Chapter 5: Gather
In an office building in the central part of the city there are two hooded figures and a business man talking amongst themselves in an empty office.
"Master, two leaders of our cult have been killed."
"Ah. That weirdo and Charlotte are gone?"
"Yes"
"What else? Did you find the blade."
"Yes. It is in the hands of a University student. We don't know much of who she is but she is somehow able to control the blade better than the two leaders."
"Now this is interesting."
He got up from his chair and looked at the skyline in front of his office. He signalled them to leave. And in the corner of the room a monster rose from the floor. The floor was solid but his body was not. It looked like a demon that rose from hell.
"GiVe mE tHe CAOS bUrAdeed"
The man was calm and composed. The monster coming from the ground did not phase him.
"Relax I know where the blade is. Calm your little weird head."
"MAStah, wAnTs to Be$tow pOWer On you..."
The monster handed him a stone of some sort. He vanished even though he did not get what he wanted.
A figure appeared in front of him. He was cloaked and fairly tall.
"Hmm...Goliath good timing. I want you do something?"
"You do not control me. Master wants me to ask you. The blade is ours. No you."
He smiled. He was pondering in thought for a moment until he had an idea.
"Goliath, Charlotte is dead. What did you do with the bodies."
"We burned them."
"What about the room and the parents of the missing people?"
"Master said to leave it to him."
That bastard. He killed then all. They were targeted by their IDs.
"Thank you."
"Why so happy?"
He pulled out his phone. He recorded his responses on the missing bodies. He put his phone on his desk and pressed play.
"You listen to me now"
"Goliath no like this. Master will smash you."
"I don't think so. What I want you to do...."
"Goliath no, no, no."
He then gripped the stone in his left hand. Then a mark on his face then proceeded to form. This time it was a dragon. It glowed in the darkness of the evening.
He grabbed Goliath by his neck and lifted him up with his right hand.
"pOWEr is ThiS Overwhelming."
He threw him on the ground.
"gO. Don't come back until its Done."
Goliath disappeared like the others. The man sat in his office and looked at the skyline.
In the morning Mio copied the seals again on a piece of paper. She stared at them until she couldn't no more. She was confused.
"I don understand this shit. What the fuck?"
Then Professor Archette's voice rang in her head.
'Seven Deadly Sins'
"I'm not sure I understood any of that. I'm just going to leave like that. I'm going to school."
She had to cover the marks on her arms with multiple layers of clothing. There were markings on her face but it started to fade away. It was still visible. It was like a remnant of a removable tattoo.
On her way to school she felt a presence, someone was watching her. She could feel like multiple people were tracking her.
"What is this feeling? Its not like anything I've felt before. I can sense two or three people with the intention to kill."
Then she saw suspicious people on the subway. Not your ordinary suspicious people like the crazies you see every other day. She wanted to really be sure about her suspicions about them. When it was her stop to get off she moved to the front. She looked behind and could see a glimpse of two thugs pointing at her.
She got to the surface of the station and ran. She could see the three men she sensed while she was on the train.
"Why are they following me?"
She was happy that she was wearing a hood that day. She put it on and stopped by an alley way to left them pass. The thugs ran pass the alley way were she crouched.
"Damn. We lost her."
"What do we tell the boss?"
"Nothing. We won't give up until we got the chaos blade."
"Yo, I heard she pretty cute."
As he said that he saw his fellow thug just wiggle his tongue like a snake/lizard.
His friends had looks of disgust.
"Dafuq bro."
"Yeah. That's fuckin disgusting. I can't believe I let you drink my can of coke."
"Yeah. Fuckin weirdo."
"Fuckin garbage human ass, lookin ass, headass, deadass."
He got sad.
She recognized that they called for the blade. She was also concerned that the thugs had another leader, after the death of Charlotte. She thought that they disappeared or at least disbanded. Mio just went to school as normal and had a normal day, or so she thought.
