Chapter 2: Holding It In

It been more then three months yet, Aria was still having trouble fitting. Sometimes she made a plan to try to get along, but they always backfired. Overall, including Aria, there was 5 people in the house. Her Aunt Lucy, Uncle John, her cousin Karma, and her other cousin Chris. Karma was 15 while Chris was 13; and although she tried making them cereal in the morning and cleaning the dishes for them....they never seemed to thank her for it, and it angered her. Chris was always playing with his phone or staying in his room while Karma was always doing her makeup or laying in bed sleeping or reading something on her phone, but either way, they both pushed her away. So she completely gave up. Aria tried to get more closer to her Uncle John, but it never seemed to work. He was always doing something, like playing video games, cleaning his car, going to work, or chilling in his room with the door locked. However, she didn't try to get close to her aunt because she always felt some sort of dark presence around her. Not to mention, she's the reason Aria started homeschool. Aria thought homeschooling was going to fun, but all she seemed to do was work all day and go to live lessons with her teacher. She had to wake up at 6 am and work until 2 or 2:30 pm, with only a 10 minute lunch break at 12. It was always lonely in the house since her aunt and uncle had to go to work, and her cousins went to public school. At this point, it was driving her crazy, and it made her feel empty. Being there at the house itself made her feel like she was being held captive by a bad guy who was forcing her to work and work and work on a gosh darn laptop. It was always the same routine, she woke up, ate cereal, did her work 'til 2, did chores, wait for the clock to strike 4 so she could turn on the tv and wait for all of them to come home to eat, then watch more tv until it was time for bed. The worst part about it....she didn't have a phone or anyway to entertain herself! She had no friends, she couldn't go outside, grab a snack, take a nap, or take a shower without asking. It was only the weekends that made her excited because those were the only days she was allowed to play video games. At least...only for 3 hours. So yes, it was hard for her to fit in, especially with such a strict household. She hid her feelings away from everyone since she didn't want them to think she was unhappy; what would they think if they say her?? Tell her it was going to be ok when it's clearly not? She didn't know anymore, she missed her mother..
