Chapter 49: The labyrinth

Once Jordi got back I immediately told him what I found out while he was away, and he shared what he knew as well. We both started planning out what to do and how to solve this magic problem before the water project wastes money on trying to solve a problem that was made theirs, it was never their fault.

After a couple months of planning, training, and scouting the warehouse we finally were ready to stop this problem. A couple of his Comrades who knew about the problem in Africa came to help us take down the base. We sneaked past any alarms or guards and entered the warehouse. The warehouse transformed into a labyrinth around me separating me from the others including Jordi. I was shrouded in darkness, debris, and uncertainty. Whispers permeated the air, hinting at an unknown presence lurking within the shadow. As I navigated the maze, my Tai Chi instincts heightened, equipping me with the ability to sense even the faintest disturbances. The whispers grew louder, urging him to go deeper into the labyrinth, towards an ominous presence yet to be revealed.

As someone emerged from the shadows of the labyrinth I realized it was an old acquaintance I knew from Camille island, Rachel. Her power was similar to Cates in the idea that it involves manipulation and deception. She had the power of object manipulation. Once you enter her range it's like she could make you see things that aren't real and make objects and places different when it's all a matter of trickery of the mind. This is why we are in a labyrinth not the original warehouse this is all a mind game.

I started the fight cautiously knowing I'm in Rachel's terrain and I'm under her will. I dodging her initial attack effortlessly. I knew that this was just the beginning, a small taste of what was to come. Gathering my strength, I unleashed a flurry of punches and kicks with lightning speed. Rachel, taken aback by my newfound intensity, struggled to keep up with my movements. With each hit my punches echoed throughout the room like thunder.

But Rachel was no ordinary fighter. She had a reputation for her deceptive tactics and uncanny ability to read her opponents' moves. Suddenly, she saw an opening and took advantage of Rachel's momentary lapse in focus. With a swift kick to the chest, Rachel sent me crashing to the ground. I struggled to regain my footing as blood trickled down my chin.

My electric powers surged through my veins as she retaliated. Crackling bolts of lightning enveloped my body, illuminating the darkened labyrinth. The two girls danced, their powers clashing, creating a beautiful yet terrifying spectacle. Rachel, seething with rage at my resilience, resorted to desperate measures. She unleashed her mind manipulation abilities on the labyrinth causing chaos and confusion amongst its inhabitants including her own comrades. As the labyrinth began shifting around us we charged at each other. The fight was far from over. Rachel, fueled by rage, unleashed a relentless series of kicks and punches, her movements becoming faster and more furious. My body ached, and my muscles screamed in protest, but I refused to give in. With every ounce of energy I had left, I pushed through the pain. I focused on my opponent's weaknesses, exploiting them with surgical precision.

The room vibrated with the intensity of their blows, their bodies moving in perfect synchrony. It was as if time had slowed down, allowing each strike to land with impact. They circled one another, each seeking to claim victory. The room twisted and convulsed, reality itself beginning to crumble. I shouted "Rachel your gonna kill is all, whatever you guys are doing with the water and in Africa isn't worth this". Rachel ignores me shooting broken wall clumps at me throwing me back as I heard a couple snaps.

I felt the witch begin to take over, obviously she was worried about my death along with hers. I calm myself and swish around centering myself through the power of tia chi. Rachel saw this as a sign to take control of the fight and began moving nearby objects, hurtling them towards me at great speed. I dodged away from flying debris, narrowly avoiding a fierce blow to the head. I retaliated, sending bolts of lightning towards her, who effortlessly blocked them with the flick of her wrist, throwing boulders in there path. Then, in one climactic moment, Rachel delivered a devastating combination of moves that sent me crashing to the ground.

All my composure and self restraint went away and the witch took over channeling all my energy unleashing a blinding bolt of lightning, aiming straight for Rachel's heart. The shere power from this strike turned off all the power and broke hundreds of walls within the labyrinth. The witch cackled as we stood victorious, covered in sweat and bruises. When I regained back control from the witch I looked over at what used to be Rachel and grimaced. All that was left was chunks of her body scattered around along with the debris.

I collapsed to my knees... I'm so tired of killing that's all I seem to do lately. The labyrinth seemed to disappear returning to the actual layout of the warehouse. Now we could go on with our original plan, but first I needed to find the others. After that battle I stumbled to my feet farther in the warehouse walking around for what seems like forever. I finally saw a figure in the darkness and got into a defensive stance but when I realized it was just Jordi and the others I sighed in relief clutching my broken rib.Jordi looked at me concerned knowing all the damage and noise was from me. I looked around seeing the rest of them with their own battle damage.

Then Jordi spoke "Ok step two of the plan, redistribute the water that was being sucked out of the earth by a magic spell into the warehouse, max said he saw the pipes leading this way, and then step three take this place down". Suddenly we were surrounded by a bunch of dark magic beings and monsters.