At the front of her class building on her campus she saw one of the thugs rollin some dice with fellow hood mans.
"Oh Baby, mans gonna deadass get dis money"
"Nah, you a bust ass."
Proceeds to roll a 3.
Then the thug rolled a 7. He got up and started taunting him.
"Bitch! So you thought."
"Ha. Gotem" Someone yelled from the group
"Gimme my money."
He swiped the bills off the ground. Then he saw Mio.
"Ooooo Baby dis my lucky day. Boyz lets go."
Mio dun fucked up.
"Ah shit."
They chased after her through the crowd. Mio was weaving through the crowd trying to gain a distance away from the thugs but, she could not shake them off. Mio ran passed a bunch of buildings until she found a construction site.
"I can buy some time like last time."
Meanwhile before she entered the construction site the thugs came up with a plan. Thug 1 wanted him and thug 2 to chase after Mio from the rear. Thug 3 wanted to split and corner her in front.
Thug 3 saw Mio enter the construction site from a couple blocks away. He hid away in an alley way. He brought out his Nokia flip phone and proceeded to call his friends.
"Yo! You won't wanna believe this shit. Dis bitch finna hide in a construction site."
"Forreal, that's crazy. Lets link and build am I right...."
He paused for a second. He could not contain his anger at his friends joke.
"Imma meet you there. Just go around."
He hung up.
"What the fuck?"
Mio was on the bottom floor of an unfinished building.
"I don't think they will find me here."
She thought wrong. The thug 3 came from the back side of the abandoned building. While the other two were on the opposite side of her. She looked around to find other places to hide. She found a pile of lumber and metal beside a box. There was tarp over them that she can use to cover herself.
"Great i'll hide under there."
The thugs were scoping the place out. They checking all the possible places to hide.
Thug 2 found a pile of metal he thought someone could hide in.
"Look she might be in here."
"Don't shout stupid. She'll know that were here."
He checked the pile. It was impossible for anyone to hide in there. It was literally just a bunch of metal on the floor.
"Idiot, no one could hide in here. Its fuckin impossible."
"Oooooh Gotem."
"Bruh"
"He got you good."
Thug 1 got frustrated.
"Stop fuckin around and find the girl. We'll split up so we can cover more ground."
They eventually found a slightly opened box and some tarp over some lumber.
"Yo, I think someone might be in there."
"WHAT'S IN THE FUCKIN BOX?"
Thug 2 laughed.
"I always wanted to say that."
Both thug 1 and 3 had their head down in shame.
They opened the box and found nothing in it.
"Man. I'm hella disappointed."
The tarp started to move. The thugs were happy they started to rub their hands.
"Ooooo this is gettin spicy."
Thug 3 pulled out his knife and stabbed the tarp.
"Did you get her?"
No sound was made, the tarp was still wiggling.
"Nah, I don't think so"
A figure from behind came up behind one of them and hit them from the back of the head with a metal pole.
"Ow, dafuq. Man that shit hurt."
Mio was surprised. The blow to the back of someone's head will kill someone. Something felt off about these thugs, something seemed strange.
She tried again, with hits to different parts of the body.
"Ow, ow, ow. Chill mang. Fuck."
She dropped the metal pole and ran. The other thugs ran after her. She tried running around to the other side of the building to get away from them but, one of the thugs had blocked her path.
"Where are you going. Little Miss."
"Woof, she is a sweet thang."
Mio had no choice but to fight. She tried punching them real hard. It didn't work.
She didn't have any fighting experience and she kinda regretted not signing up for the self-defence classes at the university.
"Fuck"
"That's enough. You're going to give us what we want. Give us the chaos blade."
"I don't know what your talking about."
"But, boss told us not to come back if we can't get the blade."
"That's not my problem."
"Boss, didn't say we had to keep her alive. So might as well try to forcefully remove it."
"We doing surgery? That's fucked."
"Nah, we doing it our way."
