Chapter 4: Timeskip X784 (1)

The doors of the guild were opened by loke, he seemed to be stressed and as he shouted as if he was frightened, "This is bad, they are back".

The entire guild went silent and then everyone began panicking, Lucy couldn't help but ask Mira "what's happening, are they the ones Natsu and grey mentioned?!"

Mira answered in her usual gentle tone "They are 2 of our best mages, Erza and Sora.", Lucy nodded and turned to look at the entrance with curiosity she seemed to be a little intimidated.

suddenly the ground began shaking slightly and the sound of footsteps approached, It seemed as if a giant was walking towards them, coupled with the long shadows cast on the ground, the atmosphere became heavy.

2 figures could be seen entering the guildhall, A man and a woman, the man was carrying a massive decorated horn on his back, the moment he entered the hall he dropped the horn on the ground in a dramatic fashion and turned to look at everyone in the guild as if he was searching for something.

Every guild member was silent. The woman identified as Erza turned towards Mira and asked with an authoritative tone "We are back, Is the master here?". Mira answered as usual "welcome back, the master is at the regular meeting.", Erza replied "I see." and turned to look at everyone around.

As Erza began scolding everyone, Sora's eyes were focused on lucy. 'My efforts were not in vain, I managed to save the plot. huh, what a relief. now I can start making changes according to the plan.'

Erza turned towards Natsu and grey and asked them to help her and Sora deal with a problem. Mira went on blabbering about the strongest team and as all this was happening Sora was unusually quiet, He was thinking about the past years...

---------------

After getting into the guild and stabilizing his situation. He started studying magic without rest, not to his surprise Magic was much more complex than he had thought it would be.

He learned that ...

Wizards in Earthland practiced magic based on their affinities, for example, a wizard suited to fire magic would focus on fire magic not because he couldn't do other magic but simply because he was most powerful with fire magic.

Each type of magic(there were a lot of types like fire, ice, celestial, etc.) had many different forms of Caster or holder magic within it. Each of these caster or holder magics was complex and usually, it took decades for an ordinary wizard to master.

Caster magics were more powerful but the condition to use them was to only learn 1 caster magic, only by mastering one caster magic to a very high level could a wizard try learning another caster magic of his affinity and only in the condition that he had more than 1 affinity.

Holder magics were different, One could master as many as one could even outside his affinity although the less affinity one had for certain holder magic, the weaker that magic would be upon usage.

Magic itself was a miracle birthed from certain particles in the atmosphere known as Ethernano. The difference between a wizard and a non-wizard was simply in the fact that even though these particles existed in everything a wizard could gather these particles within their body and manipulate them to their will.

The way Magic was used by wizards was though Magic circles. A wizard had to focus on his pool of Ethernano and by visualizing a magic circle, the wizard would try to create the magic circle with Ethernano and cast a spell through it, The more Ethernano used, the stronger the spell.

One of the signs of a strong Magic-user and certain mastery over a spell was that the wizard could cast spells without making the magic circle appear. The magic circle would only appear within their mind and the magic would be cast.

The tricky parts that made Magic complex were the circles, every spell had a magic circle that had to be learned.

Holder magic users had to either memorize the magic circle like Amaterasu formula or carve it in an object like celestial spirit keys.

Caster magic users were different, the magic circles would mysteriously embed themselves within the user's mind and thus the user could cast them at will without much focus required. Some Lost Caster Magics could carve Magic circles within the user's body causing miraculous effects to appear over time like immunity to fire.

There were many mysterious types of magics but the overall principle was the same. Magic circles themselves were created after centuries of Wizards experimenting on Ethernano and passing down their accumulated knowledge.

Even though the One magic was lost, it was still theorized to be the first magic circle that had come upon wizards from the stars and every other magic circle was born from it thus making it the most powerful magic containing all other magic.

The process of casting and learning magic was done in 3 steps: 1. A wizard had to learn to manipulate his Ethernano efficiently enough to perform his magic, 2. A wizard had to comprehend the theory behind the magic and its spells then by learning the required magic circle, he/she was finally ready to cast the spell/magic, 3. casting the magic itself which needed concentration because with a misstep it could lead to dangerous results that could harm the wizard.

Of course, there were exceptions which made using the magic much easier, the aforementioned steps applied to high-level Wizards near mastery of their spell and their casting process. Magics like celestial spirit magic, slayer magic, etc. were considerably easier in the beginning stages.

Wizards had 2 magic containers, the Main container was usually accessible from the begging and only the secondary container had to be unlocked in order to be used. Unlocking the second container happened naturally when the main container had exhausted its potential. Surprisingly the second container also called the second origin had much higher potential than the main container.

The containers had a certain output and size depending on the Wizard's aptitude and their time spent training, the stronger wizards had higher output and their container had bigger size allowing them to cast spells longer.

Training would improve the size and the output of the container but the speed at which they improved depended on the wizard's aptitude. (continuous use of magic counted as training)

It was said that the wizards which could awaken their magic without prior knowledge of it had a very high aptitude and affinity.

...

After several weeks of study, Sora finally had a general understanding of magic. He finally had the confidence to try to use some simple spells. The simplest spell he found was a fireball spell which created a fireball the size of one's fist, It was a holder magic of fire type with very simple principles.

The first time he focused on his magic, he felt a humongous force within him and he passed out. He dreamt that he was back in his inner world in front of the 3 vortexes.

Previously when he had chosen one and had tried to enter it, he had woken up without clearly going through it but now he felt like he had to choose. Previously it was just a vision.

This time there were minute differences though, he could feel that each gate desired something of its own accord unrelated to him, as if telling him his destiny in the future in a sense.

He felt that the Eye desired absolute unshackling and freedom, The trinity desired comprehension and connections, the sword desired sacred judgment.

he couldn't make a choice but at the same time, he knew if he didn't choose he wouldn't be able to do magic for the time being and that was unacceptable.

Unfortunately for him, he felt like he couldn't choose because all three seemed very good. He was more biased towards the eye but he felt nothingness there so he didn't know what to do...

After ten minutes, he yelled out of frustration "I Don't want to choose now, **** it."

Suddenly, he fell from that place to an ocean. When he looked up he saw the vortexes were there but there were many stairs between him and the vortex-like gates. he was enlightened, "If I chose one, I would have been limited to that one but now this ocean acts as a bridge between the three which means I might be able to use them all and switch between the three whenever I want. The downside was the fact that I could have started at an extremely powerful level now I have to climb back..."

he didn't know whether to feel regret or be happy. He soon came back to his senses in the real world and tried to do the spell again and this time it worked without a problem. "Yes, Finally I can become a Wizard," he said with an extremely excited tone.

The fireball was just a flicker despite him having used a considerable amount of his magic. "Am I that weak or is my affinity for fire magic bad?!"

He later consulted Makarov and learned that his affinity was light-based.

The day after he forced his magic out of his body as Makarov had suggested and a light blue flame-like cloud of light within a similarly colored magic circle appeared in his hand. After throwing that light construct at a tree he saw the tree explode.

He had found the basic form of his magic. "I will call it, Light God Slayer even thought it has nothing to do with it, it sounds fitting"

CREATORS' THOUGHTS
TheMystic TheMystic

I originally wanted to write 1 massive chapter but ultimately decided against it, I will break it down into parts[(1), (2), etc.]

I am taking a break because I don't feel like writing any chapters for a while(this week at least).

Ain is originally a divine construct that uses the magic of a goddess, Even though our MC has nothing to do with that goddess, MC was inspired by him so I decided to name his magic god slayer.(doesn't mean he is a god layer, it's just a name.)
