Bonding
I walk toward the town square with my parents, many other families could be seen with their children as the graduating class will bond with their monsters today.
Some people could be seen riding on top of their monster. Monsters are a part of everyday life, most of the monsters in Class 3 towns are Strain 2 like Grey Spark Sparrows.
I have completely absorbed the memory of Michael and now I feel like I have lived this 16,years as him.
Micheal!" I heard someone is calling me, I turned to see my friend Ron with his parents who were trailing behind him. He was holding a light green wolf cub in his arms, whose fur looked like it was waving in the air but there was no wind.
That monster is Wind Wolf, it has a class 6 strain and as its name suggests it is a wind elemental monster.
As Ron came closer, the wind wolf in his arm tried to hide further into it.Nothing to fear Johnny, I will protect you from her." He said as he pacified his wind wolf, I smiled seeing this.A month ago when Ron brought his Wind Wolf named Johnny to show off to me, johnny was acting quite mischievously and started to tease Ashlyn.
At first, as Ashlyn didn't even react to his teasing but when Johnny started to annoy her with his wind blades, getting incensed by it, she shot her silver fire at him from which Johnny started to yelp in pain, poor guy got burned for his playfulness.
"Johnny, have you been a good boy?" I said as patted the mischievous Wolf, he cried happily as he received a pat from.
"chew chew.." Ashlyn got jealous seeing me pat Johnny, she liked to act arrogant and indifferent but she gets jealous quite easily, especially when I get close to the other monsters.
"Ashlyn good to see you too," Ron said but he didn't try to pat Ashlyn as he knows she will avoid it.
''How are you feeling?" I asked Ron
''Both excited and Nervous." He replied briskly.
I understood how he felt as I felt the same emotions but for complete different reasons this is a fantasy to me which came true so I am more than excited.
We walked towards the town square, where the ceremony is held every year and there was already a big crowd waiting for it to start.
There is a big stage with a big black stone tile in the center of it. It is called the Enlightenment stone, it reduces the chances of failure of bonding to nearly zero.
In front of the stage, two hundred chairs are placed. It is for the students who were undergoing the ceremony today with the strict sitting arrangement, everyone's seats arranged according to their score.
My seat is in the center of the first row.
My left side is empty and on my right side is Ellen, topper of this batch also my very good friend.
"I didn't believe it when I heard that you rejected all the offers but seeing this Mutated Grey Spark Sparrow on your shoulder, it is true I guess," she said.
I just smiled at her knowing her blunt nature.
Ellen is my very good friend and also my competitor for the top place. For three years, we both were competing for first place but in the final exam, she beat me in the race for first place.
On her shoulder was a palm-sized spider which looked like it was made of glass. This monster is known as Glass spider and is one of the best Monsters in Class 7 strain.
I didn't ask anything as I know she will be joining a organization those who are joining organization they got better monster from them. I am not going to join any organization as I will be better that way.
We talked for sometime soon it was time for the bonding ceremony.
Many students went and completed the ceremony.
"Soon, it will be our turn, Are you ready Ashlyn?" I asked her as I took her into my lap and patted her softly.
'Chuuu choo' she calked saying yes, I also smiled. This is where both of our lives will be bound together.
"Michael," Mayor called out my name, I like many others before going on a stage and stand on the platform, opposite of me is Ashlyn.
I felt pain in the wrist and something inside me as ever so small part of the break out of me, I think it is my soul.
A drop of my blood likely mix of soul flies out of my wrist, Ashlyn's blood also floats out and both of started to merge.The merged blood again separates into two parts and started to float back toward and body. The drop of blood came closer to me and directly seeps into my temple.
My vision blurred a little but I see Ashlyn turned into the globe of energy and directly merged with me, I felt like electrivty running through my body and a small amount of fire as well I can feel the changes in the Ashlen she is mutating into the thunder_fire bird.
The ceremony is over, Ashlyn will stay in my body for a day, my body will gain Physical strength and higher sense and most importantly, I will gain Ashleyn's mutated powers which her Silver fire and also gain my thunder rule.
My body is rapidly changing so is my soul, my soul connecting with Ashlyn.
I went back to my seat.
Ellen's name is called out as she is Topper and the last candidate to perform blood ceremony . after her the ceremony gets complete and she also gave a speech as the top student.
After the ceremony is over all people started leaving,
"Best of luck both of you to your journey." I said to both Ron and Ellen as they were both leaving tomorrow, "You too Micheal." they both, after hugging them goodbye I left with my parents.
