Chapter 6: 'Act Pitiful And You’re Invincible'
"Good morning princess!"
"Good morning Lucy." I said and sipped my tea.
"I'm sorry for waking up so late!" She apologized.
I smiled. "It's okay. I just woke up early."
Actually,she was one hour late.I woke up at seven like any normal day.Blossom adapted quickly to my habit.Grace came thirty minutes later.Of course she was surprised.
"Did you eat yet?" I asked.
"Yes! I can't afford eating your food princess! I know what you are planning!Humph! I learned my mistake!I'm too smart!" She said with pride.
"Hehe..Alright smart Lucy."
"Thanks for the title, princess!" She smirked.
Grace,who came in with a breakfast tray,sneered. "Smart? More like dumb Lucy.I can see you drooling just by looking at this tray."
"Morning mother!" A big smile was worn.
Grace shot a cold glare. "Mother?Haha..Should I educate you, my daughter?"
"Nope! Nevermind,I have mistaken you for my KIND mom..You are just a devil reincarnate."
"You dare?"
"Haha!" I laughed. It was funny seeing the fake mother and daughter pair fight. It was impossible for the two to be family. Grace was twenty-two and Lucy was sixteen. Blossom was eighteen.
I am lucky to have these girls.They weren't too old,so they aren't so strict. A lot of ladies in waiting are noble,and considering that a lot are sent to political marriage,most of them will be one,old or married. I was happy that they weren't rude,and they accepted me quickly.
"Your highness,please eat your food before it gets cold." Blossom entered,and stopped the duo.
"Alright."
While eating,I thought of what happened yesterday,after lunch. I was touring the third floor accompanied by Blossom.We were half way through.But, there I met one of my many step-siblings.

"Ha! It's you! Light Star?" A girl with red hair stopped me. She was about fifteen. She looked familiar..
"Princess,this is Dame Scarlet's,one of the king's consorts, daughter.Her name is Ruby Scorch Crystal." Blossom whispered in my ear. "She is also very short tempered like her mother."
I half bowed down. "Nice to meet you,Princess Ruby.Unfortunately,my name is not Light Star, I am Princess Moonlight."
"Tsk..Like I care!So Moon Star-"
I cut her. "It's Moonlight,dear step-sister Ruby." Shall we play a little princess?
"Tsk..Moonlight,didn't anyone teach you to address a princess by her title? Ha! I guess not! You still have commoner blood in your blood!" She acted all high and mighty.
I smiled.This girl is really stupid isn't she? Just like her mother..
"Oh my! I'm so sorry, PRINCESS Ruby..But I thought we were close! Since..You also called me straight with my name?"
"Y-You!" She almost let out her anger,but still kept her anger. Good,she still has self control.
I overestimated her self control.Ruby looked at Blossom,her new target.
"Humph! How dare your servant doesn't greet me! She deserves a beating! You didn't educate her! Let me do it for you..Oh..But..She's your only one serving you..I'm afraid that if I take her,you will end up alone."
She was obviously hinting that she had more servants than I,and she was far more important.
I never wanted to put anyone in my bad list on the second day.But this girl..She really is pissing me off.And clearly,I was in the advantage. Should I use a trump card? Mother gave me a lot of verbal trump cards to use in cases like these. I will use the 'act pitiful,and you're invincible' technique.
Look at this girl,such a narcissist. Bullying the weak..Tsk tsk, think again PRINCESS Ruby.
"But!" I put on my pitiful voice ready to put on a small act. "Your maids also didn't greet me! I also feel very offended.Is it because they are your dogs and follows their master's feelings?Do you hate me Princess Ruby?" I 'cried' out.
"Y-you!"
I continued. "Blossom,also the princess didn't greet me! What are the consequences of not addressing a royal?" Blossom eyed at me,I nodded.
"For a slave,it will be a beating and in jail for two days,for a commoner will be a jail for one day,for a knight will be extra training...For an archduke,will be an apology."
"Mmm..If I understand. Blossom who is commoner will go to jail..and your highness will be on room arrest..And those ladies back there,five,will also go to jail?"
"What do you think,princess?" I asked with a menacing tone.
"Princess Ruby!Please do something,I don't want to go to jail!" One of her maids begged.
"Me too! I'm quitting if I disrupt my family name!"
"..." Ruby was certainly angry.
"P-Princess..How about we stop here.How about we forget what happened today,and no one gets hurt."She unhappily muttered.
"..." I found a lot of loopholes in this pointless conversation,but I'm feeling kind and tired.I'm going to let this go..There won't be any next time.
"Alright.But please apologize to Blossom.She is sad."
"..." They had their pride as noble.So of course they'd be reluctant, excusing a commoner.
"We are sorry,miss Blossom." They all said.
"Well,let's call it a day.I'm tired,let's go back Blossom."
"Alright princess."
"Excuse me,I shall retire now."
"Yes.Me.Too." Ruby said.

After eating my breakfast, the girls helped me bath and dress up. The king bought some new dresses for me,saying that if I wear my commoner clothes,it will be an insult to the family.
"Princess,your hair is so smooth and fluffy! Like a cloud!Someone might mistake it for a wolf fur!"Lucy voiced out as she brushed my hair.
"Are you insulting the princess?" Grace butted in.
"N-No! It's just that..."
"It's okay.It's true that it looks like snow,fur,or clouds! My mother also said it.." I looked in the mirror. My hair was white,with a turquoise color in the ends.My right eye is dark blue,and my right eye is a grayish color. Mother said that people didn't like heterochromia iridum [1],so I have to hide my left eye.Mother gave me a mixture that I have to apply to my eye,to recolor it to dark blue.I do it once a month.
"Shall we braid your hair princess?"
"Alright." Lucy braided two braids on each side.
"By the way.Why are we taking so much time?"
"You don't know princess?" I nodded.
"The Khador's princes will be visiting. You will maybe meet them."
"Oh..Alright..I don't think the king will let me meet them,because in his eyes,I am a disgrace to the family.." I sighed.
"Don't say that princess! You are very smart,humble,mature and kind! Not like some others!"
"Hehe..Thanks Blossom.."
"Well it's true..Princess is very mature for her age. My little brother is your age and he still runs and screams around the house." Grace added.
"Haha..He must be very energetic!"
"She also let us eat at the same table!" Lucy said.
These girls...They really are the best..Trying to cheer me up..But..I know..The king hates my guts.Almost everyone hates me.Was it really a good idea being here?
