Chapter 1: The recurring dream
. I kept looking back, turning my head. This slowed my pace I saw nothing behind me but I felt a presence, someone was following me. As long as I'm safe I would rather not find out. That was my goal to get out, leave, get to a safer place that is brighter and more populated. I told myself you're almost out don't stop and get curious. But guess what I did... I stopped dead in my tracks turned around and said " I Victoria the daughter of King Camille carry on his tasks to stop all black magic users, I presume you are one of them". I regretted it immediately. The shadow appeared in the night sky. " you're a witch I see" I observed.
The witch sneered" good eye", in a creepy way. I felt a much closer presence. My eyes widened but before I could turn around a blade was inches from piercing my throat.
The creature behind me whispered in my ear" move you die, if you scream your saying goodbye, talking at all will seal a painful fate".
The witch that was following me spoke quickly "I'm dying and I need to survive so I'm going to steal your body... Well technically I'm going to share it with you but that is not the point"
" Merging souls... wait that's a lost spell not even the most powerful witches can perform" I said unsure.
The person behind me growled "I told you not to talk". The blade was touching my skin now, it must have slightly cut me because my neck was slightly stinging now. I also feel a small amount of liquid flowing from my neck. I tried to think of solutions, ways to get free, something...anything, but it was in vain i was to tired to even think straight. I now understand I have no chance fighting back making me feel small and helpless. The person behind me spoke in a whisper but sharply " I'm going to release you now so don't try anything".
He let me go and that is when I began to feel scared, afraid of what will happen next. The witch came closer she was so close that I could feel her warm breath tickle my skin. She raised her hand and I took a step back instinctively. I felt the knife so I took a step forward as I was doing this; she took my hand and I jerked slightly. She lowered us into a sitting position. I felt like I had no control over my body, I need to stop her. why was I not able to move?
She put her other hand on my forehead and I felt a gush of heat pour into my body. She started to recite a chant" from 2 to 1, sacrifice thy self to change the other, take over the soul to create something new, forevermore I shall be you". A huge beam of light shot out of us into the sky. When the brightness died down the witch's eyes turn black and her face was pale. She started to chip like a porcelain doll until there was nothing left but a pile of dust and clothes.
The person behind me grabs me by the wrist and asked " Master are you there"?
I yelled "I'm not your master LET ME GO".
He took a step back " surprisingly you are powerful enough to hold her back but you can't fight forever".
I snapped " you don't know what I'm capable of". I snatched the dagger from his hand spinning it around before swiftly pushing it deep into his chest. Blood gushes out of him as I pull out the dagger forcefully as his limp body hits the dirt. I threw the dagger and shiver thinking about what just happened. As soon as I saw clearly, I shot up into the midnight sky. As I was flying, I was thinking about the fight I was having with a dragon master and his dragon beforehand, they were very powerful. That is why I was so weak when I ran into the witch. My life is unpredictable, but what did you expect I'm a fairy after all.
As I was thinking I noticed I was losing control of my magic power. I started to plummet to the ground and right when I made contact... DARKNESS.
