Chapter 10: The boy
I went to the town square were I could help and socialize with everyone that I have not seen in so long. I don't know why a general has to accompany me every were I went but I am kind of used to it now even though I secretly wished for home to leave. I skipped down the smooth road and say down by the well. I was surprised this old thing has not been distroyed and it still is in pretty good shape.
Sitting there made me remember back then. People thought I was odd because I did not act like a princess I was to wild to untamed people did not understand me. They were shocked I was related to the king because I woke every day rebelling my royal life because I wanted to be normal and treated normal. Look at me now though I'm a inspiration and everyone would be glad to have me rule witch does not make sense my dad is not that old.
A little girl tugged on my dress and I looked down at her. She had a look of despair on her face. I said " what is wrong". The girl panting said" miss you must help me it is my baby brother". I said" I will be back don't leave general john. He said" wait my princess were are you... ". I was gone following the girl before I could here the rest of what he had to say.
I followed the girl to the edge of the island to a place known as skull sliders cliff. A little boy not a newborn baby but a toddler definitely was sitting on a lower part of a cliff on a small wedge that could crack and break any moment. I look at the girl and say" how on earth did this happen were are your parents ".
"I was in the house when I realized he was gone and he wondered all his way out here and I just found him and then I ran for help, my folks are shopping right now and I was home alone watch my brother, please help me". I rip off the skirt on my dress and throw it aside and lower myself on the side of the cliff and stepped on a small wedge and carefully moved closer and closer to the boy. I took another step the rock bellow my left foot broke and I lost my footing I held in to the solid part of the rock and roll a slight glance to the ground below me if I fall I definitely would be doomed. I looked at the boy so close to my reach and breathed in once and out and kept moving.
Once I got to the boy I grabbed him and held him tight to my chest and started to walk back the way I came. I lost my grip and fell but remembered I can fly. I flew up and over the cliff and dropped to the ground in a easy and graceful way and looked down at the boy. I looked over at the girl and she started to cry. She said" oh thank you, thank you".She ran over to me and gave me a big hug and I hugged her back.
I saw some people running towards us and I hear one of the people say" Katie, Mark is that you ". The girl ran over to her mother and said" I'm so sorry mom look Mark is ok she saved him". I said " hello". I walked up to them and handed them the toddler in my arms".
She said" what happened". Katie said" mark left the house somehow and wondered to the cliff and nearly fell and crawled halfway down it, then I found this nice lady who saved him". there dad looked at me and said" Princess Victoria thank you so much ". The mom said" how can we ever repay you". "There is no need it was the right thing to do but General John is probably worried sick right about now I must be going" I said.
