Chapter 31: The spy
. I spent the weekend with my family and its Monday morning now. When I go down to the kitchen I walk into a conversation about a spy. A lot of military bases have been attacked lately and it is obvious that someone was on the inside and they had to be able to frequently listen in on the king. My dad decides I should find out who it is.
I decided to head down to the targeted military bases and see if I can find some clues. All the bases have one thing in common, coincidental accidents always took place during and before the attacks. So the people who were doing this were smart and they had time to plan it out. That being said this person has been here for a while.
I head back home after snooping around a bit more but still don't have a clue who it is. I head to my room after dinner in silence. I sit on my bed and go to some la la land. Some how I get a good idea. I decide to plant cameras all around the castle and record everything. Days later I collect the data and realize there is always one person near the king and they look suspicious. They were a maid, I'm one step closer now. I decided to keep the news to myself because there always watching.
Another day passes and I look at the footage again. I notice something I didn't before She has a tattoo of a black feather with a halo around it on her neck, This was the mark all dark fairy's have its like a password and it has like a code in it to make sure its them. It cant be replicated even if it seems so simple. It was mostly covered by her hair but I saw it as she ran. All we had to do was find out who has it and set a trap.
First we decide to set a trap, to find out if are accusation is true. We made some false information about a surtain base and its security. She was baited and good thing she took it. The next few days were chaos, we had to prepare the base to not get to badly attacked and we also had to wait in suspense until the day they strike.
Days later were informed about the attack of the North Shore base. I jump out of my seat and jump from happiness. I tell him "We have proof now dad". He still thinks we don't know who it is so I try to not looked to pleased. The maid is still probably listening to everything. There will a manditory health check up soon. I'll use that as my way of finding the answer.
When the day came we checked every single maid, so far no one had a clue what I was doing. I'm sure the maid covers it up each time so I'll just wipe there neck at random so they don't suspect and escape. We went from maid to maid, one after the other. I was starting to loose hope. But then one maid came in and she went through her check up then I walked up to her and quickly wiped her neck. She struggled but I was right anyways.
I immidedly called for the guards to get her restrained. She tried to stab me when I was calling for them but I grabbed her arm and broke it. I wasn't trying to but I must have gotten a bit to heated. The guards take her to the dungeon and I rush to my father. She yelled something to me as she was taken away. She has all are secrets... almost everything.
She new she would not make it out alive. She said the dark ruler knows of the bounty hunters death. She died a couple hours later from dealt poison she injested when she bit a hidden capsule in her gums implanted when she took the mission.
