Chapter 4: [+1 Mastery Point]

Laying on the grass, Fumio felt an urge to sleep since he was also low on Chakra.

Afterward, he noticed the Chakra Control Guidebook that was hovering over him, after he had finally opened his eyes.

[Requirements for Chakra Control Guidebook Mastery Upgrade - Met!]

[Chakra Control Guidebook's Mastery] Sprout -> Novice

[+1 Mastery Point]

'Huh, reminds me of the cultivation novels I would read... and how they would rank a cultivator's mastery level of a martial skill...' Fumio thought.

He sat up cross-legged and opened the blue book to sate his curiosity.

However, he was slightly disappointed to see that everything written in the book remained the same.

Fumio shifted his attention to the "+1 Mastery Point" that he received, as he said in his head, 'Close the Chakra Control Guidebook.'

In response to his command, the sky-blue covered book transformed into the primary, heavier violet book.

He opened the book and was glad to find what he was looking for.

[Mastery Points]

[After leveling up a Guidebook's Mastery, Host will be rewarded with varying numbers of Mastery Points.]

[Mastery Points can be used to directly buy a desired Guidebook, without needing to meet its Requirements.]

[However, a Guidebook's Mastery will always start out as Sprout if it's unlocked via Mastery Points.]

[Tip: To Spend Mastery Points, Say or Think, "Open Guidebook Shop," with the intent to do so.]

Fumio made a wide smile as he realized how helpful these Mastery Points were, before he said in his head, 'Open the Guidebook Shop, please.'

The violet book shook before it flipped to a page that looked very similar to an RPG's pay-to-win Shop Screen.

[Search Guidebooks] [Unspent Mastery Points: 1]

[Recommended {Affordable} Guidebooks] Taijutsu (Jiu-Jitsu), Taijutsu (Taekwondo), Taijutsu (Naruto-Styled), Chakra Molding (Two-Handed Hand-Signs).

Fumio was intrigued by the Recommended Guidebooks, before using the search function on the page to look for other Guidebooks first.

However, he wasn't able to find anything that would help him as much as the ones that were recommended to him.

'Hm... I was okay with learning the taijutsu that the Hidden Rock Shinbo would teach me. However, I'm very interested in the other variations,' Fumio thought, before continuing.

'What I know from also being a UFC-weeb, Jiu-Jitsu is where the fighter does not strike and uses their enemy's strength against themselves. While Taekwondo focused on knocking opponents out with powerful kicks, preferably to the head.'

He decided on picking the Taekwondo variation, hoping that it wouldn't teach him moves that were too showy and ineffective in combat, something that was very common in modern fighting styles.

[-1 Mastery Point]

[Taijutsu (Taekwondo) Guidebook - Purchased!]

[Taijutsu (Taekwondo) Guidebook's Initial Mastery] Sprout

[Tip: Host is not limited to only one Taijutsu Variation; However, when combined {A Recommended Alternative to Learning Two Combine-able Guidebooks at once}, a Taijutsu Guidebook's difficulty-to-master will rise by many folds.]

Fumio looks up and notices that it was getting darker, before deciding to learn more about his new Guidebook on his bed.

---

{15 Minutes Later...}

Fumio was laying on his upper bunk-bed, ignoring the loud snoring of his three roommates, as he opened to the first page of a similarly plain-looking lime-green book.

[Introduction to Taijutsu Second Variation, Taekwondo]

[In this Era, an Average Shinobi must have a Basic Mastery of Taijutsu to be Effective on Missions.]

[To create itself, The Guidebook stole the Essentials of Taekwondo, taken from Host's Past World, before Perfecting them through a Series of Trials, using the Parent-Book's efficacious Computing power.]

After guessing that it was referring to the violet book by "Parent-Book." Fumio was excited to see what the Guidebook had to offer, considering it boasted this much despite not being sentient.

Though he didn't know what to feel about the next sentence.

[If Host still perishes after reaching Perfection Mastery on this Guidebook, then Host's simplicity is all to blame.]

He noticed that the rest of the page was empty, before flipping to the next one.

[Tip: Host is recommended to Initiate "Progressive Training Mode" in an Open Space.]

[More details on the "Progressive Training Mode" will be available after its first activation.]

[Would you like to activate, "Progressive Training Mode?"] Y/N

Fumio's grey-colored eyes shone before he abruptly closed the book, making it disappear.

He closed his eyes and felt like he was too impatient to sleep, yet he was sound asleep in the next minute...

if you are UNSATISFIED with anything, (like the Taekwondo Variation Guidebook), I can DISINTEGRATE it and replace it with something equally LIT or just postpone it. LET ME KNOW.
