Chapter 431: I have too many employees
"You do know that a CEO is never late. Everyone else is just early." he said, and let out a laugh when Chen muttered something that sounded oddly like 'privileged ass'.
"You want me to pick up some clothes from your apartment when I come back today?" Si Xia's voice made Chen look up from her breakfast.
Her hands went to scratch Oreo's head who was sitting beside her chair as she thought about it. "I think I'm gonna go back." she said after some thought. Xia made a pouting disappointed face, but nodded. "Then I'll drop you after breakfast. Or do you want me to send a car?" he asked, going back to his food.
Chen put a hand under her chin and said, "Actually, I think I'll take a cab." These words made Xia pause eating and look up. "Why?" he asked, "Why would you want to take a cab? I'll drop you anywhere you want." Chen shrugged and replied casually, "I wanted to visit aunty and uncle Mo. Also, I'm probably gonna go meet Kio and Anxia. It's a lot of places. Better to take a cab."
Si Xia's eyes seemed to melt as he said, "You want me to come with you?" When Yu Chen shook her head, he nodded and went back to his food. "I'm sending a car, just so you know. I have too many employees, especially drivers." he spoke, not even looking up. Chen's lips curved into a smile as she tucked a stray strand behind her ear. The nonchalance with which Xia had just appointed a personal driver for her was so sexy.
Once they were done, Si Xia stood up and grabbed his keys. "Do you want to come for dinner tonight?" Chen asked, following him to the door. "Can't sorry. I have a business dinner today that I really can't get out of." he replied, sounding very apologetic. Chen waved her hand and said, "Oh it's fine. Do your thing."
Xia smiled and wrapped an arm around her waist. He pulled her close and whispered, "I'll make it up to you." Chen let out a shaky breath at these words, remembering the events of a night just two days before. She blushed deeper when Si Xia leaned closer to whisper in her ear, "Now, how about a goodbye kiss?" She averted her eyes and stammered, pushing Xia towards the door, "Go! You'll be late."
Si Xia chuckled at how cute her girlfriend was. He planted a kiss on the side of her forehead and said, "Byee." before heading out.
Yu Chen stood a minute at the door, watching him drive away. She let out a sigh, thinking back to how perfectly domestic the two of them were together. How she wished they could be exactly like this everyday. "We will be. Very soon." she mumbled, closing the door.
An hour later . . .
Yu Chen was sitting on the couch, freshly showered and in an over-sized t-shirt and pants. Since she didn't have any of her own clothes at Xia's place, she had settled for wearing one of his smallest t-shirts, that was a little more than over-sized on her, and the pants she had been wearing at his birthday party. It wasn't like she had any business meetings, this outfit would do for today.
