"Amara?" I called out her name after stepping out of the sickroom. 

I was hoping to see the two of them waiting right outside the door, but my eyes only landed on the empty pillar across the corridor which was standing tall and proud, mocking me for my foolishness.

My eyes trailed to the right end of the corridor and I breathed out a relaxed sigh. They were standing on the far end of the corridor, waiting for me. For a fleeting second, the thought of being left behind did envelop my mind. But it seemed like I was overthinking.

Amara was right. I should have been thankful to her for how she handled the situation. Not only was she able to explain things to Michael, she did it in a way that he was not running for the hills, which was eventually a good thing for me. Even if he had decided not to go around spilling beans before others, I might have lost him for good.
