Real start
In the next few days, Sandro didn't rest. His parents were paying his living expenses. It is not the same in Korea anymore. Plus he was going to attend a primary private school next month so he don't have time to be lazy. And his Portuguese is not perfect he need a little more practice. With Maria classes for foreign kids it will not take many time.
So the next few days from morning to the afternoon he trained in the U10 they are for the newcomers. And there it's only a stage to build a foundation before entering officially in the club.
Thing start for real after getting in the U 13 or U 11 which were teams that belong to San Paolo. The signing season was in April so, until then I will have to wait. But I will make use of this time to strengthen more my foundation with the basic. I will try to socialize a little with other people and try to speak the language more fluently. With my skill this will be easy. I will even strike a conversation with my neighbor. Her name is Helena Sanchez. She surprisingly can speak other languages too, like English and a little Spanish. She is very funny and she us my firs friend.
Time flew very fast.
Sandro studied hard. One month was in an breeze. In February, he started going to school that were 20 minutes away by bus. Quickly, he make some friends thanks to his personality. They make some nasty jokes when they know he was Korean . But all that doesn't matter to him. So during those few days, he developed some kind of routine.
Eat, soccer, eat , soccer and some practice with Helena in the evening. He was never busy as he was in these days. Soon, it was April before he knew it. It was already two months, but there are a lot of change in him. He even growth some height.
Just like that the day he was waiting for finally arrived.
Monday April,2nd 2003.
The manager of San Paolo Youth team spoke to Sandro who had just finished the entrance process.
"Sandro good job for your effort"
"Thank you I am very happy now"
The manager put forward a document. This is an evaluation sheet that record every single thing that Sandro had done in the past 2 months and show it to him.
Firs there is a record of 28 goals and 10 assists in 23 matches with the U 11. This gave him a record of 9.50 out of 10. And after measuring his lung capacity, muscle resistance, body balance and muscle strength, he received a high score of 9.56 in the medical examination. An he received almost a perfect score for his skill language, 9.80.
His Portuguese was increasing each day. He could now say almost everything.
"Now we are going to do a youth contract."
"Yes as I said before, the content of the contract depend on your results"
"So it's mean that I can get the best weekly pay"
"That right"
"Ah ah thank you"
Sandro read through the contract carefully. The buy out was what you can give a player under 13. $5 millions. If any other team take this price, the can buy Sandro.
The treatment given to me was good and there was even bonus for league participation, allowance and bonus for goal too. And if I advance in a higher class, the pay will increase.
"What class I am now"
"First, you will start playing marches weekly in the league after you join the U 13 team. This is where your pay will come once you register"
Sang Paolo FC U 13 it was the team he had compete in Korea. Then without further hesitation he signed the document.
April 3rd 2003
It was the day that he would be attending the training for the first time. He got up early in the morning and go there. This morning he got to see Helena who wish his succes. Then got to the car with Maria. This year Sandro main goals was to win the weekly league and advance to the U 15.
He went to the stadium. Today was the day his formal career began. He bud Maria goodbye and followed the advisor of the team in the internal facilities.
