily.

"You see, i didn't simply summon a giant army of undead, i summoned Samal. Only him." Aki calmly said. Causing a bit more shock, but everyone present could make the logical jump there. "He has arround a hundred fifty thousand undead with him, twenty five being military personal, while the rest are simple civilians. All those are going to be summoned at the pace we can accomodate them, but i'm giving the project a maximun time table of half an year. As long as we have enough mages with motivation it shouldn't be too hard. The original time in the contract was much bigger, but i want civilians for many reasons." Aki gave them a bit more time to process his intentions and proceed with the small things and regulations they'd have from now on.

It took until mid day, but everything was easily sorted out.

*****

Receiving a stab, Aki tried to parry it and ended up losing two fingers to the feint. Again. He didn't stop and changed his grip to defend the next upward slash, using the posture to adjust his own sword to his teacher's neck while the sword aiming for his kidney stopped midswing.

"Yeah, this isn't working, i relly too much on regeneration, maybe if three people come at me at the same time it won't matter?" Aki tried to say after he won against his sword trainer again.

"No, this is already an absurd level of swordmanship skill for someone who only took it up for two hours. And i'm the only one with stamina to keep up. Or hurt you aparently. You sure this is fine?" Asked the surprisingly meek man, who was even taller and bulkier than Aki. One of the few peak third rankers in the city. Before the undead army came, but still.

"Of course, i won't get the most XP or training if there isn't at least the risk of losing my head. That's one of the disadvantages of following the true resistance regimen, but the benefits far outweight such things." Aki said, looking at his level 3 sword technique skill, the couple of points in vitality and the extra level in enhanced attribute values.

Some undead listening in nodded since their species actually had a diferent consideration of what 'fatal bodily damage' was as well. All present, bar the teacher, are battle maniacs who are either always accompanied by a healer or versed in healing themselves though. Yeah, make you own judgement on this.

"Besides, this is a great way to meet the capable people in the city." He said, patting the bigger man on the shoulder.

"Sir, someone has come on the proposal of being an archery teacher." One of the human guards in the place told him. He looked a bit pale after entering, but was holding up relatively well.

"Oh, i'm better on that, should give it a try." Aki energically said, like he hadn't just bleed tens of liters of blood while leaving fingers, hands, legs, some eye juice, and three ears over the floor. "It's alright with you, right big guy? I gotta switch things up a bit or this would get dull fast." Aki explained to the adventure with a big smile, getting a nod.

"I'm just gonna be over the benches. Even i can get tired of lugging twenty kilos of stell around." He said and followed with what he said, getting pats on the back from two undead who oversaw his perseverance.

The man was too tired to care that neither of said people had flesh in their hands.

"Why are there multiple body parts on the floor?" Asked the huntress vigilantly looking over the room with ten or so very strong undead.

"That was written on the request, no? 'Might contain scenes of carnage that would normally suggest for the killing of several people.', I was pretty specific that it was important when the clerck asked." Aki nonchalantly said while looking around and back at the woman. "So, i'm Aki, your trainee and new supreme overlord, the second part is a joke." He said while smiling at her and offering his non blodied hand.

CREATORS' THOUGHTS
Akichi Akichi

Please, note that a twenty kilo sword outside of a fantasy scenario is a very, very big weapon with shit balance even if the character is strong.
