Chapter 27: Mistake
Waking up in the morning, I feel surprisingly comfortable and awake. Jumping out of bed I go through my regular morning routine, at least for when I'm in a city. I walk towards the bathroom changing the clothes I fell asleep in into a bracelet. After I finish washing up I change into a sky blue dress and shoes, with a 1.5 in wide white braided belt at my waist. I also where white stockings and a wide white sun hat. Going downstairs I have breakfast.
"So Aurelia and I both have finished everything we needed to do for when we first got here. We set the auctioning time for each armor piece at the auction house for a week from now. Now all we need to do is wait, and search Athelney for whoever is behind what's happening." Looking at Xantos for his response I get a nod due to his mouth being full.
"That sounds like a plan, I have nothing against it," he said after swallowing down his mouthful of food.
As we finalized our plans for our activities, we all split off and start to search the city. Considering the size of the city we split up so it wouldn't take as long to search the city. Over the next two weeks I spent a lot of my time in high traffic areas using elemental senses to see if I could find any traces or rumors of suspicious people. I was fairly successful and found a lot of hints, but nothing conclusive. This made the search take as much time as it did, in the last week I spent a lot of my time tracing down the rumors.
Through constant training of my elements I was finally able to level my Lightning, Ice, and Life affinities to the next level. With that my base mana control had finally reached the intermediate level. This meant that first I was able to leave mana marks on people of lower control then me, without them noticing, and I was able to brake past the barrier that held be back from Low AA grade. Apparently the boost from reaching any type of mana affinity at intermediate was massive, hence it being a requirement to reach level 21.

Having put a signal on the person that was the goffer of the organization I was tracking down, I waited until I noticed that it stopped moving before making my way to it. To my shock, it seemed that they were based in the same auction house that we used earlier in the week, just underneath. whether they were conspirators or not was unknown. Using elemental senses on my eyes and activating tracking I was able to see my mana signature going behind the building into the alleyway. Activating stealth I started moving using my ice element, skating across the ground with the ice melting soon after. Arriving at the back of the building I find a hidden door where the trace of my mana ends. Making sure no one is around me, I silently open it and enter the basement floor of the auction house.
From what I can see, a lot of people go through this entrance area, it is lavishly decorated, but as of right now there isn't anyone here. The one thing that catches my attention, is that somehow I can sense the same type of energy as the demon core, just a little more faint as if a demon core used to be here but isn't anymore. 'This is definitely the place were looking for,' I think as I look around trying to get a better idea of what goes on here.

Seeing that I excited that we were so close to taking care of the problem I temporarily dismissed the new notification that popped up in my vision, and continued to investigate.
