Chen looked up from her laptop and stretched. She scratched behind Oreo's ear who was stretched out beside her, and looked at the time. "Holy . . ! It's late! I need to leave." Yu Chen exclaimed as she jumped up from the couch.
Yu Chen hurriedly brushed her hair and packed up her things as she called a cab on her phone She was filling up Oreo's water bowl when the doorbell rang. Chen frowned and spared a glance at her phone before going to open the door. Her cab was still five minutes away, it was probably one of Si Xia's neighbors. Thinking this, she opened the door.
Chen blinked as she opened the door to a man in formal attire. He had on sky blue shirt and black coat and pants. His hair was neatly brushed back and hand clasped in front as he bowed in greeting. Yu Chen replied with a confused bow of her own, her eyes asking who the man was and what he wanted. Te man replied, "The president sent a car for you. I will be driving it for the day. My name is Xiao Hai." Chen blinked and peeked behind the man. To be sure, she saw Si Xia's dark brown ferrari parked a few feet away from the garage.
She obviously knew that the car was Xia's but Chen turned to the man with a polite smile. "Will you give me a minute?" she asked. Xiao Hai nodded and said, "I'll wait in the car." Yu Chen closed the door after giving him a polite smile and immediately dialed Xia's number. "Why would you do that!?" she yelled as soon as the phone connected.
Si Xia: "Xiao Hai is a good employee, and stays miles away from gossip. You can rest assured that e won't babble about this to anyone."
Yu Chen: "That was not I was worried about."
Xia: "You're not?" He sounded surprised.
Chen: "Of course not. You didn't have to send a car. I would have been perfectly fine taking a cab."
Xia: "You're right, I didn't have to. But I wanted to. Now go on, you'll be late. Stay safe."
A smile had already formed on Chen's lips as she huffed and said goodbye. She was an independent woman and didn't need anyone taking care of her, but it still felt good to be pampered once in a while.
But Chen had had another motive for insisting she take a cab. She had been planning to call Ni Yang while she was travelling and demand what the weird message was about. Bu she couldn't very well do it now with Xia's employee in the car. So she decided to go about it later, and instead opened her laptop, deciding to get a little work in.
Yu Chen's first stop was the graveyard where Mo Anxia was buried. She had stopped on the way to buy some flowers and books. Chen told the driver to find a suitable spot to park and wait for her as she went inside the cemetery.
Chen walked upto the grave and saw that the grave was littered with flowers that had fallen from the nearby trees. "It is spring after all. Much more flowers than necessary." she muttered as she set to cleaning the grave and the surrounding area.
