Chapter 7: More Training

{The Next Day...}

Because of how tired he got after fighting in the simulation, Fumio decided to leave that for the end of the training session.

Right now, he was falling off the tree over and over, because he was trying to use bursts of chakra to keep him on, instead of a steady stream.

The chakra that he would save by doing this was very low, but who knows how much that little bit of chakra might matter in a Ninjutsu fight. Plus, it was good practice for his concentration.

Additionally, Fumio knew that there weren't any rivers or ponds inside the capital so he was also stalling a bit before he would start running on the trees, because he had time.

---

{Four days Later...}

In those four days, Fumio also became substantially better at fighting, but it was hard to notice because his opponent greatly improved as well.

Before fighting, he would repeat a few taekwondo moves, that were demonstrated by a ghostly figure, and would use those moves when it was the perfect moment when fighting his weird self in a simulation.

This would catch his opponent off guard before it too would learn it.

And before studying and repeating otherworldly demonstrations, Fumio would make major progress with improving his Tree Climbing, or more precisely, Tree Standing slightly more chakra-efficient.

Today, he was able to stand on the tree by supplying bursts of chakra to the bottom of his feet, which he felt didn't require any celebration.

---

{A few weeks later...}

A few caretakers came out to check up on Fumio for the first time, but were in awe to see the 5-year-old casually walking on a tree.

Fumio noticed their presence, from how loud they were compared to the nature that surrounded him, as he supplied over the usual amount of a burst of chakra to the bottom of his feet.

He wasn't trying to leave the tree to go talk to them, but instead, he was trying to learn how to use how he gets pushed away by the tree, when supplying too much chakra, to launch him without injuring him.

It was certainly easier said than done. The only way, he came up with, was to find out how to absorb the physical shock created by the misused chakra, with his leg's muscles, preferable all of his body's muscles, instead of his leg's immature bones.

The caretakers left after writing something down, Fumio didn't think it would hinder his future, so he let it be. Not that he would've done anything to them if it did.

Anyways, he couldn't find an answer to his question before it seemed like the book gods had shone some holy-book-light on him.

On the third page of the Chakra Control Guidebook, there was finally some new text!

[Introduction to Climbing via Chakra Adhesion]

[During Missions, Shinobi must travel long distances in a short time. If they come across steep terrain or any obstacle, they use Chakra Adhesion to let them cross the obstacle in a shorter time than without using Chakra Adhesion.]

[*When too much Chakra is supplied during Chakra Adhesion, Host should supply more Chakra to counteract the shock from Host's failure to prevent injuries that would delay Host's training.*]

'Why didn't I think of this? I need to learn more from this guidebook...' Fumio thought, as he felt excited to try out the guidebook's second helpful advice. Yes, he started counting.

He also learned that bending his legs would place more of the stress on his muscles, and he didn't like the idea of using his fragile bones to hold chakra that are meant to counteract possibly large amounts of shock.

Especially since he had no money to his name currently. His orphanage might pay for his medical fees, but he hated being a burden to anybody.

And so, training went as usual for 8 months...

---

{8 Months Later...}

Fumio could be seen jumping between the sides of many trees. Although this was slower than running in a straight line, it looked cooler and could be used to dodge stuff.

However, it was torture for his calf muscles.

Anyways, it was now fair to say that he had more than mastered Tree Climbing, at the age of 5 years and 10 months old.

He hadn't tried running on the trees yet but he was sure that he could master it in a few days, considering he'd started with something way more difficult.

After this, he learned a couple of Taekwondo moves, which he needed to do before every fight to actually have an advantage against the clone.

Fumio would also chat a bit with his orphan friends, but he wasn't very close to them.

However, the morning after, Fumio's usual training schedule got interrupted by the orphanage's supervisor calling for him, along with a few other orphans...
